Questo modello è dotato di un SoC più recente e di migliori opzioni di connettività. Il nostro dispositivo di prova ha unAMD Ryzen 9 6900HXcon 32 GB di RAM DDR5 e un'unità SSD da 1 TB. È possibile preordinare l'intero pacchetto a soli 749 dollari, mentre il suo MRSP è di ben 1.009 dollari. La collaborazione con Asus rimane anche per questo modello, poiché il Geekom AS 6 e l'Asus ExpertCenter PN53 sono costruiti allo stesso modo. Tuttavia, il modello Asus è notevolmente più costoso. Il Geekom AS 6 in dettaglio

Caso

Visivamente, il Geekom AS 6 è identico al Geekom AS 5.Geekom AS 5. Anche la collaborazione con Asus non è un segreto, come si può notare dalla struttura del dispositivo. È anche identico alAsus ExpertCenter PN53. Il suo ingombro di 13 x 12 centimetri è piuttosto ridotto. Tuttavia, ci sono anche dispositivi più piccoli sul mercato. Il Geekom AS 6 pesa 753 grammi, il che significa che è solo minimamente più pesante dell'AS 5. Non abbiamo notato alcun problema nella sua qualità costruttiva. D'altra parte, i materiali utilizzati non sono esattamente di altissima qualità, in quanto l'intero case è realizzato in materiale plastico di base. Tuttavia, l'interno è rinforzato dal metallo, che rende la custodia molto più stabile. Non abbiamo notato alcun difetto o problema sul nostro dispositivo di prova.

Connettività

A causa delle già citate somiglianze con ilGeekom AS 5il Geekom AS 6 presenta anche opzioni di connettività simili. Tra queste vi sono sette porte USB, il che significa che il modello più recente continua a essere equipaggiato in modo eccellente. Dispone inoltre di due porte HMDI e di una connessione DisplayPort che, in combinazione con la porta USB-C posteriore, consente di collegare quattro schermi contemporaneamente. La porta USB-C sul lato anteriore è la più utile. Offre velocità USB 4 e supporta Thunderbolt, il che significa che gli usi del Geekom AS 6 possono essere notevolmente ampliati con l'aiuto dei giusti dispositivi esterni.

Comunicazione

Geekom ha installato nell'AS 6 lo stesso modulo Wi-Fi 6E AX211 già presente nell'AS 5. Le velocità di trasferimento sono quasi identiche. Tuttavia, la velocità di trasmissione a 6 GHz è leggermente superiore a quella dei suoi concorrenti. Il Geekom AS 6 ha faticato un po' di più con la frequenza di 5-GHz e ha dovuto ammettere la sconfitta nei confronti del Minisforum Neptune Series NAD9nel nostro test. Rispetto all'Intel NUC 13 Pro, il nostro campione di prova si è comportato molto bene. Per questo test abbiamo utilizzato un Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 come router di prova. In alternativa è possibile collegarsi a Internet tramite la porta Ethernet, che può raggiungere velocità di trasferimento fino a 2,5 Gbit/s.

Accessori

Il mini PC viene fornito con un alimentatore da 150 watt e una piastra di montaggio per collegare il dispositivo a un monitor (montaggio VESA). Sono inclusi anche un cavo HDMI, un breve manuale di istruzioni e alcune viti.

Manutenzione

Il Geekom AS 6 può essere aperto dal basso. Il case è tenuto insieme da una moltitudine di piccole viti situate all'interno dei piedini in gomma del dispositivo. Il cuscinetto termoconduttivo dell'SSD crea un po' di resistenza quando si apre il PC. I componenti installati possono essere facilmente accessibili e sostituiti o aggiornati se necessario. Il Geekom AS 6 può ospitare fino a tre SSD.

