The Infinix Zero 5G offers a good combination of features on paper, which is what got my attention in the first place. The things going in its favour are the powerful 5G SoC with support for a good number of 5G bands, good battery life with relatively quick charging, and an above-average telephoto camera. However, the performance of the rest of the cameras and the awkward software experience make this phone hard to recommend. If you're really after a good telephoto camera at around this price range, then I recommend spending a bit more and getting the Motorola Edge 20 (Review). It has an equally powerful 5G SoC but with a 3X telephoto camera, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and an IP52 rating. If you need to stick to a budget of Rs. 20,000, then you have excellent options such as the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G (Review) and Realme 9 5G Speed Edition (Review) to choose from.

The Infinix Zero 5G smartphone is a decent smartphone with a huge battery, full HD screen, decent camera, and processing speed. While many smartphone makers are busy removing features such as a 3.5mm jack, chargers, and important sensors, the Infinix Zero 5G provides you with almost everything a modern smartphone should have. Everything from its stellar performance to its excellent cameras, including a telephoto sensor, makes this phone an absolute joy to use. Whether you are an avid gamer, a photographer, or a binge-watcher, this phone has almost everything to satisfy your needs. If you can ignore the latest OS, gyro-EIS, and wireless charging, you can definitely go for this phone. In case you are looking for an alternative option, check out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11E Pro smartphone.

With 5G poised to become more accessible to provide faster internet speeds and lower latency, owning a 5G-enabled smartphone like the Infinix ZERO 5G puts you ahead, so you can play smoother, stream faster, and use online social services such as teleconsultation and government services with no hiccups.

The Infinix Zero 5G brings 5G connectivity and decent performance to the table for a budget price, but the trade-offs place the phone well behind the Pocos, Redmis, and Realmes of this world. Its design might look fresh from afar, but it feels quite cheap and plasticky in the hand. That cheap feeling extends to the company’s XOS 10 UI as well, which has to be one of the least appealing Android skins currently around. Props to Infinix for trying a different approach with its camera system, but dropping the ultra-wide entirely for a mediocre zoom lens doesn’t seem to have worked out all that well. Regular shots from the 48Mp main sensor are a little hit and miss, too. While the Infinix Zero 5G is a perfectly competent budget phone, it fails to build on the encouraging start made by the Infinix Zero X Pro in late 2021.

Infinix has been one of those brands trying hard to make its own place amongst the consumers in India. Realme, Oppo, Vivo, & Samsung seem to be its biggest competitors in the segment in which Infinix generally launches its smartphones. The brand seems to upping its game with the launch of its newest Infinix Zero 5G. The Zero 5G from Infinix comes at Rs 19,999 for its single 8GB + 128GB variant. However, the on-paper specifications include some of the first in its segment, such as a Dimensity 900 SoC. The Reno 7 with this SoC is priced at Rs 28,999. Infinix’s main competitors in this price range include iQOO Z5, Vivo T1 and the recently launched Realme 9 Pro. Does Infinix Zero 5G prove to be better than its alternatives? Let’s have a look. The Infinox Zero 5G is a decent device for its price where you are getting LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Moreover, the device has a distinctive design in its segment and software has improved a lot but there is still scope for further improvement.

There’s a lot of promise for the Infinix Zero 5G in the Philippines, especially if Infinix gives it an under Php 15k price tag. The display may be average at best, but having a telephoto camera and a Dimensity 900 processor makes the Zero 5G a possible disruptor in the market. We still do not know the official price of the Zero 5G in the Philipines, but a listing at the brand’s official Shopee store reveals an SRP of Php 11,999 and a promo price of Php 10,999. If that’s true, Infinix disrupts the 5G segment significantly–the Dimensity 900 processor alone makes the Zero 5G an instant winner, as it is an SoC found on mid-range phones priced at above Php 20k.

