The Legion 5i Pro from last year was an excellent laptop and this year it has only gotten better. The improvements might be minor, but the new Legion 5i Pro is definitely one of the top recommended gaming laptops for 2022. The combination of Intel’s latest processor and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 GPU ensure the best performance and high-quality graphics experience. The display is bright, crisp and super responsive while gaming. Even the design, although a bit dull, is very solid and should last its lifetime without any issues. The laptop is also loaded with a respectable set of I/O ports and the keyboard is a joy to type on. It also gets marks for serviceability, though the bottom panel is a bit tricky to open. The only concern that one might have is the battery life, as some AMD-based counterparts are definitely more efficient. Other small nitpicks include a below-average webcam and the lack of any biometrics for secure login. Overall, the Legion 5i Pro is definitely worth your money if you are looking for a reliable and powerful gaming laptop.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is the sweet-spot gaming and performance laptop of the 2021 generation, and that's no easy feat. It checks almost all the important boxes and sells for a very competitive price in this Ryzen 7 + RTX 3060 configuration. While still not without some quirks, few other products can match it in overall value; just make sure you're OK with its size and weight.

Let’s wrap up this review of the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. From everything I’ve discussed so far, it’s pretty clear that I’m a big fan of this gaming laptop. It has quite a sturdy build quality, a stunning display, powerful performance, and an effective thermal solution. Sure, Lenovo hasn’t delivered a perfect gaming laptop as evident from the mediocre battery life and the “springy” keys. But those are a couple of dismissable aspects for a device in its category. Compared to the standard Legion 5, the Pro variant is easily worth the extra money. And if you’re looking for something with a little more pizzazz, then the Lenovo Legion 7 with its even more premium build quality and all the RGB lighting looks like a decent option as well.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro does best what its supposed to do -- gaming. With the RTX 3070 GPU and Ryzen 7 5800H at disposal, this can do the latest titles at the highest graphical presets with ease, although you may need to dial down the resolution for keeping the frame rates around 60 fps average. While the design may seem c conservative for a gaming laptop, it makes up for it up with a great display. Most importantly, the Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3070 is selling at a bargain price of INR 1,70,000. The MSI GP76 and HP Omen 15 with Ryzen 7-RTX 3070 combo come close but Lenovo offers double RAM at 32GB and an industrial design. If you have got this much money to spend on a gaming laptop, you have to consider the Legion 5 Pro.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is hands down one of the best gaming laptops we've ever tested, showing that the Legion line can absolutely go toe-to-toe with its better known peers. Where it falls short of the very best, it still outperforms the rest in its class, and taken overall, its reasonable price makes it hard to find a better value.

The Legion 5 Pro is one of stronger picks among 2021 gaming laptops for performance, price, thermals and display quality. It’s available with NVIDIA RTX 3060 and 3070 graphics (not Max-Q and with a mux switch). The laptop has beefy cooling, good build quality with an aluminum casing and an RGB keyboard. It competes with the Alienware m15 R5, Asus ROG Strix 15 and forthcoming Intel 11th gen gaming laptops.

Even if you compare it with other gaming laptops from ASUS ROG, Predator, or MSI in the price range, I'd still choose the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro because of features like the 16:10 aspect ratio. Also, the ports for most gaming laptops are either on the left or right side, so having them behind is a bonus for me. That said, if you prefer desktop PCs, you're better off in the long run with building your own PC using that amount of money.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU on the Legion 5 Pro punches above its weight-class and literally shows what max-out is. It’s an interesting design choice but what could be necessary to realize the full potential of the NVIDIA RTX 30 Series on laptops, pushing them to their absolute limits, and as our charts show, even beyond.

Our Lenovo Legion 5 Pro review shows that it’s one of the most powerful gaming laptops we’ve reviewed so far in the Philippines and is wholly capable of playing AAA games in their highest settings past 60 FPS. It also benefits from many of NVIDIA’s technologies that are present in the desktop versions of their cards, including better ray-tracing performance and DLSS 2.0. If you’ve been looking to jump in on NVIDIA’s RTX 3000 series but found local pricing for cards prohibitively expensive, then buying the Legion 5 Pro might be the next best thing.

