It offered 45W H-series processors and dedicated graphics in a world where if you wanted those things, you’d have to look toward gaming laptops. In more recent years, laptops like these have become more common. NVIDIA launched its Studio program, and more OEMs are targeting creators with separate lines of PCs from their gaming laptops. But while the form factor is becoming more common, the Dell XPS 15 remains on top. The XPS 15 9510 comes with new Intel 11th-generation 45W processors, along with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, making it the first XPS 15 with RTX. On top of that, it comes with other perks, such as the return of the OLED display and the Frost and Arctic White interior. Not only is it a great PC, but it’s beautiful too. The big downside of course, is it still has a 720p webcam.

The Dell XPS 15 OLED 2022 (starting at $1,449, $2,299 as tested) isn’t an innovative or revolutionary laptop. Aside from its updated internals, it’s virtually identical to the Dell XPS 15 OLED 2021. But while this machine isn't shaking things up, it's still one of the best laptops and best Windows laptops you can buy. All models of the refreshed Dell XPS 15 pack the latest 12th gen Intel Core CPUs and come bundled with Windows 11. Higher-end configurations feature an Nvidia 30-series GPU. Like last year's iteration, Dell offers a model with a 3.5K OLED touch display. Not only is this a stellar laptop for everyday use, but it’s also a competent gaming machine. All models of the refreshed Dell XPS 15 pack the latest 12th gen Intel Core CPUs and come bundled with Windows 11. Higher-end configurations feature an Nvidia 30-series GPU. Like last year's iteration, Dell offers a model with a 3.5K OLED touch display. Not only is this a stellar laptop for everyday use, but it’s also a competent gaming machine. Though it’s admittedly pricey, it’s hard to argue against its impressive performance. It can handle almost anything you throw at it.

Dell XPS 15 9530 review – it doesn’t even need to be changed

To be honest, the XPS 15 9530 is not a regular laptop. And it shouldn’t be treated as such. If we do that, it might appear that this is not a particularly good machine. Take the crude numbers from the temperature test for example. Looking at them, you won’t be able to see how quietly the device performed, even when the “Ultra Performance” profile was used. However, in real life, the machine does exactly what you need it to. It comes with a comfortable keyboard and touchpad, as well as fantastic speakers. The 3W woofers produce a vibration like no other. That’s definitely not bad for a device that hasn’t changed a bit in the past three years (or more). Thankfully, its battery life is so long that you can comfortably work for two days straight if you don’t have anything intensive to do on your laptop. All in all, this proves that despite the zero effort from the design department this year, and the mild change in generations, the Dell XPS 15 9530 is still one of the best workhorse devices you can get.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile:
Scheda grafica dedicata di media gamma per computer portatili che utilizza un chip Turing TU117 senza raytracing e nuclei Tensor. Dovrebbe essere leggermente più veloce di una GTX 1650, ma è anche disponibile in diverse varianti con un TGP che va da 55 - 80 Watt (e due pacchetti).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q:
Scheda grafica dedicata di media gamma per computer portatili che utilizza un chip Turing TU117 senza raytracing e nuclei Tensor. Funziona a velocità di clock ridotte rispetto a un portatile GTX 1650 Ti per ottenere un consumo energetico molto più basso (35 contro 50 - 80 Watt).

Intel A370M: L'Intel Arc A370M è una scheda grafica dedicata mobile entry level basata sulla microarchitettura Xe HPG. Offre 8 core (128 ALU), 8 unità di ray tracing e un core di base di 1550 MHz. Il TGP è specificato tra 35 e 50 Watt.
Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

i7-10750H:
Un processore hexa-core ad alte prestazioni progettato per i computer portatili più spessi con spazio per migliori termiche. Il processore Comet Lake-H è prodotto sul processo Intel di terza generazione a 14 nm e dispone della iGPU UHD Graphics 630 con clock da 350 MHz a 1.150 MHz. I core della CPU funzionano a 2.6 GHz (velocità di clock di base) con boosting fino a 5 GHz e la probabile frequenza Boost all-core è di 4.3 GHz. Il supporto Hyper-Threading è abilitato, permettendo a due thread di funzionare simultaneamente su ogni core.
