Recensione del Minisforum EliteMini TH50: PC desktop compatto per l'uso quotidiano in ufficio

Come produttore di sistemi, Minisforum è ormai un nome familiare per molti, anche se il produttore cinese non è ancora molto diffuso in questa parte del mondo. Il portafoglio prodotti spazia dai mini-PC IOT ai dispositivi da ufficio e ai computer da gioco compatti. Abbiamo già potuto conoscere alcuni sistemi della serie EliteMini. Tuttavia, una APU di AMD ha servito come base per questi PC finora. Ora, l'EliteMini TH50 si basa su un SoC Intel Tiger Lake e quindi offre ancora più opzioni di utilizzo.

Il Intel Core i5-11320H è un SoC solido e offre una solida base. I record non saranno battuti con questo processore, ma le prestazioni dovrebbero essere sufficienti per l'uso previsto. Equipaggiato con 16 GB di RAM DDR4 e un SSD da 512 GB, Minisforum ci ha fornito il modello di punta. Il produttore fa pagare 669 dollari per questa configurazione. L'EliteMini TH50 è disponibile anche in versione barebone senza SSD. Tuttavia, il prezzo di 629 dollari senza SSD non è un gran risparmio. Bisogna anche considerare che nessuna licenza di Windows è inclusa nell'acquisto senza un dispositivo di archiviazione di massa. Inoltre, 16 GB di RAM sono sempre installati nell'EliteMini TH50 perché sono saldati sulla scheda.

Il Minisforum EliteMini TH50 viene consegnato in una scatola robusta con gli accessori adatti per rendere il sistema operativo. L'alimentatore è compatto ed eroga 65 W tramite USB-C. Inoltre, c'è una piastra di montaggio per il fissaggio a un display (montaggio VESA) nella fornitura. Internamente, il dispositivo può essere equipaggiato con due dispositivi di archiviazione di massa aggiuntivi da 2,5 pollici.

Caso e attrezzatura

La struttura del Minisforum EliteMini TH50 assomiglia molto a quella del Minisforum Elitemini HM90. Il case è fatto di un corpo in alluminio, che dà al sistema una buona stabilità. La parte superiore e inferiore sono in plastica, che si abbina bene alla base in alluminio in termini di colore. In termini di colore, deve piacere la combinazione di argento e bianco, dato che non ci sono alternative. Il sistema non offre alcun punto forte dal punto di vista ottico, ma non deve, dato che la funzionalità è molto più importante

Parlando di raffreddamento in primo luogo: questo era già abbastanza convincente nell'EliteMini HM90. Il principio rimane lo stesso anche questa volta. L'aria fresca viene aspirata sul lato superiore e condotta fuori dal case attraverso il radiatore sul lato.

Il dispositivo può essere aperto facilmente attraverso la piastra inferiore. Quattro viti fissano la piastra di base al case. Tuttavia, non c'è molto da vedere sotto. Il modulo WLAN così come l'SSD possono essere scambiati. Inoltre, altri due drive di dati da 2,5 pollici possono essere memorizzati nel dispositivo. Questi sono fissati direttamente alla piastra di base e collegati alla scheda con cavi corti.

In termini di connessioni esterne, l'EliteMini HM50 offre diverse opzioni per collegare dispositivi aggiuntivi. Sono disponibili un totale di sei interfacce USB-A, che dovrebbero essere più che sufficienti. C'è anche il supporto Thunderbolt 4 a cui possono essere collegate soluzioni di docking esterne, consentendo così una vasta gamma di opzioni per espandere la connettività dell'EliteMini TH50. Abbiamo anche testato una soluzione GPU esterna per vedere quali prestazioni di gioco ci si può aspettare con questo piccolo sistema. Ci sono anche due porte Ethernet 2.5G insieme a una HDMI e una DisplayPort. Chi usa anche la porta Thunderbolt per l'output di immagini può pilotare fino a tre display contemporaneamente con l'EliteMini TH50.

Avviso importante

C'è una porta USB-C sul retro, che è destinata all'adattatore di alimentazione. Minisforum indica esplicitamente di non collegare l'adattatore di alimentazione alla porta Thunderbolt 4. Dopo aver contattato il produttore, è stato confermato che collegando l'alimentatore in modo errato, il sistema non si avvia e la scheda madre si danneggia irreparabilmente.

Prestazioni: Riserve sufficienti

Il Minisforum EliteMini TH50 è alimentato dal Intel Core i5-11320H. Questo SoC è supportato da 16 GB di RAM DDR4 e quindi offre una buona base per la maggior parte delle applicazioni. Il veloce SSD NVMe offre 512 GB di spazio di archiviazione nella nostra configurazione e dovrebbe essere sufficiente per la maggior parte degli utenti. In alternativa, l'EliteMini TH50 è disponibile anche con un SSD da 256 GB. Tuttavia, raccomandiamo ancora di optare per la variante da 512 GB a causa del basso potenziale di risparmio

Processore

Il Intel Core i5-11320H appartiene alla serie Tiger Lake e proviene dalla demografia dei laptop. Il frugale SoC offre quattro core nativi e otto thread con un TDP di 35 W. Le prestazioni single-core sono abbastanza positive e spesso sono solo pochi punti percentuali peggio della concorrenza con SoC molto più veloci. Tuttavia, l'EliteMini TH50 deve lasciare che i contendenti con sei e otto core vadano avanti nei benchmark multi-thread. Ciononostante, il nostro campione di test si comporta bene e per lo più si piazza con il Intel NUC10i7FNH

L'Intel Core i5-11320H è specificato con un consumo energetico di 35 W. Tuttavia, abbiamo potuto documentare un consumo energetico del SoC fino a 48 W sotto carico per un breve periodo. Tuttavia, questo è solo di breve durata a causa del turbo del SoC. Sfortunatamente, nessuna ulteriore regolazione del limite di potenza può essere impostata nel BIOS del Minisforum EliteMini TH50. Questo è stato il caso anche dei sistemi basati su AMD, quindi ci si aspettava un'opzione simile per l'EliteMini TH50