Lenovo has taken some unusual design decisions with the Legion 5 Pro, and we’re pleased to report that they’ve mostly worked out well. The display is superb. The extra height delivers welcome real estate for games and work. The resolution is high enough to provide crisp gameplay which can be handled by the included GPU, it delivers exceptional brightness and good color accuracy. You’ll only want something better if you need a faster display for high-end esports or creative work, and both will cost loads more. Lenovo’s machine has a comfortable, quiet keyboard, solid connectivity, and it’s got decent internals -- of course, there are various configurations available that seem to be priced competitively. The graphics core will handle almost any gaming task, and the processor is quick even if it doesn’t achieve its full potential. That’s about all we can ask for from a laptop at this price, and the Legion manages to keep the noise down to reasonable levels in most mainstream situations. As ever, there are some areas where this laptop doesn’t quite succeed.

This won’t be the last gaming laptop to have poor battery life, though, and the Lenovo impresses in plenty of other departments. The 16:10, high-resolution screen has fantastic quality, the components are fast, and the chassis is robust and well connected. Its fans can get loud and the trackpad is disappointing, butthose issues aren’t dealbreakers or unique to this machine. There’s an awful lot to like on this laptop, from the powerful components to the large, impressive display, especially at this price.

All told, the Legion 5 Pro is an excellent laptop. It looks nice, it’s built well, and it’s fairly priced, considering the options you have available. You’ll easily pay more for a Razer Blade 15 Advanced and about the same for the Alienware m15 R4. While the latter includes a 4K display, you hit diminishing returns over QHD resolutions on a laptop screen. Lenovo’s Legion brand name doesn’t hit as hard as, say, Razer, Alienware, or Asus ROG, but this laptop proves that Lenovo means business. If gaming laptops are your thing, the Legion 5 Pro is worth keeping in mind.

The new Legion 5 is yet another great option in this increasingly contested section of the laptop market. It’s capable of superior gaming performance than both the Acer Nitro 5 and the Asus TUF Dash F15 and it also comes within striking distance of the far pricier Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 as well. It’s not just about gaming, though: the Legion 5 both looks and feels like a more upmarket device than the Nitro or the Dash, although granted the former is £300 cheaper and the Asus does have a better sound system and longer-lasting battery life. If it was my money, however, then I’d say the Lenovo just about edges it. I mostly use headphones while gaming anyway and usually have my laptop plugged into the wall no matter what I'm doing. And besides, the Legion 5’s unmatched gaming credentials massively outweigh any of its minor setbacks.

But if you can understand why the laptop is “so thick” (cooling) and would rather spend your money on hardware that plays games, the Legion 5 Pro offers a refreshing take. It’s still a thick and heavy laptop in Lenovo’s brutalist style, and the fans are loud when you play games, and the battery basically isn’t worth talking about because when you play unplugged, you’ll get two hours max. But it offers gamers a portable, high-performance platform, with the flagship features that matter: display, graphics chip, and high-speed SSD. There are gaming laptops that feel more special than the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, and there are gaming laptops that are cheaper. But the price-performance balance here is worth your consideration. Just don’t let the competitors distract you with their pretty lights.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is an excellent gaming laptop, a match for something like the Alienware m15 R6 in most respects, but it costs less. Its screen is excellent and, largely thanks to Nvidia DLSS, higher-resolution displays in laptops like this no longer seem frivolous luxuries. There are just two potential problems: you may find the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro a bit dull if you'd choose to put RGB lighting into your toaster; the touchpad is a weak point too - it's a plastic pad that doesn't match up to the quality of the other parts. This one feels like it wants to spend most of its time rooted to a desk with a separate mouse plugged in, though, so that second point may not matter too much. Because, without doubt, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is one of the best gaming laptops to arrive in 2021.

