GPD Win Max 2021 handheld gaming laptop review: Ryzen 7 slower than Core i7

Per il gaming, Intel è più veloce dove conta.

Il Win Max sembra ottimo sulla carta e il suo formato portatile è attraente per il gaming portatile, ma ci sono abbastanza inconvenienti per noi per frenare questo dispositivo da $1000 USD UMPC Windows 10.

Ci piace il concept di un UMPC Windows 10 che è abbastanza potente per il gaming a 720p e il Ryzen 7 4800U è in grado di fornire su questo fronte. Tuttavia, l'attuale pacchetto che circonda il processore ha bisogno di un'aggiustatina. Lo chassis scricchiola troppo per il comfort, la gamma di movimento sui piccoli joystick è troppo stretta, il touchpad è nervoso, non c'è una webcam integrata, e il nostro lettore MicroSD non funziona nemmeno. La WLAN integrata è lenta per gli standard odierni, DP-over-USB non è supportata, e il display è piuttosto economico, senza supporto per la sincronizzazione adattiva.

Le prestazioni sono ammirevoli e persino paragonabili all'ultimo raccolto di Ultrabooks Tiger Lake. L'hardware e il display che circondano il processore, tuttavia, hanno bisogno di una maggiore messa a punto per poterlo davvero battere.

La lunga durata della batteria, il rumore della ventola relativamente basso senza modalità Turbo, e il soddisfacente feedback dei tasti meritano un elogio. Tuttavia, la lunga lista di problemi minori diventa più difficile da ignorare più tempo passiamo con il Win Max. Si raccomanda di scegliere la versione Core i7 per massimizzare le prestazioni gaming, mentre la nostra versione Ryzen 7 sarà ideale per massimizzare le prestazioni della CPU multi-thread.
