Anche se ha ormai un anno e mezzo di vita, la RTX 3080 Ti di GeForce non dovrebbe essere considerata un modello superato, nonostante il recente rilascio dei modelli successivi. Nella nostra recensione, diamo un'occhiata più da vicino per vedere come si comporta questo modello Asus rispetto alla concorrenza. La scheda grafica è rifinita ad un livello molto alto, con la superficie costituita principalmente da metallo. Possiamo già dire che la ventola non ha difficoltà a disperdere il calore sotto carico. Tuttavia, vale la pena di verificare la compatibilità del case a causa delle dimensioni della scheda. In primo luogo, l'altezza potrebbe essere un problema. Con un'altezza di 12,6 centimetri, lo spazio può essere rapidamente ridotto con la parete laterale. Inoltre, è necessario fare spazio anche per i due connettori di alimentazione a 6+2 pin. Il consumo energetico di Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC è di 350 watt, in linea con le specifiche della Founders Edition e quindi superiore a quello delle schede grafiche annunciate di recente, come la Nvidia RTX 4080 Ti OC.Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 o laAMD Radeon RX 7900 XT. Esternamente, la scheda grafica offre due porte HDMI v2.1 e 3 porte DisplayPort 1.4a, che aiutano l'Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC a produrre 8K a 60 Hz o 4K a 120 Hz. Parametri sintetici e prestazioni di calcolo

Nei test sintetici, l'Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC può raggiungere le stesse prestazioni di una Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Questi risultati sono un filo rosso nella maggior parte dei test, poiché la differenza tra il numero di core CUDA dei due modelli è trascurabile. Inoltre, i benchmark non traggono vantaggio dalla maggiore VRAM della Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. Tuttavia, la differenza di prestazioni è molto più elevata rispetto alle attuali schede della serie Radeon RX 7900 e GeForce RTX 4000. Nei test sintetici, il secondo modello più veloce di AMD ha un vantaggio di circa il 15% rispetto alla GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Tuttavia, Nvidia è sempre in ritardo rispetto ad AMD quando si tratta di test di rendering professionale. Per quanto riguarda l'editing fotografico, le cose sono molto diverse con Affinity Photo 2. In questo ambito, Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC è in grado di competere con GeForce RTX 4090 di Nvidia. AMD non riesce a tenere il passo con la sua nuova RX 7900scheda grafica.

Parametri di gioco

I nostri test di gioco dimostrano che la Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC ha prestazioni eccellenti. Nonostante sia passato un anno e mezzo dal suo rilascio, la scheda grafica è in grado di riprodurre senza problemi quasi tutti i giochi attuali a 2160p. Tuttavia, la GeForce RTX 3080 Ti fatica a gestire poco più di 40 FPS con due giochi: A Plague Tale Requiem e Cyberpunk 2077. Abbiamo escluso F1 22 perché l'opzione ray tracing è attivata nel preset 4K. Senza ray tracing, ci si possono aspettare frame rate sostanzialmente più alti. Rispetto alla RTX 4090 o alla Radeon RX 7900l'Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC deve ammettere la sconfitta quando si tratta di risoluzioni più elevate. Tuttavia, il vantaggio di cui godono i modelli attuali viene messo in prospettiva quando si gioca a 1080p, dato che i colli di bottiglia del processore impediscono di raggiungere il massimo delle prestazioni. Di conseguenza, sarebbe utile dare un'occhiata più da vicino alla serie RTX 3000 per confrontare e dare priorità a determinati giochi. Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC emissioni

I progressi tecnici dell'architettura delle nuove GPU sono chiaramente visibili nel passaggio da Ampere ad Ada Lovelace. A 1080p il consumo energetico del nostro sistema di prova Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC è pari a quello di una Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. In questo caso, abbiamo misurato quasi 530 watt alla presa. Nel test di stress, l'obiettivo di 100 watt di potenza in più è laGeForce RTX 40904090 è la sua rovina. In questo ambito, il nostro dispositivo di prova è molto più economico. Tuttavia, per quanto riguarda laNvidia GeForce RTX 4080l'Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC ha consumato il 10% di energia in più nel nostro sistema di test. Per quanto riguarda l'efficienza energetica, entrambi i nuovi modelli AMD (Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Radeon RX 7900 XT) non sono al livello che ci saremmo aspettati da queste schede prima della nostra recensione. Tuttavia, i futuri aggiornamenti dei driver dovrebbero garantire miglioramenti. Attualmente, la AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT è più economica di una GeForce RTX 3080 Ti durante il gioco, anche se entrambi i modelli sono stati alla pari nel nostro stress test. Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni per watt, al momento è meglio la GPU RDNA 3, più piccola.

In termini di rumore, la Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC si comporta in modo discreto. Anche se, a causa dell'enorme ventola, questo è qualcosa che ci aspettavamo. Le tre ventole assiali entrano in funzione solo quando la temperatura della GPU raggiunge i 55 °C. Nel test di stress abbiamo registrato 37,5 dB(A), anche se durante il gioco è stato misurato un livello di pressione sonora leggermente superiore a 38 dB(A).

La Asus TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC non è certamente una scheda grafica scadente se ci concentriamo solo sulle prestazioni di benchmark della scheda grafica. Si tratta di un modello con il quale attualmente è possibile giocare senza problemi a quasi tutti i giochi. Con 12 GB di VRAM, la scheda grafica era ben equipaggiata quando è stata rilasciata a metà del 2021, ma, è bene tenerlo presente, i modelli di fascia alta sono ora dotati di 20 e 24 GB di VRAM. Tuttavia, il valore aggiunto è gestibile quando si fa un confronto diretto tra la GeForce RTX 3080 Ti e la Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090.

Caratteristiche come il ray-tracing e il DLSS aiutano la GeForce RTX 3080 Ti a superare la concorrenza. Non si tratta di un'area in cui la Radeon RX 7900 XT di AMD è più veloce. Tuttavia, quando si tratta di prestazioni di rasterizzazione senza funzioni di upscaling, AMD con RDNA3 riesce a superare Ampere. Questo fa sì che il prezzo sia considerevolmente più alto rispetto al prezzo di listino della Radeon RX 7900 di AMD presentata di recente.AMD Radeon RX 7900 per 70 euro in più, GeForce RTX 4080 di Nvidia è un'opzione migliore che vale la pena prendere in considerazione.