All-in-all, I feel like it checks the right boxes for the mainstream gamer. For the entry-level, you can still look toward Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming, HP Pavilion Gaming, Acer Nitro, or something along those lines. If you’re an enthusiast gamer, then you probably already know this isn’t the machine for you. You’re probably looking at laptops that have all-new ways of innovative cooling, more powerful graphics, RGB lighting, and more. The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro fits right into that mainstream. This is where you want the performance for a great gaming experience, but you don’t quite want to sacrifice the benefits of a great productivity experience to get there.

As I said, some of the only caveats I can find with the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16 is its less than stellar battery life and its heavier build. But, for the most part, the laptop is still a very solid performer. Of all the AMD Ryzen-powered gaming laptops I have tested this year, the Legion 5 Pro 16 is a reminder that you don’t necessarily have to amputate your limbs in order to own a top-end gaming laptop. Even if the very best NVIDIA GeForce mobile GPU Lenovo can offer is seemingly just an RTX 3070, but that is, in my opinion, more than plenty to comfortably run the majority of today’s triple-A titles. If that isn’t enough, remember that you’re also getting a large 16-inch display with a higher-than-average refresh rate, as well as slightly more screen real estate, thanks to its 16:10 aspect ratio. All this can be yours for less than RM9000.

There is lots to like about this machine, although the snips made to push the price down are sure to rankle some. The battery life is well below par, the thermals could do with refinement, and the webcam would look retrograde on even a five-year-old machine. But, if you’re going to stick this on a desk, keep it constantly plugged in to power and never do more than the odd Zoom, does any of that matter?

From ThinkPads to Yogas, Lenovo has earned a reputation for making quality laptops. It's why the company sells more notebooks than any other brand. However, gaming is one segment where Lenovo lags behind some of its rivals. The Legion 5 Pro has convinced me that it could change that. Yes, the design is bland, but Lenovo's other wildly popular products are successful because they address function before form — much like the Legion 5 Pro. The Legion does get a yellow card caution for some warm temps under a heavy load and it's a hefty rig compared to sleeker rivals. If you're looking for something more travel-friendly, consider the 4.2-pound Asus ROG Zephyrus G15. Otherwise, the Legion 5 Pro is an excellent option for gamers who want the best performance for the price.

The recently reviewed Legion 5 Pro is, in our estimation, a stand-out choice at £1,500, and in the £1,000 to £1,300 bracket, the Legion 5 plays an important supporting role. Giving users a more affordable path to eight-core Ryzen 7 5800H processing and dedicated GeForce RTX graphics, the second-tier model delivers a familiar performance punch with a few specification downgrades that most gamers will be happy to live with.

Lenovo's Legion 5 Pro ($1,529.99 as tested) delivers the latest AMD and Nvidia technology in a chassis that's a bit of a throwback to the bulky gaming laptop days of yore. Given the power it possesses, however, you might not care that the Legion's more than an inch thick and that its design is a bit drab. It's built around an expansive 16-inch QHD (2,560-by-1,600-pixel) display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which sits between more popular 15.6- and 17.3-inch panels with 16:9 ratios. The Lenovo teams an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics, and off to the races it goes—it outclasses its Intel competition in multithreaded benchmarks and is also a step ahead of the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5, which features the same CPU and GPU pairing.

There's no such thing as the perfect gaming laptop, but on the balance of play, Lenovo gets enough right for the Legion 5 Pro to be deemed a stand-out choice at the £1,500 price point. An eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor and up to 140W GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop graphics make for an enviable combination, but what really makes the laptop shine is the 16:10 Dolby Vision display. Just be aware that as with all gaming laptops, there are inevitable trade-offs. In this instance they include a hefty 2.5kg weight, middling battery life, noisy fans, and the absence of biometric security. Bottom line: stock might be hard to come by, but if you're willing to wait, Lenovo's Legion 5 Pro is an early contender for best gaming laptop of 2021.

