The Mini 10 4G is a capable netbook, though it won’t meet he needs of many consumers who want their netbook to pull duty for work and play, it can handle the duties of a companion PC without breaking a sweat. Just keep in mind that the $229 up front price comes with a $409 monthly fee for two-years.

It's so unusable that we're simply astounded it's still there - we complained about it when the original Mini 10 arrived, and never imagined it would be the one part of the chassis that didn't get updated. That's a shame, as the rest of the Mini 10 is rather alluring. Its design is eye-catching, the battery life outstanding, and the media accelerator makes a decent fist of playing HD content. If Dell had opted for the most uninteresting of touchpads, the Inspiron Mini 10 may have earned our recommendation. Instead, it goes down as one of the most frustrating netbooks we've had the displeasure of testing.

If you were to buy the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 directly from Dell with the same specs as the $199 T-Mobile model, you’d pay $329. That’s a savings of $130. But in exchange for that savings you’ll wind up spending $960 over the next two years just for data. That sounds like a lot for a netbook—and it is—but it’s still considerably less than what other carriers charge for their mobile broadband plans. If the touchpad worked better we might be more enthused about this machine, especially since it delivers faster 3G data than the competition. While the Mini 10 with T-Mobile webConnect has some things going for it, the $49 webConnect Rocket USB modem, which you can pair with any netbook or full-size notebook, is a better value.

In a world of drab IT clones, a dash of creativity and a lick of paint can work wonders in grabbing the attention. Dell has long offered a choice of lid designs and finishes on its laptops, and the latest update to the Inspiron Mini 10 follows suit with seven vibrant lid colours for a £35 premium. A swish new design, great battery life and it plays HD video, but the touchpad is truly appalling.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook has been around in various guises for a while, and Dell recently updated the entry-level version of this netbook. Dell’s intentions are in the right place with the Inspiron Mini 10, but a netbook with a tiny screen and limited storage isn’t the ideal platform for a TV tuner. This model didn’t win us over for its design, either. If you’re in the market for a 10.1in netbook, you can do better.

The addition of the Broadcom Crystal HD Media Accelerator chip and a high-def screen for $40 makes the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 a solid choice for those who want increased performance with their netbooks. Even though this system costs $20 more than a similarly configured HP Mini 210, you get much better battery life. However, the Mini 10’s integrated touchpad buttons and excess heat give us pause.

With a slightly revamped design and a new Intel Atom CPU, Dell's popular Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook continues to be a strong player in this crowded field, thanks in part to Dell's name-brand ubiquity, as well as to the company's capability to offer a reasonable level of configuration options. Dell's basic Netbook adds better battery life and the newest Intel Atom CPU, and robust configuration options add a level of flexibility many other Netbooks lack.

The new Dell Mini 10 is a bit thicker and heavier than many contemporary laptops. It measures about 10.5″ x 9.2″ x 1.4″ and weighs just over 3 pounds with a 6 cell battery. But I appreciate the way Dell has designed the laptop so that it looks no different with a 6 cell battery than with a lower capacity 3 cell battery. The shiny, but fingerprint-free lid is also a nice touch. Performance-wise, there’s no real reason to choose the Mini 10 over any other Atom Pine Trail netbook.

Dell’s revamped netbook features a slicker design and excellent battery life, but its touchpad isn’t for everyone. The Inspiron Mini 10 is a solid netbook, especially for those who want to customize the look of their systems and trick it out with plenty of options. It offers a more attractive chassis than its predecessor, better audio and video performance, and over 9 hours of battery life—nearly double the previous generation. Plus, the $369 configuration is cheaper than most other Pine Trail netbooks, with the Acer Aspire One 532h ($349) being the exception. However, the Mini 10’s integrated touchpad buttons and excess heat give us pause.

As a master of the build-to-order PC, it's no surprise that Dell has managed to create a reasonably customizable version of the Netbook. While most vendors offer them as one-size-fits-all solutions (or with only very minor options, such as color and hard drive), the Inspiron Mini 10 has plenty of ways it can become the perfect Netbook for you. Dell's popular Mini 10 is the most customizable Netbook we've seen. Adding extras such as a higher-resolution display makes it more useful, but also blurs the price line between Netbooks and mainstream laptops.

