Il NucBox 2 non sta cercando di essere il più piccolo mini PC e nemmeno il più veloce. Invece, è un'offerta di fascia media senza fronzoli con una CPU Core i5 decente, una GPU Iris Plus per il supporto dual 4K60, e abbastanza RAM e storage per andare avanti per scopi HTPC. Il rumore della ventola è più silenzioso dell'Intel NUC, soprattutto quando si eseguono carichi più elevati.
A differenza dei kit barebone che costano circa lo stesso, il NucBox 2 viene fornito con tutto il necessario per iniziare e con spazio per una facile espansione in caso di necessità.
La dipendenza da un adattatore AC proprietario invece di una soluzione USB-C più standard rende il NucBox 2 meno universale. Ci piacerebbe vedere più porte USB-C sui modelli futuri o anche un alimentatore integrato per evitare del tutto un adattatore AC esterno. Una mossa del genere sarebbe davvero superiore alla concorrenza, dove gli adattatori esterni a volte possono essere grandi quanto i mini PC stessi.