The lack of widespread availability makes it hard to endorse the Infinix Zero 5G wholeheartedly. At the same time, if you’re in a region where it’s available, or you’re willing to give it a shot despite the lack of official US support, the Zero 5G is an impressive and fun device! Infinix has impressed us several times with its affordable, stylish, and powerful Android phones. Now they’re taking things to the next level with the Infinix Zero 5G, their first 5G Android device! Sure, it’s got a speedier connection, but does it live up to the high bar set by its predecessors? Read on to find out!

The Infinix Zero 5G is an exciting smartphone that excels in some areas while falling short in others. The software could be better, the speaker could be louder, the camera is only average at best, and the lack of Widevine L1 is a huge letdown. As you are probably aware, the Infinix Zero 5G is not for everyone; it is designed for gamers. The smartphone stands out for its overall performance, quick response, and ability to handle heavy-duty apps. The entire value is boosted by the ultra-slim design and long battery life. This is a no-brainer if you're a big smartphone user who does everything from gaming to video and photo editing.

The Infinix Zero 5G is available at a starting price of Rs 19,999. The phone’s big advantage is the processor it is offering coupled with the faster and more RAM and higher storage space. The battery life is also more than adequate. I also liked the Portrait mode on the camera, but that’s where my praise for the camera stops. The camera and software are the weak points out here. Yes, the phone does have 5G, but India does not have 5G at moment, and it is unlikely to be the case at least for the next one or two years. The problem for Infinix is that the Rs 20,000 space is getting very competitive nowadays. Brands know this is where consumers are shifting in terms of spending. For Infinix, the challenge will be to stand against options such as Redmi Note 11 Pro, Pro 11+, Realme 9 Pro, Samsung Galaxy F23, all of which are operating at a similar margin.

Infinix Zero 5G was announced in February 2022 as the latest 5G smartphone in the upper mid-range segment by the Infinix brand. The Zero 5G cost around $250 (Rs 19,000 in India) approx which comes with few power-packed features according to its price segment. The phone delivers a 6.78 inches IPS LCD display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and 5G connectivity. The 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset powers the phone and can reach a cloaking speed 2.4GHz at max supported by Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The Infinix Zero 5G renders on Android 11 OS with XOS 10 user interface and the device is available in single 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage UFS 3.1 variant while you get a dedicated card slot for more storage. The phone has a rear camera of 48MP wide, 13MP telephoto, and a 2MP lens that can record videos up to 4K at 30 frames per second. The 16MP selfie can record videos only up to 1080p resolution but no support of gyro-EIS is available on this phone.

The Infinix Zero 5G is an interesting smartphone that does some things extremely well while barely making the cut in some other departments. The software needs improvement, the speaker requires a boost, the camera is average at best and lack of Widevine L1 is definitely disappointing. But there are positives as well. The overall performance, fast response and propensity of undertaking heavy duty apps makes the smartphone really stand out. And the really sleek design and great battery life adds to the overall value. If you are a heavy smartphone user and do everything from video and photo editing to gaming, this is a no-brainer. But if you’re a casual user who prefers to take a lot of pictures or watch tons of movies and series, maybe not the best pick for you.

The Infinix Zero 5G keeps up with appearances thanks to a nearly flawless design and smooth performance. Unfortunately, for the price of Rs 19,999, the device is about average in all other aspects such as display and camera quality while its software implementation isn’t too great either. In comparison, the Moto G71 packs nearly the same performance metrics while offering a much cleaner UI and a better camera experience. The Zero 5G’s price tag makes it one of the most processing-focused phones in the market though, and you can consider it if its good performance and stylish design appeal to you.

Considering all of this, we can't wholeheartedly recommend the Infinix Zero 5G. Some troubling hardware corners were cut in its creation, and some unfortunate camera issues managed to further soil the experience. If the latter is addressed with software updates, we'll be far more willing to give it the thumbs up. If history is any indication, though, we'll likely see Infinix release a replacement model instead.

ARM Mali-G68 MP4:
