Questo notebook da 14" di Hewlett Packard è dotato di un'APU AMD Ryzen 5 2500U con una potenza più che sufficiente per tutte le applicazioni per ufficio e Internet e di una GPU Vega 8 integrata che offre prestazioni molto più elevate rispetto alla controparte Intel UHD Graphics 620. Questo, a sua volta, è molto vantaggioso per le applicazioni che dipendono dalle prestazioni della GPU ed i giochi. Sfortunatamente, la ventola si è rivelata un fastidiosa  e stridula.

Il sistema è stato molto scattante grazie a un veloce SSD NVMe M.2-2280, e il notebook può essere equipaggiato con un ulteriore HDD da 2,5 pollici. La cover inferiore deve essere rimossa per poter accedere a entrambi gli alloggiamenti dei dischi - un'operazione che si è rivelata molto semplice. La tastiera retroilluminata era perfettamente utilizzabile. Tuttavia, la durata della batteria era inferiore alla media. Un notebook da 14 pollici deve offrire di più.

Hewlett Packard non si è fatta un favore con la sua scelta del display per il ProBook.

Mentre i suoi angoli di visualizzazione erano ampi e più che decenti, e il suo rivestimento opaco e il suo rapporto di contrasto decente erano una sorpresa positiva, la luminosità massima era terrificante. Valori di meno di 200 nits sono semplicemente troppo bassi per un notebook da 14 pollici che molto probabilmente verrà utilizzato in varie posizioni e in varie condizioni di illuminazione. Inoltre, la distribuzione della luminosità del display era piuttosto scarsa.

La domanda è: Quale ProBook da 14 pollici dovreste comprare? La risposta dipende dalle vostre esigenze specifiche. Il ProBook 440 G6 basato su Intel offre prestazioni della CPU più elevate (più in scenari di carico a thread singolo che multithreaded) e una maggiore durata della batteria. Il modello basato su AMD offre prestazioni della GPU più elevate a un prezzo inferiore (al momento della scrittura era più economico di ogni ProBook basato su Intel).