This netbook offers a high-def display and TV to go, but you’ll pay a steep price. At a time when some of the best netbooks cost between $349 and $399, paying $574 for the Dell Mini 10—almost the same price as the Gateway NV—seems too high. However, there is plenty of entertainment value in having a built-in TV tuner, especially if it means a backseat of quiet children on a long car ride. While we’re still nonplused with its finicky touchpad, we’re more than pleased with its excellent screen and keyboard. Factor in its lengthy battery life, and this Dell Mini 10 is a decent choice for those who want their TV on the go.

The Mini 10 netbook gets jazzed up with a stunning design, a beautiful display, and a TV tuner. At $50 more than the original, it's worth the splurge. Compared with the netbook competition, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 with TV Tuner is a winner. The base price is below average, the performance is about average, the design is exceptional, and the TV tuner is downright cool. Even if you purchase the battery upgrade (which you should) and spring for the slick case design, you’re still paying less than the base price of most netbooks. And to boost the value quotient,

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is the polar opposite of the 10v. While the latter is designed to be a cheap as possible in the name of robust portable computing, the goal of the 10 proper is to be more a jack of all trades. Like all the current crop of Atom netbooks though, the lack of a decent GPU is an annoyance and, in this case, the HDMI port brings that annoyance into somewhat sharper relief.

The NC10 is also the better performer, as well as offering that staggering seven-hour battery life. The only real advantage held by the Mini 10 is its configurability - for instance, you can choose from six different lid colours (Cherry Red inexplicably costs an additional $81) or opt for decals ($145) - but the NC10 is better in all the ways that matter. It's possible Dell will come up with a world-beating netbook, but this isn't it.

So far, Dell's netbooks have been hit and miss. We liked the cute Inspiron Mini 9, but were less enamoured with the under-powered Inspiron Mini 12, so we were keen to see how the Inspiron Mini 10 shapes up. We like the Dell Inspiron Mini 10's high-resolution screen and love its HDMI port. The annoying trackpad and awkwardly designed battery pack are big letdowns, however. Dell still has some way to go before it produces a really stunning netbook.

Dell's latest addition to its Mini range of netbooks is the Mini 10, a 10.1-inch screen unit that naturally sits in between the original Mini 9 and the larger Mini 12. Although the Mini 10 is an improvement on the Mini 9 and, for that matter, the Mini 12, Dell is still playing catch-up with the major players in this market, and it's hard to recommend this machine when you compare it with the other 10-inch netbooks available such as Samsung's NC10 and N110 and Asus's 1000HE.

It took Dell a little while to get on the mini-notebook bandwagon last year, but when it did with the 9in Inspiron Mini 9, we were impressed with the results. Now there’s an updated version in the form of the 10in Mini 10. With poor battery life and unimpressive performance the Dell Mini 10 does its job perfectly well but at the asking price is less than impressive. Although it’s nicely expandable, the basic Mini 10 is expensive for what it contains and the battery life is unimpressive.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is marketed primarily as a secondary laptop for people who would like to take their light to moderate workloads to places where a full-sized laptop might not dare to go, and this is indeed who it will work best for. It’s ultraportable and inexpensive with performance levels that are impressive by netbook standards (and even fairly impressive by regular standards), so people who use it for its intended purpose will find that it fulfills their needs and even goes beyond them. I wish the memory were upgradeable, and issues with the heat and trackpad can be minor annoyances, but, even though I’m still a Mac guy, I have found the Inspiron Mini to be an excellent tool for productivity.

A great screen, but better options exist at this price. While the excellent keyboard and screen of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 provide strong selling points, the limited mobility and poor components restrict usability. Battery life was the damper on an otherwise very well turned out netbook. In size, style, general performance and ergonomics, this Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a must-see for any shortlist. Note, though, that the PC World model tested does not feature Bluetooth nor the hybrid USB/eSATA port that are standard for Dell-sold units. If you need a slightly faster 1.6GHz model and either of these features, look to Dell direct, with a £50 price premium

The Inspiron Mini 10 is pretty much a mixed bag, and although it shows promise and offers a few nice features and design concepts, it has a few serious shortcomings as well. For some reason Dell chose to launch it with a 3-cell battery, which doesn't provide you with a lot of juice. Most vendors are slowly phasing out 3-cell units in favor of 6-cell or 4-cell batteries, even on entry level SKUs. Of course, you can get a 6-cell power pack for the Mini 10, but you're basically paying for something you are supposed to get straight out of the box, and that's something no consumer enjoys. It's biggest downside is the $399 price tag. In case you want a 6-cell battery and a Z530, it will cost you $100 extra. Fortunately, Dell has announced a stripped down Mini 10v SKU for $299, and that sounds like a pretty good deal.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a fantastic package. The keyboard helps to make it one of the most comfortable and practical netbooks available and, unlike rival products from HP, it doesn't cost the earth. Overall, the excellent usability on offer and the impressive machine makes this an appealing choice.