Prestazioni - un AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX con una Radeon 680M come iGPU

Il Geekom AS 6 è stato equipaggiato con unAMD Ryzen 9 6900HX - un moderno SoC con una veloce iGPU. Le sue prestazioni aumentano grazie alla AMD Radeon 680Mlo porta ad avere prestazioni migliori rispetto alGeekom AS 5che ha dovuto accontentarsi di unaAMD Radeon RX Vega 8. È ben equipaggiato con 32 GB di RAM e il suo SSD da 1 TB dovrebbe essere più che sufficiente per la maggior parte degli utenti.

Condizioni di test

Abbiamo eseguito tutti i nostri test sulle prestazioni utilizzando il profilo "Highest Performance". Le prestazioni del SoC non sono state modificate nel BIOS e sono state lasciate nello stato in cui sono state fornite, secondo le impostazioni del produttore.

Processore

IlAMD Ryzen 9 6900HXè la potenza del Geekom AS 6 e offre buone prestazioni multi-core grazie ai suoi 8 core e 16 thread. Rispetto alGeekom AS 5che è dotato di unAMD Ryzen 9 5900HXil modello più recente non riesce a spremere molte più prestazioni dal SoC. Entrambi i dispositivi sono quasi ugualmente veloci. Lo stesso si può dire confrontandolo con il modelloMorfine M600, anch'esso dotato di AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX.

Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni pure della CPU, il rivale Intel non è riuscito a tenere il passo. Tuttavia, c'erano solo 5 punti percentuali tra il Intel NUC 13 Pro e le prestazioni del Geekom AS 6, che riflette la media di tutti i benchmark della CPU. Intel, con il suo Core i7-1360P, ha ottenuto il miglior risultato totale grazie alle sue migliori prestazioni single-core. Tuttavia, è probabile che nell'uso quotidiano non si notino queste piccole differenze.

Nei benchmark AIDA64, il Geekom AS 6 ha dimostrato chiaramente di avere un SoC potente. D'altra parte, abbiamo notato che quasi tutti i sistemi basati su AMD hanno fatto molto meglio della concorrenza. A questo punto, il Geekom AS 6 è riuscito ad assicurarsi il primo posto.

Geekom AS 6 vs. Cinebench R15 Multi Loop

Durante il Multi Loop di Cinebench R15, abbiamo misurato il comportamento del SoC in presenza di periodi di carico più lunghi. IlAMD Ryzen 9 6900HXha funzionato per la prima volta al suo TDP massimo di 65 watt - a causa delle temperature, ha rallentato un po' dopo il 13° ciclo. Prestazioni del sistema

Il nostro Geekom AS 6 si è comportato molto bene nei benchmark sintetici per quanto riguarda le prestazioni del sistema. Durante PCMark 10, il nostro Geekom AS 6 e ilMorefine M600si sono piazzati al primo posto. Dopo un leggero distacco, il NUC 13 Pro con processore Intel si è piazzato al primo posto.NUC 13 Proanche se i risultati sono stati completamente diversi durante Crossmark. In questo caso, tutti i sistemi AMD hanno faticato di più a mettere sotto pressione i mini PC con processore Intel-SoC. Durante i nostri test sulla RAM utilizzando AIDA64, il Geekom AS 6 è stato in grado di mostrare i suoi punti di forza grazie alle sue DDR5. In confronto, questo è stato sufficiente per far sì che l'AS 6 si posizionasse davanti al Morefine M600, che presenta una configurazione simile. L'Intel NUC 13 Pro Kit, invece, è dotato di una RAM DDR4 leggermente più lenta.

Latenza DPC

Abbiamo già osservato un leggero aumento delle latenze quando si aprono più schede nel browser Edge. Le latenze sono aumentate ancora leggermente quando abbiamo iniziato a riprodurre il nostro video di prova in 4K. La AMD Radeon 680M è stata utilizzata al 30% circa.

