La GeForce GTX 1650 è la più piccola scheda grafica basata su Turing, destinata ad acquirenti attenti al budget. La GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus di KFA2 è dotata di un connettore di alimentazione aggiuntivo, motivo per cui ha un TGP di 90 watt. Le GPU entry-level basate su Turing si trovano nella serie GTX di NVIDIA. A differenza dei modelli RTX, le schede grafiche GTX non dispongono del supporto per l'accelerazione di ray-tracing basata su hardware e per il super campionamento di apprendimento profondo (DLSS). La mancanza di queste caratteristiche può essere perdonata, dato che le schede video GTX sono molto più lente delle GPU RTX. Dal rilascio dell'architettura NVIDIA e i partner della scheda hanno portato sul mercato molti modelli aggiornati. La KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus (1-Click OC) è uno di questi modelli.

Quella che abbiamo qui è una versione della GeForce GTX 1650 con più unità di mappatura delle texture. La GPU ha ancora 896 cores CUDA. Il passo successivo è la GeForce GTX 1650 Super, che offre un po' più di prestazioni grazie ai suoi 1280 processori a vapore. La differenza maggiore tra i due modelli non Super è la configurazione VRAM. La GTX 1650 EX Plus di KFA2 ha 4 GB di VRAM GDDR6 più veloce con una larghezza di banda di memoria di 192 GB/s. Tuttavia, tutto ciò presenta uno svantaggio. Il modello KFA2 richiede 15 watt di potenza in più, per questo motivo è dotato di un connettore di alimentazione a 6 pin. La GPU può assorbire solo 75 watt di potenza dallo slot PCI.

Al momento della recensione, la scheda grafica può essere acquistata a partire da 130 Euro (~$154) da vari rivenditori online. La scheda video è dotata di una porta DP 1.4, una porta HDMI 2.0b e una porta DVI.

Il nostro banco prova è basato su AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

Il nostro sistema di test si basa su una piattaforma AMD attuale. La Crosshair VIII Hero WiFi dell'Asus ROG è usata come scheda madre. La CPU, nota come AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, offre molte prestazioni. I Core Clocks della KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus (1-Click OC)

Il modello KFA2 ha core clocks inferiori rispetto al modello di riferimento. Tuttavia, utilizza una VRAM GDDR6 più veloce. Il numero di TMU è stato aumentato da 56 a 74, il che dovrebbe portare ad un significativo incremento delle prestazioni rispetto alla vecchia GeForce GTX 1650. Per eliminare i colli di bottiglia della potenza, il TGP è stato portato a 90 watt, il che permette alla GPU di ottenere clock boost stabili di 1605 MHz nel nostro caso particolare. Proprio come quasi tutte le altre GPU KFA2, la GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus è dotata della funzione 1-Click OC. Può essere attivata nell'utility nota come Xtreme Tuner. In questo modo i clock delle GPU aumenteranno di 30 MHz. Questo è un passo nella giusta direzione, perché spesso la funzione 1-Click OC offre solo un incremento di 15 MHz. A nostro avviso, un aumento di 50 o 75 MHz del core clock in combinazione con un aumento simultaneo della velocità della memoria sarebbe stato più sostenibile. Tuttavia, la velocità di memoria non viene modificata.

L'aumento delle prestazioni che la KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus mostra nei benchmarks sintetici ci porta ai benchmark di gioco. In generale, il nuovo modello è più veloce della versione precedente della GTX 1650. Questo non è sorprendente, perché il nuovo modello è dotato di VRAM più veloce. L'AMD Radeon RX 570, che è marginalmente più veloce nei gaming benchmarks, richiede molta più energia. Questa è la prova che la tecnologia sta andando avanti.

Non ci sono stati problemi termici con la KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus. Durante la prova di stress, le temperature hanno raggiunto un picco di 67 °C (152,6 °F) ed entrambe le ventole assiali hanno funzionato al 57% della loro velocità massima. La KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX Plus è una versione migliore della GeForce GTX 1650.
