Prestazioni peggiori del previsto!

Maxtang MTN-FP750 è un mini PC relativamente poco spettacolare e, nella sua variante più potente, è dotato di un AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS. Abbiamo messo alla prova il compatto PC da ufficio, i suoi 16 GB di RAM e l'SSD da 512 GB e abbiamo analizzato le sue prestazioni.

Maxtang è un produttore di sistemi cinese che vende soluzioni industriali speciali sotto forma di sistemi embedded e mini PC progettati per l'ufficio. In questa recensione, ci concentriamo sul Maxtang MTN-FP750, che costa 440 dollari USA. Il sistema è composto da un AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS e 16 GB di RAM DDR5, oltre a un SSD da 512 GB. In alternativa, un AMD Ryzen 5 6600H è disponibile anche un processore AMD Ryzen 5 6600H. Inoltre, il mini PC può essere ordinato con RAM aggiuntiva e un SSD più grande. Maxtang offre anche un'opzione "barebone", che però è disponibile solo con AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS.

Cassa - Metallo e plastica in nero pianoforte

Maxtang MTN-FP750 ha una robusta cassa in metallo, completata da superfici in plastica nera lucida sulla parte superiore e inferiore del dispositivo. Molto rapidamente, le impronte digitali diventano visibili e, prima o poi, i graffi sono inevitabili. Dal punto di vista della stabilità, la macchina non sembra soffrire della presenza di coperture in plastica. Il marchio Maxtang è impresso sulla parte superiore del mini PC.

Con dimensioni di circa 13 x 13 centimetri, il dispositivo occupa un po' più di spazio sulla scrivania rispetto alla concorrenza e con un peso di 600 grammi, Maxtang MTN-FP750 è relativamente leggero. L'alimentatore pesa poco meno di 290 grammi. Maxtang MTN-FP750 può anche essere collegato a un monitor e nella confezione è incluso un supporto VESA.

Caratteristiche

Per quanto riguarda le porte, il Maxtang MTN-FP750 offre le basi. Tutte le porte si trovano sulla parte anteriore e posteriore. Ci sono un totale di cinque porte USB, una delle quali (USB Tipo C) può essere utilizzata anche come connettore per il display. Insieme alle due uscite HDMI sul retro, ciò significa che è possibile utilizzare un totale di tre monitor contemporaneamente. Inoltre, sul retro del dispositivo si trova anche la porta LAN 2.5G.

Il Maxtang MTN-FP750 ospita un modulo wireless Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 che può gestire le frequenze di 2,4 e 5 GHz. Nei test, il nostro campione di prova non ci ha entusiasmato con risultati impressionanti. Per il test, abbiamo utilizzato un Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000. In alternativa, può anche collegare il mini PC Maxtang alla rete tramite una porta Ethernet. Sono possibili velocità di trasferimento fino a 2,5 Gbit/s.

Accessori

Maxtang MTN-FP750 viene fornito con tutti i componenti più importanti per rendere il dispositivo operativo. Oltre alla macchina stessa, la confezione contiene un alimentatore da 90 watt (19 V; 4,74 A) e una piastra di montaggio per l'assemblaggio VESA. Allo stesso modo, fanno parte della confezione anche un cavo HDMI e una guida di configurazione rapida.

Manutenzione

Il mini PC Maxtang può essere aperto con relativa facilità. La base è fissata da quattro viti che sono nascoste da piedini in gomma incollati. Sotto la piastra di base, è abbastanza semplice accedere alla RAM o all'SSD M.2. Nel nostro caso, c'è ancora spazio per installare un modulo RAM aggiuntivo e un secondo dispositivo di archiviazione di massa (formato 2,5 pollici). Per accedere alla ventola, il dispositivo deve essere ulteriormente smontato, rendendo impossibile una pulizia rapida.

