A parte le differenze nelle specifiche (Skylake, DDR4, USB Type-C, NVMe, etc.) tra l'UX501VW e l'UX501JW, l'ultima revisione ha una autonomia maggiore ed alcuni aggiornamenti al display che ora ha un contrasto maggiore e colori più profondi. La luminosità massima è diminuita per qualche motivo, ma non è un problema per l'utilizzo indoor. 

In generale, gli utenti dovrebbero aspettarsi essenzialmente lo stesso livello di performance dall'UX501VW come dall'UX501JW.

Il Dell XPS 15 9550 è un'eccellente alternativa all'UX501VW con specifiche simili e nella fascia di prezzo da $1500. E' molto più portatile rispetto al nostro Asus ma fornisce la stessa potenza grafica per i giochi, sebbene con temperature di superficie più elevate, autonomia inferiore, e ventole complessivamente più rumorose. Se il costo è un problema, potete optare per il vecchio UX501JW senza temere un grosso calo di prestazioni durante il gaming.