Dispositivi di archiviazione

Geekom ha dotato l'AS 6 di un'identica unità SSD NVMe da 1.024 GB di Kingston, la stessa che avevamo visto nel Geekom AS 5. Anche questo modello utilizza un'unità SSD NV2 di Kingston. Entrambi i modelli, sia questo SSD che quello del Geekom AS 5, utilizzano un SSD NV2 di Kingston.Geekom AS 5- si sono comportati in modo identico. Sebbene il modello installato utilizzi la porta NVMe, ha fornito prestazioni mediocri quando si è trattato di scrittura sequenziale. In termini di scrittura in lettura, entrambi i modelli hanno ottenuto prestazioni simili. Dopo aver consultato il produttore, stiamo valutando la possibilità di installare un altro modello in grado di fornire prestazioni migliori in termini di consistenza. Tuttavia, al momento abbiamo solo la possibilità di valutare il suo stato attuale, e questo ha reso chiaro che il Geekom AS 6 purtroppo non ha ottenuto altro che l'ultimo posto in questo confronto.

In generale, la scelta dell'SSD per quanto riguarda il supporto NVMe e la capacità di archiviazione è stata un lavoro ben fatto per Geekom. Tuttavia, siamo stati in grado di escludere un problema del dispositivo stesso per quanto riguarda le prestazioni mostrate, poiché abbiamo ottenuto risultati molto migliori utilizzando il nostro Kingston KC3000 nello stesso sistema. Abbiamo allegato uno screenshot dei benchmark dell'AS SSD.

Il Geekom AS 6 ha spazio per un massimo di tre dispositivi di archiviazione in totale. Due utilizzano lo slot M.2 e il terzo deve essere un dispositivo di archiviazione da 2,5 pollici.

Nota bene:

I nostri colleghi statunitensi hanno testato il Geekom AS 6 sulla base di un AMD Ryzen 7 6800H. Abbiamo quindi dato una rapida occhiata alle prestazioni dell'SSD con questo modello, per vedere se presentava problemi simili. Secondo i benchmark, il modello Kingston installato in questa versione ha fatto decisamente meglio.

I nostri altri test hanno già mostrato le buone prestazioni di base fornite dallaAMD Radeon 680M come ilAMD Ryzen 9 6900HXcome iGPU dell'AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. In questo caso, il Geekom AS 6 si aggiunge senza problemi con i suoi livelli di prestazioni 3D altrettanto eccellenti. Attualmente Intel ha troppo poco da offrire per poter competere: le sue attuali iGPU, alias Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7, sono molto indietro. Lo stesso si può dire per l'Intel NUC 13 Pro, che è risultato indietro del 41% rispetto al nostro campione di prova. IlMorefine M600'sAMD Radeon 680Msi è comportato un po' meglio in totale, il che significa che il Geekom AS 6 è riuscito a raggiungere solo il secondo posto.

Grazie alla sua porta Thunderbolt 3, abbiamo anche esaminato le prestazioni 3D del mini PC in combinazione con il Razer Core X e la nostraNvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Le prestazioni della scheda grafica dedicata per desktop non riescono a tenere il passo con quelle di una GPU installata di serie, a causa della minore larghezza di banda PCIe. Nonostante ciò, abbiamo notato livelli di prestazioni 3D molto migliori con questa combinazione. Tuttavia, abbiamo notato risultati molto coerenti tra i diversi concorrenti.

Emissioni: potenti eppure parsimoniose

Emissioni acustiche

Sebbene il Geekom AS 6 abbia prestazioni molto più elevate rispetto al Geekom AS 5.Geekom AS 5abbiamo notato emissioni acustiche molto più silenziose sotto carico. Abbiamo misurato solo 40 dB(A) - il modello precedente aveva emissioni acustiche molto più elevate, pari a 47 dB(A). Rispetto all'Intel NUC 13 Pro, ha fatto circa lo stesso. Tuttavia, il Geekom AS 6 non è mai completamente silenzioso, nemmeno in modalità idle, il che significa che ha preso la pagliuzza corta nel confronto diretto con i suoi concorrenti. Con una misurazione di poco più di 33 dB(A), il nostro sistema ha funzionato in modo molto silenzioso e anche sotto carico medio il Geekom AS 6 non è mai diventato fastidiosamente rumoroso, misurando 36,8 dB(A).

