La cura con cui è realizzato e l'attenzione a tanti dettagli, dall'audio ai microfoni, dal touchpad più grande allo schermo ben calibrato, dal risveglio istantaneo alle prestazioni quasi raddoppiate, lo rendono davvero appetibile per una più ampia fetta di utenza. Per questo certe mancanze pesano ancora di più, come il numero sempre limitato di porte (ma finalmente con USB-C) o il display che è rimasto praticamente invariato in termini di luminosità/qualità. Manca poco, ed anche se il prezzo è un po' più caro della media (soprattutto con gli "upgrade"), può valere lo sforzo.

Nel vastissimo panorama dei portatili c'è un modello per ogni esigenza. Il Surface Laptop 3 15" offre un bilanciamento ben riuscito tra portabilità e prestazioni, tra design e prezzo. Con la stessa cifra si può avere di più sotto il cofano ma ci si allontana da un'esperienza d'uso così riuscita. Fin da quando si solleva il coperchio tutto fila liscio: si scrive con la massima comodità, si muove un touchpad molto preciso e si guarda su uno schermo ampio e molto bello, con l'hardware capace di far girare il tutto fluidamente. È piuttosto compatto per un 15" ed anche particolarmente leggero, si mette in borsa senza fatica e si prende con un mano senza slogarsi il polso. Tutto nel Surface Laptop 3 15" è studiato per piacere, dall'estetica pulitissima all'ottima qualità costruttiva, ma è nella cura del dettaglio che davvero si apprezza.

Considering that this is the first flagship portable to come with this AMD and Microsoft collaboration, it was supposed to show what a non-Intel powered laptop can do. Unfortunately, this notebook is not much of a change. Its performance won’t impress anyone though it does come with refinements in power efficiency. In fact, it doesn’t stand out much from the pack other than its stellar battery life, the best this line has seen. Owners of older Microsoft Surface Laptops might wonder whether to make the upgrade to this model. Well, that depends on what you need from your upgrade. It makes sense to get the 3 if you’re happy with amazing battery life and a larger screen. But, if you need better performance, there are other places to look, most notably its successor, the Surface Laptop 4. If you are interested in the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3, you should be able to find some good deals on it.

I think the Surface Laptop 3’s sleek aesthetic continues to be worth indulging, and the performance, though not earth-shattering, helps set the Laptop’s bar higher. Those who are more inclined towards brutalist efficiency should also consider looking at recent introductions like the Acer Swift 3—there’s a lot of functionality there for under $1,000, even if you won’t like the display and keyboard as much. Lenovo’s ThinkBook is also worth considering.

Overall, the Surface Laptop 3 15 is a great laptop. It keeps all of the design cues of the smaller generation and just makes it a bit bigger, retaining the same thin & light design and keeping it easy to travel with. Microsoft has forged a solid partnership with AMD, and the Ryzen APU that's at the heart of this laptop brings with it great GPU performance and good CPU performance, even though it is at the cost of overall battery life. Plus, if you have been eyeing up the previous generation Surface Laptop 2 and were held up due to the USB situation – or uncertainty about the Alcantara keyboard deck – the new generation does offer fixes there, which makes the Surface Laptop 3 a much more palatable device.

Finally, as this is a Surface device, numerous weird bugs have come and gone throughout my testing period. I’ve already mentioned the display auto brightness bug, but I’ve also seen aggressive battery drain, fans ramping to 100 percent while charging, and the trackpad randomly stop scrolling in apps. Most of these bugs go away after fully shutting down the laptop and restarting it, but they are all frustrating things to experience in the first week of using a brand-new laptop. Microsoft typically does update its Surface devices with bug fixes and patches on a regular basis, so hopefully things will have settled down a few months from now, but right now, the Laptop 3’s experience can be hit-or-miss.

Overall, this is an expected upgrade but one Surface Laptop fans will appreciate. One of the best Windows 10 alternatives to the MacBook Air and Pro 13, though the likes of the Dell XPS 13 also do a good job at filling that spot. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 for Business that we tested today runs $1,599 shipped as it has the double the RAM and SSD size over the base model and may be worth the extra cash as 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD seems a must on premium devices as we enter 2020.

No two ways about it, the Surface Laptop 3 (13.5in) is an exceptionally good laptop. It's very light, slim and good looking, with performance across the board that’s a match for the best in the business. It's more practical than previous models, with non-Alcantara options that won’t get grubby, and a good spread of specifications means you can choose a model that suits your requirements and not pay more than you need to. As with most products, there is the odd area of weakness. It's high time Microsoft moved to wide-gamut displays on its hardware and, ideally, I'd have liked to see a Thunderbolt 3-equipped USB Type-C port, rather than plain old USB 3. It's also a touch disappointing that Microsoft has provided only one Type-C port. But these are relatively small complaints. If you want a laptop for work and, maybe, a little play, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is a brilliant option with very few significant shortcomings.

No two ways about it, the Surface Laptop 3 (13.5in) is an exceptionally good laptop. It's very light, slim and good looking, with performance across the board that’s a match for the best in the business. It's more practical than previous models, with non-Alcantara options that won’t get grubby, and a good spread of specifications means you can choose a model that suits your requirements and not pay more than you need to. As with most products, there is the odd area of weakness. It's high time Microsoft moved to wide-gamut displays on its hardware and, ideally, I'd have liked to see a Thunderbolt 3-equipped USB Type-C port, rather than plain old USB 3. It's also a touch disappointing that Microsoft has provided only one Type-C port. But these are relatively small complaints. If you want a laptop for work and, maybe, a little play, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is a brilliant option with very few significant shortcomings.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