While those issues aren’t total deal breakers, this laptop isn’t available at the moment anyway. Lenovo currently lists it as temporarily unavailable, and it’s not available from 3rd-party sellers either. We reached out to Lenovo to confirm this, however more units should be available from Lenovo direct and from Walmart near the end of June or beginning of July. In the meantime, something like the Asus ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage Edition or HP Omen are great alternatives to this Legion laptop. Both have comparable configuration options for close to the same price, or cheaper. The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Gen 6 is an incredible machine that, excluding a few design choices, hits all the right notes: Decent battery life, snappy keys, high-end performance, vibrant display, and so many connectivity ports. If you need a laptop for both gaming and creative work, this one can go the distance.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro makes a lot of things seem easy. At its core, it’s a gaming laptop that plays games very well. But it also has a wonderfully expansive 16-inch QHD (technically WQXGA, since it’s 2560 x 1600) resolution display that’s great for gaming and other use cases. Notably, this is a 16:10 aspect ratio screen, and my eyeballs appreciate the luxury of having more stuff to look at without needing to scroll or resize windows to fit within view. Lenovo’s combo of a taller, high-resolution screen is what you’ll want in your next gaming laptop, even if you don’t know it yet.

Lenovo was the latest manufacturer to hop on the 16-inch train. Personally, we feel that it is the perfect size for productivity or gaming on the go, as it is not too large to be carried around. Yet, it is larger than the more common 15.6-inch form factor. Something that we were missing inside of the notebook was an SD card reader. Although the device has an abundance of ports, including 4x USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ones, there is no Thunderbolt certification because of the limits of the chipset. Ultimately, there are some compromises you have to make when buying this laptop. However, we feel that there you can work around most of them, and the core package is good enough to be recommended.

The Legion 5i Pro is a mid-range gaming machine, but you won’t be disappointed with this notebook. The device has a solid build quality, reasonable keyboard, nice display with a 165Hz refresh rate, and powerful hardware. But it’s far from perfect. Its not-so-accurate plastic touchpad annoyed me, and the battery life could have been better. You can also check out the Legion 5 Pro, the model with an AMD GPU. It’s a lot cheaper, but the performance isn’t any less compared to that of the Intel variant.

Don’t get me wrong. Overall, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a great laptop… for the most part. While it performs great for basic day-to-day tasks, you’ll get the best gaming performance by reducing the 2560×1600 resolution to 1920×1200 with the base offered GTX 3050 video card. I’d recommend getting at least the RTX 3060 or 3070 graphic card to fully enjoy higher resolution gaming if you have the extra money.

This Lenovo left us with mostly positive feelings. It’s a little bit bigger compared to a standard 15.6″ device but we really like the extra added display area because of the unorthodox screen ratio. Because of the smaller bezels, it’s hard to notice any difference in size than a regular 15-incher. Speaking of size, the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro (16″) isn’t a porker but it’s not a compact device by any means. It’s a laptop that is suitable mainly for desk usage or if you want to take it somewhere else with you a car’s trunk seems like a cozy place for transportation. The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro (16″) is a solid gaming package. It has a good build quality, nice keyboard and touchpad, a 2560×1600 display, you can configure it with powerful hardware, and the cooling solution is doing its job in a good way. Like most devices, this one has its flaws and that will be the lack of SD card, as well as the fact that the shell warms up a lot during stress.

The Lenovo Legion 5 has a lot going for it but there are a few drawbacks that we noticed like the Wi-Fi signal would drop significantly with a little increase of the distance from the router; the rear Type-C port supports Thunderbolt, but we were unable to get an external monitor to work with our model. For the price, it sports a good build but we would have liked it to have a bigger trackpad and an aluminium chassis; and a rather mediocre speaker setup. Overall, the laptop brings a good package to the table but at a higher price. Lenovo’s Legion 5 arsenal also has AMD Ryzen offerings which perform better while not being that heavy on the wallet. Hence, we think that this can be a good gaming laptop to grab during a deal.

