Toshiba’s laptop division turned into Dynabook a couple of years ago, but the X40-J range is the first to introduce a change in the overall design. It retains an attractive if understated dark-blue finish, but there are now thin silver outlines on the power key and trackpad. These match the silver metal hinge, which stretches almost the entire width. Also, while it sticks to a familiar aluminium chassis, the plastic base has a classy pinstripe effect. If you’re a mobile professional looking to outfit your team with a solid, durable laptop that looks good and gets the job done, the Dynabook Portege X40-K is a solid choice for your mobile productivity employees. And we’re never going to say no to a comfortable keyboard. However, for the price. I’d expect a display with better brightness and color accuracy as well as a faster SSD and slightly longer battery life. And if you do a lot of video conference calls, you’re going to need to purchase an external webcam. Dynabook Portégé X40L-K review: An ultra-light business laptop that gets a lot right

I was positively surprised at a lot of what Dynabook did with the Portégé X40L-K. It’s a very nice-looking laptop that’s also very light and easy to carry, it has a tall display perfectly suited for productivity work, and one of the best keyboards I’ve used. It even has a very loud speaker system, which I did;t expect to be a focus on a business laptop. Performance is also solid, and battery life, while not great, is a bit more tolerable than other machines I’ve reviewed.

90% I commuted with this laptop for a week, and its power, robustness, and connectivity didn't fail to impress

At the end of the test, I was once again impressed with the processing and, to be honest, the GPU power afforded to the Dynabook Portégé X40-M by the Intel Core Ultra 5. It's able to handle Windows 11 Pro as well as any machine that I've tried, and when it came to Microsoft Office apps from Word to PowerPoint and Excel, this machine was highly optimised, producing one of the best benchmark results that I have seen for the Windows Experience, coming in at 8.3. Most media editing was also extremely well handled, and Photoshop and Lightroom ran surprisingly well, with both opening quickly and enabling quite advanced image edits as well as batched commands without too much of an issue. Having a dedicated GPU might have sped up the process, but if this is all you have to use, then you'll still be impressed by the performance.

Rispetto al più veloce i5-10510U, la cache di livello 3 è stata ridotta da 8 a 6 MB.

I core performanti del Core i7-1260P sono abilitati Hyper-Threading per un totale di 16 thread. Questa CPU di 12a generazione funziona da 1,5 GHz a 4,7 GHz e supporta le caratteristiche vPro di livello "Essentials". Ultimo ma non meno importante, il Core i7-1260P ha una GPU Iris Xe 96 EU integrata, non diversamente da alcune parti Tiger Lake-UP3 di 11a generazione.

i7-1270P:

Una CPU di fascia alta della famiglia Alder Lake-P con 4 core di prestazioni e 8 core efficienti insieme alla iGPU Iris Xe 96 EU. I core della CPU funzionano da 1,6 GHz a 4,8 GHz. Questo i7 è progettato per essere usato in computer portatili ultraleggeri. I suoi core performanti presentano la tecnologia Hyper-Threading che raddoppia i thread per un totale di 16 thread. Il Core i7-1270P ha un TDP di 28 W e supporta le caratteristiche vPro di livello "Enterprise".

i5-1240P:

Una CPU di fascia media della famiglia Alder Lake da 28 W con 4 core di prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. Questo SoC è progettato per essere utilizzato in computer portatili ultraleggeri. I core performanti dell'i5 dispongono della tecnologia Hyper-Threading per un totale di 16 thread. Il Core i5-1240P funziona da 1.2 GHz a 4.4 GHz; ha una GPU integrata Iris Xe da 80 EU e supporta le caratteristiche vPro di livello "Essentials".

Intel Meteor Lake-U:

Ultra 5 225U: Un chip Meteor Lake di fascia media che ha debuttato nel dicembre 2023. Questo processore Core Ultra di 1a generazione è arrivato a sostituire i processori Core di 13a generazione; ha 12 core (8 + 2 + 8) e 14 thread a disposizione. I core Performance, che sono 2, funzionano fino a 4,4 GHz, mentre i core Efficient, che sono 10 (8 core principali più 2 extra che si trovano nella Low Power Island), funzionano fino a 3,6 GHz. L'Intel Arc Graphics a 4 core, appena sfornato, funge da adattatore grafico integrato - funziona fino a 1,90 GHz - e c'è anche una serie di altre nuovissime tecnologie in offerta, tra cui la NPU AI Boost integrata con due motori Gen 3 per l'accelerazione hardware dei carichi di lavoro AI. Sono presenti anche vPro Enterprise e funzioni incentrate sul business, come la cancellazione remota della piattaforma. Il consumo energetico di base di questo processore per notebook è di 15 W, mentre il consumo massimo di energia Turbo raccomandato da Intel è di 57 W.
