Esteticamente, stiamo parlando di un prodotto estremamente bello, ma dobbiamo riconoscere che il suo pregio principale è sicuramente il suo software, in particolare per la qualità dell’interfaccia utente. come anticipato, abbiamo qualche perplessità in più sulla efficienza del processore e la batteria un po’ risicata imporrà sicuramente di avere sempre un caricatore a portata di mano, per ogni evenienza.

I pieghevoli a conchiglia sono telefoni che si comprano per moda o per specifiche necessità, come un volume diverso dell’ingombro o per effettuare tante videochiamate e usare il telefono stesso come supporto (cioè da semi-piegato). Finora i limiti maggiori di questi telefoni erano tre: la resistenza e la visibilità della piega dello schermo interno, e la poca praticità dello schermo esterno che costringeva sempre all’apertura del dispositivo. In una prova di oltre 15 giorni del telefono, usato quotidianamente, non possiamo parlare per la resistenza nei mesi a venire dello schermo pieghevole (che comunque non ha manifestato alcun problema durante la recensione), ma possiamo certamente dire che la piega è generalmente meno visibile, si sente meno al tatto e, soprattutto, lo schermo esterno svolge la sua funzione in modo egregio.

I pieghevoli a conchiglia sono telefoni che si comprano per moda o per specifiche necessità, come un volume diverso dell’ingombro o per effettuare tante videochiamate e usare il telefono stesso come supporto (cioè da semi-piegato). Finora i limiti maggiori di questi telefoni erano tre: la resistenza e la visibilità della piega dello schermo interno, e la poca praticità dello schermo esterno che costringeva sempre all’apertura del dispositivo. In una prova di oltre 15 giorni del telefono, usato quotidianamente, non possiamo parlare per la resistenza nei mesi a venire dello schermo pieghevole (che comunque non ha manifestato alcun problema durante la recensione), ma possiamo certamente dire che la piega è generalmente meno visibile, si sente meno al tatto e, soprattutto, lo schermo esterno svolge la sua funzione in modo egregio.

Motorola Razr 50 Ultra è disponibile in Italia nelle colorazioni Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Peach Fuzz e Pink Peacock al prezzo di 1.199 euro ma chi lo ordinerà entro il 31 luglio potrà attivare online la promo "Display Protetto" per avere 1 anno di riparazioni gratuite in caso di rottura accidentale sia dello schermo interno che di quello esterno oltre a poter usufruire del "Trade In" e a poter acquistare ad un prezzo speciale anche le cuffie true wireless Moto Buds+. Il miglior pieghevole oggi in commercio, secondo me l'usabilità beneficia tantissimo dei 4 pollici esterni e lo promuovo per questo, anche se le fotocamere non convincono al 100%.

Il prezzo per possedere questo piccolo gioiello è onesto e adeguato a quanto offerto, invariato rispetto a un predecessore che invece non riusciva, seppur ottimo, ad essere così rasente la perfezione. Crediamo molto in Motorola, in Lenovo e nel loro serio progetto: ci auguriamo che le promesse di costanti e repentini aggiornamenti, primo tra tutti quello imminente pieno di AI, vengano mantenute, come crediamo: se così fosse Motorola risulterebbe serio candidato a tornare ai fasti del passato. Abbiamo spesso citato in questa lunga recensione Razr 40 Ultra, a oggi unico serio concorrente di Razr 50 Ultra per via del suo prezzo aggressivo, aspettando di provare Razr 50 nella versione base, che promette altrettanta qualità, ma ovvia meno completezza.

Il Motorola razr 50 Ultra segue le orme di quello che era già un modello abbastanza valido, ossia il razr 40 Ultra, proponendo però delle novità che lo rendono ancora più valido di prima. Il mercato globale dei dispositivi pieghevoli (sia a conchiglia che di grandi dimensioni) non è ancora molto affollato di alternative, anche se ci sono ancora alcuni nomi da menzionare. Il contendente più ovvio proviene da Samsung: l'attuale Galaxy Z Flip5 dovrebbe venire sostituito la prossima settimana dal suo successore Z Flip6 e dunque il confronto con l’attuale sembra forse un po’ fuori luogo. Di fatto al momento questo razr 50 Ultra sembra vincere sul Samsung almeno per quanto concerne il display esterno, decisamente più ampio, scenico e più fruibile nel quotidiano.