Prestazioni - Un AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS con 8 core e 16 threads

Il nostro dispositivo Maxtang MTN-FP750 in recensione è dotato di AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS. Nella AMD Radeon 680Mil SoC dispone anche di una potente iGPU. Tuttavia, per quanto riguarda la RAM, il produttore ha scelto di dotare il mini PC di un singolo modulo da 16 GB, DDR5-5600, anche se, in pratica, è possibile utilizzare solo una DDR5-4800.

Condizioni del test

Abbiamo eseguito tutti i test sulle prestazioni utilizzando il profilo energetico "prestazioni più elevate". Le prestazioni del SoC non sono state modificate o alterate nel BIOS e il dispositivo ha mantenuto le impostazioni di fabbrica.

Processore

L'AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS è un processore a 8 core relativamente moderno della serie Rembrandt. Tuttavia, il SoC Zen3 di AMD non può più essere considerato uno dei nuovi arrivati. Nonostante questo, il processore può elaborare 16 thread in parallelo, il che rappresenta una buona prestazione multi-thread. Nel confronto delle prestazioni, il nostro Maxtang MTN-FP750 è riuscito ad assicurarsi solo il penultimo posto. Il motivo è il limite di potenza di 35 watt di AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS.

Maxtang MTN-FP750 vs. Cinebench R15 Multi-Loop

Il multi-loop Cinebench R15 ci ha mostrato come funziona bene il sistema di raffreddamento sotto carico. L'unità di raffreddamento non raggiunge i suoi limiti grazie a un TDP massimo basso di soli 35 watt ed è per questo che il dispositivo è stato in grado di ottenere prestazioni della CPU sempre stabili. Nel confronto, il nostro esemplare recensito è riuscito persino ad assicurarsi il secondo posto dietro al modello Geekom AS 6.

Prestazioni del sistema

Ancora una volta, nei test sintetici sulle prestazioni del sistema, il nostro dispositivo di recensione si è trovato in coda. Nelle attività quotidiane durante i test e da un punto di vista soggettivo, il Maxtang MTN-FP750 è stato in grado di offrire buone prestazioni di sistema, a patto che il sistema non fosse costretto a gestire troppe attività contemporaneamente. La RAM sembra essere il collo di bottiglia, perché una volta sottratta la memoria grafica, sono disponibili solo 12 dei 16 GB.

Scheda grafica

L'uscita grafica è gestita dalla AMD Radeon 680M, una iGPU che offre buone prestazioni nella maggior parte delle situazioni. Tuttavia, con il Maxtang MTN-FP750, la situazione è un po' diversa e il motivo è la RAM installata. Il produttore ha dotato il nostro dispositivo di recensione di un solo modulo RAM. In questa configurazione, la AMD Radeon 680M è appena più veloce dell'Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 con 96 EU. Anche il Geekom A5 ha il naso davanti al nostro campione in esame, con la sua vecchia AMD Radeon RX Vega 8.

Per capire la debolezza delle prestazioni, abbiamo preso un altro modulo di RAM dalle nostre forniture e abbiamo effettuato alcuni benchmark. Questo ha portato a risultati più o meno equivalenti a quelli di Geekom AS 6 rendendo così Maxtang MTN-FP750 non inferiore ai suoi concorrenti.

Emissioni - Economiche ma non impercettibili

Emissioni di rumore

Senza essere stressato, il Maxtang MTN-FP750 è, per la maggior parte, silenzioso. Tuttavia, sotto carico, abbiamo raggiunto rapidamente i 45 dB(A) e siamo stati in grado di distinguere solo una differenza minima tra carico medio e pieno. Ma possiamo dire che questo rientra nella tolleranza di misurazione. È un peccato che ci siano solo due livelli di ventole. Dando un'occhiata alla tabella, si nota che entrambi i modelli di Geekom A5 e il NiPoGi AD08 erano ancora più rumorosi nello stesso scenario.