Lenovo’s Legion line of gaming laptops has been putting out bangers for years. Back in 2021, we reviewed the previous model of this laptop - the RTX 2060-equipped Lenovo Legion 5i - and were generally impressed by the solid performance and fair pricing. More recently, we awarded the Legion 5 Pro a rare 5-star review, again citing its excellent gaming capabilities and sensible price tag. We’re pleased to report that having spent some time with the most recent 2022 model of the Lenovo Legion 5i, it remains able to trade blows with the best gaming laptops and packs a punch despite its humble appearance. The model we tested came with an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, which puts it pretty squarely in the mid-range space as far as gaming laptops go. There’s a variety of other models with different processors and GPUs, all of which look to offer a comparable price-to-performance ratio to our review unit.

The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is fast in games and applications, it’s very sturdy, and it has an impressive display – it’s a great option if you need a mainstream gaming laptop. That said, it’s heavier and thicker than rivals and battery life could be better, so this isn’t the rig for you if you want something portable and long-lasting.

As aforementioned, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (2022) could start from RM8,299. That's a difference of RM1.5K from its predecessor's starting price! Assuming that's the real price tag, I believe most hardcore PC gamers would rather spend that money building their own gaming PCs. To be frank, the laptop's performance and price point are 'overkill' and you can get other 2022 gaming laptops at a lower price albeit with slightly lower specs.

The Legion 5i Pro is the closest you can get to a gaming laptop that can function as a desktop replacement in the Philippines. The 12th-gen Alder Lake-H processors offer a massive performance increase over the previous generation, though its massive size and abysmal battery life mean that the Legion 5i Pro is best used while plugged in.

The 2022 edition of the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro 16” gaming laptop hits Gen 7 with that still lovable 16” QHD+ 16:10 aspect ratio display, strong performance and a chill aluminum design that’s office-friendly. This is the Intel 12th gen version that brings Thunderbolt 4 and strong gaming performance, so don’t count it out vs the Ryzen version. It’s available with NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti, 3060 and 3070 Ti GPUs, a Core i7 with 14 cores, Wi-Fi 6E, ample ports and a responsive keyboard. The 165Hz 2560 x 1600 display now supports VRR (variable refresh rate), and the laptop has a mux switch.

Last year, the Legion 5 Pro was my favorite mid-tier all-purpose laptop of its generation. This year, the Intel-based Legion 5i Pro has big shoes to fill, and offers a significant boost in CPU performance, a slight bump in GPU and combined performance, and a cleaner redesign, while keeping the series's other strong points, and at the same time not tackling its quirks. Are these changes enough to justify a higher price tag and shorter runtimes on battery vs. the 2021 models? Probably not, unless you truly need that powerful CPU for your workloads, and I'll explain why in the detailed review down below.

The crowning glory for this Lenovo Legion is the Vantage software and the Q Control function that allows you to switch power and cooling modes in an instant. This system works well as it is supported by the new Legion ColdFront 4.0 cooling system which allows the Core i7-12700H CPU to run at an impressive speed. While we were impressed by the Performance mode we found it was too noisy to be practical and recommend most users should stick with Auto mode which balances performance, cooling and noise levels very satisfactorily.

2022 has been a fantastic year for gaming laptops, and the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is up there as one of the best. For its price, you’re getting a power-packed system in a sleek chassis with decent battery life, excellent thermal performance and plenty of ports for all your gaming needs. That’s not to say it’s perfect: the webcam is pretty pants (though we’ve come to expect that from gaming laptops), there are no biometric security options, and the SSD is a little slower than its competition. But while others brought interesting innovations to the table, such as the convertible nature of the Asus ROG Flow X16, Lenovo stuck to its guns and just gave us a damn good gaming laptop.