Motorola Razr 50 Ultra è uno smartphone che, allo stesso prezzo della precedente generazione, migliora pressoché ogni aspetto. Ciò non è scontato poiché le varie migliorie possono non sembrare così lampanti prese una ad una ma nell'insieme creano il flip phone in commercio, quello più completo ed appagante da utilizzare. Le fotocamere restano ad oggi l'unico aspetto dove la differenza con un top di gamma "classico" è avvertibile, ma è anche vero che le fotocamere di un flip hanno una versatilità unica grazie al display esterno e alla modalità stand che sbloccano metodi di utilizzo unici. Insomma 1199€ per la versione 12/512GB sono in linea generale tanti, come per qualunque smartphone, ma parliamo comunque di listini e di prezzi in linea con la concorrenza.

The cover screen is even larger and more usable, water resistance is now class-leading, and the new camera hardware is very capable – although image processing still isn’t quite as consistent as some rival clamshells. Battery life is very good, and performance is absolutely on the level I’d expect from a flip flagship. I love Moto’s open approach to running apps on the cover screen, too; the approaching Galaxy Z Flip6 looms large, but Samsung’s widgets-first approach isn’t nearly as useful. If Motorola can sort its long-term software support, this is really all the flip phone anyone could need.

Costing $1,699 in Australia, pre-orders for Moto’s latest flip phone start on 2 July ahead of its 17 July launch date. Anyone who pre-orders between 2-16 July also gets a set of Moto Buds+ valued at $249. This year’s range comes in three colours: Midnight Blue, Spring Green, and Peach Fuzz – 2024’s Pantone Colour of the Year. Overseas, Motorola also revealed a non-Ultra version of the Razr 50, and the Moto Tag tracking device, neither of which have been confirmed for Australia yet. Motorola might have a winner on its hands with the Razr 50 Ultra; it not only fixes the few complaints we had about its predecessor but it continues to improve in key areas like the cover screen experience – areas where competitors like Samsung still need to improve. The decision to ditch the ultrawide for a telephoto lens may be a controversial one, but I think it plays well into the selfie-first focus for clamshell foldables in general. I’m certainly going to enjoy fully testing this phone out in the coming days, so head back soon for the in-depth review.

The Razr 40 Ultra was a very capable clamshell foldable with just a few minor imperfections. This new generation addresses some of those complaints and brings yet other improvements. Most notable, perhaps, is the introduction of a proper IPX8-rating, which brings the Razr's water resistance up to the Galaxy Z Flip level. The Moto is without competition in its market segment when it comes to charging speed, its displays are likely the best in its class, and its speakers are better than most (foldables or otherwise). The software implementation on the cover screen is one 2x button in the camera UI short of perfection, and Hello UI is easy to like in its entirety as well. Motorola is taking a bit of gamble with the camera setup - or is it a calculated strategy?

Both phones received meaningful updates across the board without costing more, which is good news in this time of rampant inflation. The only questionable change is with the Razr+ (2024), which drops the ultrawide shooter for a telephoto camera. You’ll have to stay tuned for our full review to find out if this is a dealbreaker or not. The $999 Moto Razr+ (2024) will be available for pre-order on July 10 from T-Mobile, AT&T, Motorola.com, Amazon, and Best Buy, and will be available for purchase from these stores on July 24. This seemed very cool, and it was an Android offering to compete against Apple Intelligence. However, like Apple Intelligence, it isn’t available yet, but I’m eagerly waiting for Motorola to release this feature. The Motorola Razr+ is available for pre-order on July 10th and comes out at select carriers and retailers on July 24th for $1,299.99. I need to spend some time with the Razr+ before deciding whether that price is worth it. However, my first experiences with the device have been incredibly positive, and I’ll share more about my thoughts in the coming weeks.

