Recensione della CPU Desktop Intel Core i5-9600K

La battaglia degli hexa-core per aggiudicarsi la corona.

L'Intel Core i5-9600K è l'ultimo processore desktop Coffee Lake che abbiamo in fase di test. La CPU hexa-core offre quasi le stesse specifiche del suo predecessore, ma con una velocità di clock incrementata. Continuate a leggere per scoprire come si comporta il Core i5-9600K rispetto ai suoi concorrenti e come si comporta nei nostri vari benchmark e test.

Intel Core i5-9600K - sei cores e sei threads

Abbiamo già testato l'Intel Core i9-9900K e il Core i7-9700K, ma ora è giunto il momento di mettere alla prova il fratello minore. Il Core i5-9600K è un chip hexa-core basato sull'architettura Intel Coffee Lake, che l'azienda ha introdotto nell'ottobre 2018. Il processore ha un clock di base a 3,7 GHz che può potenziare il Turbo Boost fino a 4,6 GHz, ma non supporta la tecnologia Intel Hyper-Threading, quindi può gestire solo fino a sei thread contemporaneamente. Intel produce il Core i5-9600K e le sue altre CPU Coffee Lake sul secondo perfezionamento del suo processo FinFET a 14 nm, che commercializza come 14 nm ++. Il Core i5-9600K ha un moltiplicatore sbloccato come altri processori della serie Intel K, che rende la CPU relativamente facile da overcloccare. Vale la pena ricordare che il Core i5-9600K richiede una scheda madre con chipset Z390 e un raffreddamento decente.

Il Core i5-9600K dovrebbe essere abbastanza potente per applicazioni esigenti e circa il 10-15% più veloce del suo predecessore, il Core i5-8600K, grazie a miglioramenti architettonici e velocità di clock leggermente superiori. Il Core i5-9600K integra una GPU Intel UHD Graphics 630 che può registrare fino a 1,15 GHz, come può fare con il Core i5-8600K. Quindi, le due CPU dovrebbero avere le stesse prestazioni della GPU e sono abbastanza potenti per giocare ai giochi più vecchi a livelli grafici ridotti.

Intel afferma che il Core i5-9600K ha una potenza di progettazione termica (TDP) di 95 W, ma il processore consuma fino a 150 W e oltre se overclockato. Di conseguenza, si consiglia di utilizzare un refrigeratore più potente se si prevede di overclockare il Core i5-9600K.

Sistema di Test

Abbiamo utilizzato l'ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming come base del nostro sistema di test e l'abbiamo accoppiato con 16 GB di RAM DDR4 di G-Skill. La RAM si trova a 3.400 MHz ed è stata impostata come profilo XMP nel BIOS. Abbiamo lasciato inalterate tutte le altre impostazioni del BIOS fino a quando non abbiamo provato l'overclocking della CPU. Caseking ci ha gentilmente inviato un Raijintek AIO che ha un radiatore a 360° e ci ha anche fornito un case Raijintek a telaio aperto, al quale l'azienda ha aggiunto il logo Notebookcheck, che è stato un bel tocco.

Abbiamo anche equipaggiato il nostro sistema di test con la stessa GPU che abbiamo usato per le nostre recensioni Ryzen 5 e Ryzen 7 per fornire risultati più coerenti con i quali abbiamo potuto confrontare il Core i5-9600K. Abbiamo incluso il consumo energetico di questi componenti nelle nostre tabelle di consumo energetico nelle sezioni successive.

Abbiamo installato Windows 10 su un SanDisk Ultra II da 240 GB e abbiamo equipaggiato il nostro sistema di test con un'unità SSD 905P Intel Optane da 480 GB. Il 905P è un'unità M.2, che utilizza il protocollo NVMe per la trasmissione veloce dei dati.

Benchmarks CPU

Il Core i5-9600K si è piazzato tra le due AMD Ryzen 5 APUs nel benchmark della CPU, anche se ha ottenuto solo l'8% in meno del Core i7-9700K nel benchmark Cinebench R15 single-core. Il Core i5-9600K ha prestazioni relativamente scarse nei benchmark multi-core, principalmente perché supporta meno thread rispetto alle nostre CPU di confronto. L'AMD Ryzen 5 2600X può eseguire fino a 12 thread rispetto ai sei del Core i5-9600K, motivo per cui il primo ha ottenuto il 16% in più nel CB R15 Multi.

Ciclo benchmark Cinebench R15 multi-core

Abbiamo anche sottoposto il Core i5-9600K a un Cinebench R15 Multi loop per verificare quanto bene ha mantenuto le sue prestazioni sotto carico sostenuto. Come dimostrano i grafici che seguono, la nostra CPU di test si è comportata in modo coerente anche dopo circa 40 minuti e 60 passaggi del benchmark del loop.