The all-aluminum body is also thick and heavy, even for a 16-inch gaming laptop, at just over one inch thick and 5.5 pounds. I've been traveling with it in my backpack, and constantly packing and unpacking it whenever I need to use it has already started to cause a tiny bit of wear on one of the corners. This is a beast of a machine, but I wish it had more of a premium look and feel, especially in the webcam and touchpad. That said, especially at the current discounted price, it represents an excellent value, and if you get one with upgraded internal storage, that will make it much easier to use as a full-time gaming machine.

There are a couple of aspects here that left me wanting more, however. The paltry 16 GB of ram and a rather meager 512 GB of storage meant I spent a fair bit of time swapping data on the drive as I ran through the test suite; Borderlands 3 and SPECviewperf easily take up half that space. Fortunately there is an open M.2 slot for additional storage, and that just makes me want to find a drive to add to my testing toolkit. I don't think you should typically look to immediately spend more money when you buy a laptop, yet here I was. Speaking of price, I had spent some time looking for this specific model on the Lenovo website and could not find it, although I did manage to find a similar model priced at just under $2000 USD. That's significant value, hard to ignore, and makes the small RAM and drive sizes that much easier to swallow. Yet I'd still be looking for upgrades, and the end user may do so too. This class of laptop deserves 32 GB of RAM with a 1 TB SDD, and a sub-$2500 price tag, I think you can get yourself exactly that.

With all of that said, I can highly recommend this generation’s Legion 5i Pro for users who to invest in a laptop but also want to be confident that their unit lasts throughout that period. This should apply for those of you easing back into office work and need a modern system to keep up with that pandemic gaming PC you may have built over the past 2 years. Or you may be a student that want something that could last with you thru college and maybe get beat-up a bit. This is where Lenovo’s value proposition shines in that even non-tech savvy individuals can enjoy their laptop to its maximum gaming potential while being protected by an industry-leading, comprehensive support system that is yet to be matched to this day. The Legion 5i Pro 2022 starts at Php119,995 for the Intel Core i7-12700H+RTX 3060 model and is available now with the RTX 3070 Ti configurations available later this month or early next month. The model we’re reviewing today with an Intel Core i7-12700H with 16GB of DDR5 memory and an RTX 3070 Ti will have an SRP of Php139,995.

Obviously, the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro isn’t for everyone. If it was, it would be the only product that Lenovo makes. If you’re looking for a creator laptop, there are much better options. I’d say to go with something that has an OLED display, and then has similar internals to the Legion 5i Pro. And if you’re looking for enthusiast-level gaming, check out the Legion 7i.

The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen 7 isn't the very fastest gaming laptop you can buy, but it's extremely fast and fairly priced. Moreover, it's a stylish and well-built pick for productivity and creative work when not playing games, with an appealing screen and keyboard and all the connectivity you could want. A configuration with 1TB or 2TB of storage rather than our test unit's 512GB might have scored an Editors' Choice award. Even without one, this Legion shows why 16-inch gaming rigs are putting the hurt on traditional 15.6-inch models.

The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is a performer, keeping up with laptops sporting faster CPUs and GPUs. It’s a solid 1440p gaming machine that can also handle demanding productivity and creativity tasks. Given its conservative (if somewhat jumbled) aesthetic, you could use the laptop in the workplace without standing out. At $2,000, it’s also a relative value given its powerful components, too.

Lenovo has done the impossible with the Legion 5 Pro. It has developed a near-perfect gaming laptop at an inconceivably low price, and while its subpar battery life will give some pause, it’s an exceptional feat in design. With phenomenal performance scores, excellent gaming metrics, solid speakers, a sturdy chassis and hinge, decent display and easily the best laptop keyboard I’ve ever used, it’s a reigning champion on most fronts. If you need something with excellent battery life that maintains this laptop’s jack-of-all-trades nature, the Razer Blade 14 is an easy recommendation. However, its price is shocking, unless you’re willing to spend more than $1,000 extra. Otherwise, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a phenomenal feat in gaming laptop design.