It’s early days, but the Razr 50 Ultra seems to have doubled down on everything that made the previous generation such a great flip phone. The cover screen is even larger and more usable, water resistance is now class-leading, and the new camera hardware seems capable enough at first glance. Battery life is an unknown, and I’ll need to test those cameras in low light to see how well they compare to the current crop of clamshells. The approaching Galaxy Z Flip 6 looms large, too – but unless Samsung has changed its approach to running apps on the outer screen, I have a feeling this will be the more usable phone of the two.

Motorola Razr 50 è uno smartphone pieghevole moderno ed elegante, capace di portare in sé l’essenza della lunga esperienza del produttore in merito ai flip phone ad un prezzo di listino nettamente inferiore alla concorrenza, interna ed esterna. Rappresenta un enorme step evolutivo rispetto al predecessore Razr 40 che rinunciò a un display esterno utilizzabile e di ampie dimensioni per far fronte a un minor prezzo, a differenza invece di Razr 50 dove i compromessi sono ben pochi e di minore impatto nell’esperienza quotidiana. Motorola astutamente va a riprendere l’estetica e le funzionalità di Razr 40 Ultra, andando a aggiornare il comparto fotocamera con un sensore di miglior qualità, un OS moderno e completo, una maggiore autonomia e introducendo, cosa non da poco, protezione IPX8 e ricarica wireless.

Il Motorola Razr 50 arriva sul mercato nell'unica versione 8/256GB di storage a ben 899€, troppi per un prodotto che monta un Mediatek Dimensity 7300X. Seppur questa scelta abbiamo notato come ci permetta di avere una autonomia incredibile siamo certi che uno Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 non si sarebbe allontanato di molto, offrendo però più potenza nel caso servisse. Lo street price, escluse offerte folli come quella iniziale di TIM, è già attorno ai 700-800€ quindi più competitivo. Ci aspettiamo nel giro di qualche mese un prezzo attorno ai 500-600€, decisamente più a fuoco e che potrebbe rendere questo Motorola Razr 50 il "miglior flip phone" da consigliare un po' a tutti, poiché le rinunce rispetto agli altri non sono poi molte, se non nulle. Bene comunque Motorola che riesce a proporre due prodotti simili esteticamente e nel concetto ma con due target di utenza ben distinti.

It's a novelty, sure, but whether you're interested in the smaller folded form factor or you find this sort of device fashionable, it's pretty great to see a clamshell phone as good as this one available for just $700 — and that's before Motorola's inevitable sales. While I think most Android Police readers would be better served by the $1,000 Razr+, if you're interested in picking up a foldable without breaking the bank, this new Razr might be the way to go.

It looks like the Motorola Razr (2024) will be a pretty cool upgrade to last year's Razr. Just adding that 3.6-inch screen but keeping the price at $700 already sounds like a gamechanger. That said, if you do own a Razr (2023) — you're fine. However, people that are new to the foldable space and don't feel like spending $1k on the new concept may find this device has enough to hook them in and keep them as Moto fans. Right now, we hope the camera gets some love since the Razr (2023) was lacking in that area.

Motorola:

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Qualcomm Adreno 735: Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet, integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tra le altre cose, integra un veloce Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" con una frequenza fino a 3 GHz e 4 core aggiuntivi veloci Cortex-A720 da 2,8 GHz. Dimensity 7300X: Dimensity 7300X è un processore di fascia media con modem 5G integrato. La parte CPU integra quattro core ARM Cortex-A78 con un massimo di 2,5 GHz e quattro core di potenza Cortex-A55 con un massimo di 2 GHz. Il SoC è prodotto con il moderno processo a 4 nm. Rispetto al Dimensity 7300, il 7300X è destinato ai dispositivi con display multipli, come gli smartphone pieghevoli.