Temperatura

Il case del Maxtang MTN-FP750 si riscalda solo in minima parte, sia quando è inattivo che sotto carico. Abbiamo osservato un hotspot sulla parte superiore dell'unità, che misura solo poco meno di 40 °C, mentre la parte inferiore del dispositivo non ha raggiunto nemmeno i 35 °C. Tuttavia, il SoC si scalda notevolmente, anche se, con quasi 80 °C, eravamo ancora nella zona verde. Inoltre, il produttore ha impostato una temperatura massima di 90 °C nel BIOS. Non siamo comunque riusciti a raggiungerla con il limite di potenza preimpostato di 35 watt.

Consumo di energia

Nel nostro confronto, il Maxtang MTN-FP750 appartiene ai dispositivi più economici. In funzionamento al minimo, abbiamo già registrato un consumo energetico molto basso, pari a soli 7-8,4 watt. Solo il Geekom A5 e il Geekom Mini IT12 possono tenere il passo con punteggi altrettanto bassi. Sotto carico, il nostro campione in esame ha continuato a rimanere relativamente economico, con il nostro dispositivo di misurazione che ha registrato un picco di soli 61,4 watt. Considerando i limiti di potenza del processore, non si tratta di requisiti energetici particolarmente sorprendenti sotto carico.

Ciò significa che l'alimentatore da 90 watt non ha mai problemi a fornire al mini PC energia sufficiente in modo affidabile. L'alimentatore può anche gestire senza problemi la regolazione manuale del consumo energetico.

Maxtang MTN-FP750 è un mini PC relativamente semplice da usare a casa o sul posto di lavoro. Il processore AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS offre una potenza sufficiente per gestire la maggior parte dei compiti. I suoi 8 core e 16 thread rendono il mini PC adatto alle applicazioni che richiedono prestazioni elevate. La RAM installata è di 16 GB, il che non pone alcun problema per il momento. Tuttavia, quando si arriva al dunque, l'uso di un singolo modulo RAM ha dato i suoi frutti, nonostante Maxtang MTN-FP750 consenta l'installazione di moduli SO-DIMM. Questo significa che, nei test, Maxtang MTN-FP750 non ha fornito il tipo di prestazioni che ci saremmo aspettati. Le differenze di prestazioni più evidenti si riscontrano nei benchmark 3D. Questo problema può essere evitato installando un modulo RAM aggiuntivo e, senza dubbio, è un aspetto a cui i clienti dovrebbero prestare attenzione.

Secondo la scheda tecnica, Maxtang MTN-FP750 offre prestazioni eccellenti. Tuttavia, nei test, il mini PC non è riuscito a fornire la potenza promessa.

Il più grande vantaggio di Maxtang MTN-FP750 è il suo prezzo basso rispetto alla concorrenza presentata qui nel nostro confronto. Le prestazioni sono leggermente peggiori, a meno che non si prenda in mano la situazione e non si possano regolare i limiti di potenza del SoC. A nostro avviso, il limite di potenza definito di 35 watt è un po' troppo conservativo. Con 45 watt, il produttore avrebbe potuto trovare un buon compromesso. Lo stesso vale per la RAM, che può essere espansa con un secondo modulo. Se si considerano entrambi questi punti, dal punto di vista delle prestazioni, si tratta di un Maxtang MTN-FP750 completamente diverso da quello che abbiamo testato.

La selezione delle porte può essere descritta come solida. Tutte quelle importanti sono presenti a bordo, ma questo è tutto. Thunderbolt o USB4 sono assenti, il che limita leggermente il numero di casi d'uso. Un effetto collaterale positivo dell'avere una CPU con limitazioni di prestazioni è il fabbisogno energetico di Maxtang MTN-FP750. Nei test, questo dispositivo è risultato significativamente più economico rispetto ai suoi concorrenti. Sfortunatamente, questo non ha influenzato positivamente il rumore relativamente forte della ventola. Un concetto di raffreddamento leggermente migliore avrebbe portato a punteggi migliori in quest'area.
