Samsung promised it would start rolling out the Android 13 update to eligible devices sometime in October. The ongoing One UI 5.0 beta program received its fourth and final update not too long ago, indicating that a stable release was around the corner. Tutto Android reports that users in Italy will be able to download the One UI 5.0 update on their on October 24. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Flip4.
The One UI 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra arrives with the S908BXXU2BVJA firmware. It is nearly 2.9 GB in size, which is understandable, given the number of changes it brings. Currently, only users in Italy are in line to receive One UI 5.0. Germany should receive it next, as it is often one of the first markets to get new software/security updates from Samsung.
Samsung detailed several key One UI 5.0 features via a dedicated blog post. It includes many QoL improvements, such as faster animations, new icons, full-screen widgets, additional customization options and granular control over notifications. The update also bumps up the Android security patch to October 2022.
