Verdetto: RTX 4080 e RX 7900 XTX killer frenate dalla cruda realtà del mercato

La terza migliore GPU Blackwell di Nvidia di quest'anno, la RTX 5070 Ti, non è disponibile in una variante Founders Edition, ma sono disponibili un buon numero di schede partner, tra cui la MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC.

La RTX 5070 Ti ha molto da offrire, soprattutto se si considera che è solo una GPU GB203 ridotta con la stessa interfaccia di memoria GDDR7 da 16 GB, anche se un po' più lenta. Rispetto alla RTX 5080 FE, con la RTX 5070 Ti si perde circa il 10% di prestazioni - non male se si considera la differenza di prezzo del 25% al MSRP.

Essendo una scheda Ventus, la RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC di GeForce non presenta alcuna caratteristica. Tuttavia, è costruita bene e il formato SFF piacerà a molti.

La RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC riesce a superare la RTX 4080 Founders Edition nei benchmark sintetici, il che è prevedibile visti i miglioramenti generazionali. Anche l'aumento rispetto alla RTX 4070 Ti è piuttosto significativo.

Nel gaming, il divario tra la RTX 5070 Ti e la RTX 4080 si allarga nelle prestazioni raster pure, pur essendo un pelo più veloce della Radeon RX 7900 XTX, che è l'attuale ammiraglia della scuderia di AMD.

Con il ray tracing attivato, la RX 7900 XTX si allontana ulteriormente dalla RTX 5070 Ti. In sostanza, se è un giocatore a 1440p, la RTX 5070 Ti è una scelta obbligata. anche i giocatori a 4K se la cavano bene, con un guadagno medio del 20% rispetto alla RTX 4070 Ti. Un po' di aiuto per l'upscaling può consentire alla RTX 5070 Ti di aumentare ancora di più i fotogrammi a 4K.

L'attrattiva maggiore della RTX 5070 Ti deriva dal supporto delle più recenti tecnologie Nvidia, come la generazione multi-frame DLSS 4. Per quanto possa sembrare un espediente, questo offre alla RTX 5070 Ti un vantaggio nei titoli supportati, consentendole di superare il rendering nativo della RTX 4090.

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC ha molto da offrire. Tuttavia, dovrà anche fare i conti con la mancanza di headroom TGP extra, di commutazione VBIOS e, naturalmente, di RGB.

Il sistema di raffreddamento di MSI per il Ventus sembra piuttosto banale, ma fa un buon lavoro nel tenere sotto controllo le temperature senza preoccupazioni di throttling. Ciò che preoccupa, tuttavia, sono le elevate emissioni di rumore della ventola sotto carico.

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC merita sicuramente di essere presa in considerazione se sta cercando l'ultima scheda di Nvidia. Per il momento non ci sono alternative valide in questo segmento, ma questa scheda è redditizia solo se riesce a ottenerla al prezzo di 749 dollari richiesto da Nvidia o al prezzo di 830 dollari di MSI, a prescindere dalla disponibilità in magazzino.

Se il prezzo è superiore - e lo sarà sicuramente - la proposta di valore si riduce in modo significativo. Ci sono molti tipi di opzioni RTX 5070 Ti in circolazione che vendono a prezzi assurdamente elevati senza alcun vantaggio reale. Suggeriamo di aspettare di vedere cosa ha in serbo AMD con la serie Radeon RX 9000, prevista per l'inizio di marzo, prima di fare il grande passo.

La RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC raggiunge un buon 20% di fps in più rispetto alla RTX 4080 FE con path tracing abilitato a 1440p in Indiana Jones e il Grande Cerchio. Generazione multi-frame DLSS 4

Mentre tutte le GPU RTX che risalgono alla generazione Turing supportano il DLSS 4, solo le GPU RTX 50 Blackwell possono eseguire la generazione multi-frame (MFG).

La MFG spinge la RTX 5070 Ti molto avanti rispetto alla RTX 4090 nei giochi supportati. Per esempio, mentre la RTX 4090 riesce a raggiungere quasi 90 fps in Star Wars Outlaws a 4K con ultra ray tracing e generazione di fotogrammi DLSS e ricostruzione dei raggi attivata, la RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC può raggiungere 114 fps alle stesse impostazioni con 4x MFG.

Attualmente, solo un numero limitato di titoli supporta nativamente l'MFG sulle GPU RTX 50. Tuttavia, l'applicazione Nvidia offre un modo per forzare l'MFG in molti altri giochi compatibili.

Emissioni: Buone termiche, ma elevata rumorosità della ventola sotto carico

La RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC non presenta alcuna configurazione di raffreddamento di lusso, ma le basi sono corrette.

Secondo MSI, la RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC è dotata di una piastra di base in rame nichelato e di heatpipes quadrate per garantire un trasferimento efficace del calore dalla GPU.

Test da sforzo

Sforzandosi con FurMark (1.280x720, senza AA), la RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC raggiunge boost di 2.715 MHz con un consumo di picco di 300 W e una temperatura media del core di 69,2 °C.

In uno stress più reale come Cyberpunk 2077 a 1080p Ultra, la RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC può raggiungere un boost di 2.857 MHz con un consumo energetico di 266 W molto inferiore, mantenendo la temperatura media del nucleo a 65,5 °C.

Le temperature di superficie sono facilmente gestibili, con il coperchio anteriore che rimane relativamente fresco e il pannello posteriore ben al di sotto dei 45 °C sotto carico a una temperatura ambiente di 23 °C.

Le triple ventole Torx 5.0 di RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC fanno un buon lavoro nel mantenere la GPU fresca. Le ventole si fermano completamente quando la GPU è inattiva nella curva delle ventole predefinita.

Tuttavia, le ventole possono diventare molto rumorose sotto carico. In FurMark, abbiamo registrato un livello massimo di pressione sonora (SPL) di 51,56 dB(A). I livelli di rumore durante il gioco sono relativamente più bassi, con 43,22 dB(A).

Non c'è un interruttore di profilo VBIOS dedicato, quindi dovrà affidarsi a MSI Center o MSI Afterburner e simili per definire le curve personalizzate delle ventole, se necessario.