Temperatura

Il Geekom AS 6 non ha mai avuto problemi di temperatura. Non importava se stesse eseguendo Prime95, FurMark o entrambi i programmi contemporaneamente: il SoC non ha mai superato gli 80 °C di temperatura. Abbiamo notato un certo margine di manovra per quanto riguarda la curva della ventola, la stessa che si trovava sulGeekom AS 5- per mantenere le temperature basse sotto carico. D'altro canto, il produttore ha rinunciato a un po' di prestazioni che sarebbe stato in grado di offrire con un TDP costantemente più elevato. Sembra invece che abbia trovato un compromesso per garantire un funzionamento stabile nelle aree meno raffreddate del PC. Gli stress test sono stati eseguiti con una temperatura ambiente di 22 °C.

Consumo di energia

I valori di consumo energetico del Geekom AS 6 sembrano abbastanza positivi se si confrontano con quelli delMorefine M600 6900HXpoiché i componenti installati sono simili. Rispetto al carico medio e al valore massimo (che è stato raggiunto solo per un breve periodo di tempo), il nostro campione di prova ha fatto molto meglio. Abbiamo anche notato valori inferiori rispetto alIntel NUC 13 Proanche se il suo consumo in modalità idle era un po' alto, con 13,7 watt. In fin dei conti, questo non dovrebbe essere un grosso problema. Il Geekom AS 6 è dotato di un potente alimentatore da 150 watt che, a nostro avviso, è un po' eccessivo. In base alle nostre misurazioni, il modello precedente120 watt del modello precedente sarebbe stato più che sufficiente. Il Geekom AS 6 è attualmente un mini PC estremamente potente con un moderno processoreAMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. Non ha ottenuto solo prestazioni migliori nei test della CPU: la sua nuova iGPU, laAMD Radeon 680Mha superato anche l'AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX.AMD Ryzen 9 5900HXcon la suaAMD Radeon RX Vega 8. Durante il nostro test, abbiamo notato un aumento delle prestazioni della sua iGPU di circa il 30%. Si tratta di un aumento enorme e attualmente Intel non è in grado di tenere il passo. Se siete alla ricerca di un mini PC potente con prestazioni 3D utilizzabili, allora siete di fronte al dispositivo giusto. Il Geekom AS 6 dispone anche di un'ampia gamma di porte USB e Thunderbolt. Quest'ultima può persino aiutare a trasformare questo piccolo PC in una vera e propria bestia informatica con gli accessori giusti. Inoltre, il Geekom AS 6 può ospitare fino a quattro schermi contemporaneamente. Questa caratteristica non è presente in tutti i mini PC e potrebbe rivelarsi un fattore decisivo per molti potenziali acquirenti. Rispetto al suo predecessore, le prestazioni WLAN non sono necessariamente migliori, ma non sono nemmeno peggiori. Non c'è da sorprendersi, visto che sia il case che il modulo WLAN 6E installato sono identici a quelli dell'AS 5.

Il Geekom AS 6 ha il potenziale per essere un ottimo mini PC. La sua potente iGPU è in grado di superare praticamente tutti i mini PC Intel e Thunderbolt rende questo dispositivo ancora più a prova di futuro.

La nota collaborazione dell'azienda con Asus continua con questo modello, ma non lo consideriamo assolutamente un punto negativo. Dal punto di vista del prezzo, il dispositivo di Geekom è notevolmente più attraente e non deve nemmeno scendere a compromessi degni di nota. Purtroppo, il problema principale del mini PC è l'unità SSD. Il modello Kingston è già stato utilizzato nel Geekom AS 5, con prestazioni simili. Il produttore dovrebbe scegliere un modello diverso in futuro per evitare di ripetere lo stesso problema. In termini di emissioni acustiche, l'AS 6 è molto più silenzioso del suo predecessore. Tuttavia, questo non significa che l'AS 6 sia uno dei mini PC più silenziosi. Con i loroSerie Venus UM690minisforum ha dimostrato che è possibile fare di più utilizzando lo stesso SoC.