Unfortunately, the Mini 10 cements Dell's current position as an also-ran in the netbook stakes. Its battery life is disappointing, and, although it's well-specified, it suffers in comparison to the Samsung NC10, which is just as portable, and has a better keyboard and mouse as well. It's also the better performer, as well as offering that staggering seven hour battery life. The price difference can be discounted - lose the Mini 10's coloured lid and you instantly chop £20 off the price - but the NC10 is better in all the ways that matter. It's possible that Dell will come up with a world-beating netbook yet, but this isn't it.

The Inspiron Mini 10 puts Dell into the 10-inch netbook race, but other netbooks provide better bang for your buck. While its compact form, nearly full-size keyboard, and glossy screen all create a nice-looking package, its finicky touchpad holds it back. Plus, at $449, the Mini 10 is the same price as the Samsung NC10, which is bulkier but offers a longer-lasting six-cell battery (and more than 6 hours of runtime). And the Mini 10 is $50 more expensive than the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE, whose six-cell battery lasts more than 7 hours on a charge. Once Dell begins to offer the Mini 10 with a six-cell battery, built-in mobile broadband, integrated GPS, and TV tuner capability, it will become more compelling.

Dell, the name that brought us some serious quality products over the years sent us a netbook from their Inpsiron Mini series. It’s small, it’s cute, and it's Atom-based. At a price of Rs. 19,000, it's quite reasonable, and it performs like any other netbook on the current market. But the touch pad has serious issues. The screen and build of externals is very good. Battery life is really good. All in all this one is a definite 4 on 5.

If you can handle the odd touchpad, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v is a solid 10 inch netbook with good build quality, a decent keyboard, and above average battery life. But the touchpad may be a dealbreaker for some people. If you generally plug in a mouse, or don’t have a problem with the Inspiron Mini 10v touchpad’s integrated mouse buttons, then don’t sweat it. Of the several netbooks I’ve owned, I am most satisfied with the Dell Mini 10v. Perhaps the only thing missing on this netbook that I’d like to have is Bluetooth, but at $211 the lack of Bluetooth wasn’t enough to prevent me from purchasing. Unlike the others that found their way to eBay, I’m certain that the 10v will have a long life in my household for years to come. I don’t rescind my previous argument that the MacBook Pro is all I need. Netbooks are still underpowered, largely overpriced, and quickly obsolete, but who wouldn’t grab one of these for $211?

Dell's Mini 10v is their low cost version of their Mini 10 netbook and in many ways is a better choice. Little is sacrificed in terms of performance or design. Sure, it may have less hard drive space and switch up a few components, but it is still the same look just with a plastic exterior and fewer high end options. The biggest problem is the very small battery that will provide a very limited running time, but for $299 it does offer a fair amount.

The "v" in the Dell Mini 10v's name is seemingly there to indicate value for thrifty Netbook shoppers. The system is in many ways hard to distinguish from its more expensive cousin and is one of the better under-$299 Netbook packages we've seen. Dell may not be as aggressive as netbook-obsessed companies like Asus and HP, but it does have several of them under its belt. Though the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and the Mini 12 are slowly being phased out, that still leaves Dell's 10-inch netbook—of which there are two versions: The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (review coming shortly) can be configured with bells and whistles such as an "HD" screen resolution, a TV tuner, and mobile broadband. The Dell Mini 10v is one of the most affordable netbooks money can buy, and 8 hours of battery life isn't too shabby either.

The Mini 10v takes the netbook back to its Small, Cheap Computer ideal and the end product is difficult to seriously criticise - the rather dowdy styling, silly SD card slot design and crippled out-of-the-box Linux OS notwithstanding. Of course, the first is a matter of personal taste while the last can be fixed by a quick Ubuntu upgrade so that only really leaves the rather dozy SD card slot and that's really not a reason to not buy one.