Il Core i5-9600K ha registrato un clock costante a 4,3 GHz su tutti i core senza strozzature termiche. La CPU ha registrato una media di 998 punti nel nostro CB R15 Multi loop e ha raggiunto un picco di circa 1.005 punti. Si prega di notare che questi punteggi sono inferiori a quello che abbiamo ottenuto nel nostro singolo test CB R15 Multi perché abbiamo eseguito HWiNFO durante il nostro benchmark loop, che ha consumato alcune risorse CPU aggiuntive.

Il Core i5-9600K è adatto per l'uso come CPU di gioco. Nei nostri test di gioco, il processore finisce qualche punto percentuale dietro i fratelli Coffee Lake, anche se non rallenta come ha fatto il nostro campione di test Core i9-9900K. Prestazioni con le Applicazioni

Il Core i5-9600K è finito a metà della nostra tabella comparativa PCMark 10 dietro il Ryzen 5 2600. Il processore Coffee Lake si è comportato relativamente meglio con il vecchio PCMark 8, anche se con le APU Ryzen che scivolano verso il basso nella nostra tabella di confronto.

Il nostro test Core i5-9600K ha funzionato bene durante il tempo che abbiamo trascorso con la CPU, e non abbiamo avuto problemi o tempi di attesa prolungati. Tuttavia, si noterà la mancanza di threads se si eseguono numerosi programmi contemporaneamente o se si lavora principalmente in applicazioni multithreaded. Consigliamo di prendere in considerazione un processore AMD o Intel con un numero di core o thread superiore rispetto al Core i5-9600K se avete bisogno di una CPU per uno di questi scenari, ma la nostra CPU di test è un buon processore gaming economico.

Il Core i5-9600K ha un TDP da 95 W, proprio come i fratelli Coffee Lake. Tuttavia, il consumo energetico aumenta significativamente quando le modalità di risparmio energetico sono disabilitate nel BIOS, che abbiamo ampiamente coperto nelle nostre recensioni Core i7-9700K e Core i9-9900K. Vale anche la pena notare che Intel basa il Core i5-9600K sullo stesso stampo dei suoi fratelli Coffee Lake, ma solo sei degli otto core fisici dello stampo sono attivi.

Il Core i5-9600K consuma una potenza enorme di 134 W in meno in un CB R15 Multi benchmark. Nel frattempo, il processore consuma 61,8 W al minimo, che è alla pari con la sua controparte Core i7. Lo stesso vale quando si gioca, dove il consumo energetico sale a 363,7 W mentre si gioca The Witcher 3 a 1080p su Ultra, che è inferiore di meno di 3 W rispetto a quello che consuma il Core i9-9900K, notevolmente più potente. In breve, tutte e tre le CPU Coffee Lake hanno all'incirca lo stesso consumo energetico durante il gaming.

Abbiamo anche sottoposto il Core i5-9600K a uno stress test, durante il quale si è mantenuto facilmente a 4,3 GHz su tutti i core, mentre le temperature del core hanno raggiunto i 73 °C. Anche HWiNFO ha riferito che la CPU consuma in media 74 W, anche se ha raggiunto brevemente i 79 W.

Overclocking

Il Core i5-9600K ha un moltiplicatore sbloccato, il che significa che è aperto a qualche overclocking, con la scheda madre Z390 che ci dà l'opportunità perfetta per farlo. Con la nostra CPU di prova abbiamo ottenuto un 4,8 GHz stabile su tutti i core, ma siamo riusciti a farlo solo aumentando il voltaggio a 1,35 V. Di conseguenza, il consumo energetico è salito a 96 W al minimo, e le temperature del nucleo hanno superato la soglia dei 100 °C, a quel punto la CPU si è raffreddata per evitare il surriscaldamento. Altri sforzi hanno portato ad un aumento del 10% dei punteggi di riferimento CB R15 Multi benchmarks, che sono saliti a 1.212 punti.

Nel complesso, il Core i5-9600K è overclockable, anche se potrebbe essere necessario ridurre la tensione e la velocità di clock per evitare che la CPU abbia throttling termico come ha fatto il nostro modello di test. Consigliamo inoltre di accoppiare il processore con un dissipatore in grado di gestire il calore aggiuntivo generato. I processori preselezionati Caseking dovrebbero ottenere anche punteggi CB R15 più elevati.

L'Intel Core i5-9600K è una buona scelta per i giocatori che stanno cercando di mettere insieme un sistema Intel senza spendere troppo. Il Ryzen 7 2700 rimane l'opzione più economica e racchiude in due core in più con 10 thread aggiuntivi, ma ha una valutazione inferiore di circa il 15% nei giochi rispetto al suo concorrente Coffee Lake.

Non raccomandiamo il Core i5-9600K se avete bisogno di una CPU da lavoro, anche se la sua mancanza di Hyper-Threading lo rende di gran lunga inferiore nelle applicazioni multithreaded rispetto ai processori AMD e Intel con un numero di thread più elevato.

    L'Intel Core i5-9600K è una CPU hexa-core veloce che è ideale per i giocatori con un budget limitato.

Ci è piaciuto il fatto che la CPU abbia consumato molta meno energia rispetto al Core i7-9700K.
