Quindi, per rispondere alla nostra domanda iniziale, conviene risparmiare 300€ e acquistare questo modello OnePlus 13R al posto del OnePlus 13? Anche se sulla carta le differenze potrebbero sembrare grandi, io vi posso dire che all’atto pratico la distanza tra i due modelli e molto più piccola di quello che si possa pensare. La vera differenza la possiamo sentire nel comparto fotografico, dove OnePlus 13 offre un set più versatile di fotocamere. Ma è anche vero che negli scatti quotidiani, soprattutto quelli con il sensore principale di OnePlus 13R, è difficile notare delle differenze sostanziali tra i due modelli.

Il prezzo di OnePlus 13R, nell'unica versione disponibile 12/256GB, in Italia è pari a 769 euro e non lo so, non mi convince. OnePlus 13 costa 250 euro in più, è vero, ma è un'altra cosa pur considerando che prestazioni, display e autonomia sono comunque ottimi solo che per avere anche le foto al top sceglierei il 13, per risparmiare invece preferirei un medio di gamma come OnePlus Nord che tanto come prestazioni va bene comunque. Ecco, oppure a questo prezzo sceglierei il Realme GT7 Pro.

A 769€ per la versione da 256GB, OnePlus 13R rappresenta un’offerta molto competitiva per un telefono potente oggi ma anche tra anni grazie ai 4 anni di aggiornamenti software garantiti. La batteria da 6000mAh è un mostro di autonomia: con un uso intenso, incluso gaming e foto, arriva tranquillamente a fine giornata. Il 13R brilla particolarmente per chi cerca un telefono veloce e affidabile, capace di reggere sessioni di gaming e di fare foto soddisfacenti. Non è perfetto – l’ultrawide potrebbe essere migliore e manca la ricarica wireless – ma sono compromessi accettabili considerando il prezzo. Se volete uno smartphone che non vi faccia spendere più di 800€ ma vi dia prestazioni da 1000€+, questo fa per voi. È la prova che OnePlus non ha perso il suo tocco nel creare “flagship killer” che offrono un valore eccezionale: rispetto al fratello maggiore OnePlus 13, 13R punta su una batteria più capiente e un prezzo più accessibile mantenendo comunque prestazioni di alto livello.

Se il modello dello scorso anno era fortemente penalizzato dalla concorrenza interna, OnePlus 13R riesce a ritagliarsi uno spazio decisamente più confortevole: intendiamoci, lo street price attuale di OnePlus 12 è comunque una discreta gatta da pelare per uno smartphone che esce con un prezzo di listino (non proprio economico) di 769€ e non può dirsi superiore in tutto al flagship del 2024, ma i segnali positivi non mancano. OnePlus 13R accompagna dunque i piatti forti della casa (display e software in primis) con un'autonomia aumentata, un comparto fotografico finalmente al passo coi tempi e un supporto più duraturo, proponendo un'offerta completa che può dire la sua in una fascia di prezzo molto combattuta.

OnePlus 13R si è comportato piuttosto bene durante la nostra recensione, anche considerando il prezzo di 769 euro. La differenza rispetto al fratello maggiore (che invece ha un cartellino a quattro cifre) si vede soprattutto nella fotocamera più prestante, con stabilizzazione ottica per i video. Ma anche se ha display e processore peggiore sulla carta, nell’uso quotidiano si difende piuttosto bene: vedrete le differenze solo in un confronto diretto. In altre parole, arriva giusto a un passo da un buon top di gamma, per 260 euro in meno. Detto questo, la verità è che la fascia di prezzo sotto i top di gamma è sempre più nutrita: ci sono diversi rivali a questo smartphone che offrono alternative ottime. E il fatto che costi 70 euro di più rispetto al 12R dell’anno scorso non aiuta, sebbene siano tutti giustificati da diverse migliorie tecniche.

Per una prima fase di lancio sono previste promozioni interessanti come l‘omaggio dello smartwatch OnePlus Watch 2R, o delle cuffiette true wireless OnePlus Buds 3 Pro. Così come avviene per tutti i telefoni di fascia medio-alta da qualche parte bisogna risparmiare, ci sono brand che scelgono di farlo sul comparto hardware, sul display, sulla batteria, altri, come OnePlus, che storicamente si rivolge ai più “smanettoni”, che ha ha preferito curare maggiormente gli aspetti tecnici legati alle performance e alla multimedialità, rinunciando però ad un comparto fotografico all’altezza della situazione.

In conclusione il OnePlus 13R è un buon telefono e se calerà di prezzo attorno ai 500€ siamo certi che venderà tantissimo. Ad oggi, a 769€, rischia di essere completamente eclissato dal precedente OnePlus 12 che ha dalla sua la ricarica wireless, delle foto e video da top di gamma, un display migliore, microfoni migliori e tutto sommato lo stesso SoC. Sì, OnePlus 13R ha 500mAh in più di batteria, ha una gestione delle temperature migliore, ma ciò non giustifica l'acquisto di fronte allo stesso prezzo. Insomma OnePlus rischia di farsi la "guerra in casa", perlomeno fin quando non ci sarà un calo di prezzo o OnePlus 12 non uscirà di scena (ad oggi è ancora acquistabile dal sito ufficiale).

Is the OnePlus 13R a great package? Yes. Is it complete value for money? Yes. Has it improved over last year's 12R? Yes. The new OnePlus 13R is definitely worth the upgrade. It gets better cameras, a larger battery with longer life, better build quality, longer software support, and other minor improvements. As for alternatives, I can only think of a few. There's the newly launched Oppo Reno 13 Pro (Review), which costs higher but lacks in key areas such as performance and battery life. There's also the Xiaomi 14 (Review), which gets the same chipset, offers better cameras, a compact design, and also costs about a little higher. You can also go for the iQOO 12 (Review), which, although older, still offers great performance and a decent camera setup.

All in all, the OnePlus 13R is a capable all-rounder with excellent performance, long battery life, dependable camera hardware, fast enough charging and exceptionally loud speakers. The 13R easily covers all bases without necessarily breaking the bank too. Having said that, the ultrawide and selfie cameras keep us from giving the 13R an excellent score in this department and alternatives seem to be better at taking stills and videos. Also, even if the maximum brightness is sufficient, most other displays in this price bracket are brighter.