Although they can’t match the performance of larger and more expensive laptops, netbook computers are perfect for those who want a truly portable computer for relatively simple tasks such as web browsing, email and word processing. The Dell Mini 1012 netbook feels sturdy, which suggests it will be able to take a knock or two without much damage being caused. A good-quality netbook but it doesn’t bring anything new to the table

With the extreme thin-and-light Adamo XPS laptop, Dell made its mark as a design innovator. Now, the company continues to push the envelope with this next generation of the Dell Mini 10 (officially called the Inspiron Mini 10 1012), with simple tweaks that give the attractive Mini 10 family an unexpected makeover. This sturdy netbook delivers excellent battery life, not to mention color options and one of the best keyboards we've seen.

Dell's Mini 1012 is essentially a laptop that is stuck in design and features from over a year ago. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't priced near $400 which is well above many similarly equipped netbooks. It does have a few improvements such as Windows 7 Home Premium and an HDMI port but it just doesn't make up for the various shortcomings.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (1012) netbook sells for a price of Rs. 17,900 on Dell's website. We think it's an attractive price to pay for a stylish, good-looking 10-inch netbook with standard performance, very good keyboard and excellent battery life. The netbook's online data backup service is an added bonus. Between the Acer Aspire One 532h and the Dell Inspiron Mini 10, we wholeheartedly recommend the Inspiron Mini 10 for its better looks, design, and battery life. You should consider the Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 for its slightly better keyboard and useful bundled proprietary software, but it doesn't match up to the Dell Inspiron Mini 10's battery life and great price. Overall, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook is the best 10-inch netbook to buy right now.

Dell has expanded its Inspiron Mini range of netbooks with a re-invention of the Mini 10, also known as the 1012. The Dell Mini 1012 has some well-implemented features that make it stand out above the sea of competing netbooks. We like the great display, big keyboard and fantastic build quality. It's a little on the pricey side, but if you're in the market for a good quality netbook, the 1012 is unlikely to disappoint.

The price of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 starts from Rs. 15,900 (delivery charges extra) on the Dell India website. This comes with 1GB RAM and 160GB hard drive with XP pre-installed. The pricing is pretty fair. The high-end version, with a higher-resolution (HD) display, 2GB RAM, 320GB hard disk and Windows 7 Home Basic also carries a value for money tag of Rs. 20,000.

At a price of Rs. 16,800 this model has some very clear advantages besides a nice low price point; as can be seen from the results. It's got nice battery life, considering it's a 3 cell model. It lasted more than 3 and half hours in our Battery Eater Pro Classic test, and for normal usage we got about 5 hours 20 minutes. The Graphics are better with the 3150. We could watch upto 720p video quite easily, with very little issues of stutter and frame coughing.

After retiring the 9-inch and 12-inch Inspiron Mini netbooks, Dell concentrated on building the best possible 10-inch netbook. The Inspiron Mini 10s (HD) ($425 direct) is one of many Mini 10 configurations that can be customized with different colors, a host of features, and processor options (These models are also known as the Mini 1012). The Dell Mini 10s (HD) piles on features better than any other netbook at this price, but a poor navigating experience and second-tier battery life hold it back from stardom.

This retail store configuration of Dell's popular Inspiron Mini 10 looks identical to the two direct-from-Dell models we've reviewed recently, but you'll have to do some careful sleuthing to figure out which model and price is right for you. This retail version of Dell's Mini 10 Netbook, called the iM1012-687OBK, has a great battery, but chances are it's sitting on a shelf right next to a less expensive Netbook with a bigger hard drive.

Dell makes basic mainstream laptops about as well as anyone in the industry, and the company's line of Mini-branded Netbooks--a moniker also used by HP and others--is a typically workman-like example of the genre. This retail version of Dell's Inspiron Mini 10, called the iM1012-1091OBK, is the first WiMax Netbook we've seen; however, that feature may not be of much use to you, depending on where you live.

Economico ma affidabile. L'Inspiron Mini 1018 è il nuovo "budget netbook" da 10-pollici della Dell. L'hardware è in linea con gli standards attuali, ma dovrete fare a meno di features addizionali con un prezzo base di 279 Euro.

Also, the inclusion of Microsoft Office Starter 2010 software is a real bonus at this price and is a rarity in the netbook market. Providing stripped-down versions of Microsoft's word processing and spreadsheet tools, it provides a great way to get to work straight from the box. On its own, the Inspiron Mini 1018 is a great netbook, and ideal for first-time buyers. It's beaten slightly by the improved battery life and usability of the Acer and Packard Bell, but its rock-solid build quality makes it a superb choice for kids to use.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500:
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Scheda grafica integrata (memoria condivisa) nell'Intel Atom N4xx CPUs.
