Tralasciato questo fattore, l'esperienza d'uso di una macchina del genere è ottima. Si strizza senza dubbio l'occhio ai creatori di contenuti, visto il display incredibile, lo slot per le microSD e il form factor compatto e non troppo pesante. Forse insomma non è un portatile per "comuni mortali", ma chiunque non abbia problemi di budget dovrebbe prenderlo seriamente in considerazione, specialmente se non si vedono di buon occhio i prodotti Apple.

If you’re someone who is always on the go, or you don’t have space in your room for a tower case, then you can’t go wrong with the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16. It’s one of the most powerful laptops you can get out of the box today, and it can run most games at the highest settings. At the same time, video editors, graphic designers, and even those in 3D rendering can maximize this laptop to its full extent. It also comes with 2TB of storage already, but if you need more, you can always buy an external SSD. There is one thing you have to consider though – the price. This particular model GU604VY-NM042WS retails for PHP 339,995, and also includes an ROG backpack, ROG Fusion II 300 Headset, ROG Gladius 3, Type-C PD Adapter, and is pre-installed with Office Home & Student 2021. Yes, it’s a lot of money, but you are getting one fitted with the latest hardware available. That said, if you don’t need the NVIDIA RTX 4090, there are other variants available with only 32GB DDR5 RAM and paired with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 or 4080 for under PHP 250,000. But if you do have the space for a PC rig, and don’t need to game wherever you go, I would still recommend building a PC instead. At least that way, you have more flexibility in what parts to use and how to budget your rig.

When all is said and done, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2023 is a laptop that has me standing on the fence. On one side, it is one of the most powerful Intel-based laptops ASUS has to offer, as well as being one of a handful of models that has the privilege of being able to house NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 discrete GPU. I would even go so far as to label it a 16-inch desktop replacement, crammed inside a 15-inch chassis. On the other side of the fence, the 13th Gen Intel CPU shows clear signs that the chipmaker has yet to solve its thermal throttling issues, and in addition to that, it still isn’t as energy efficient as the chipmaker had promised, which leaves the M16 2023 looking less of an alternative for the person that prioritises longevity, even for the casual gamer. For that matter, it’s also not cheap: the model I have in my hands retails for RM17999, while the base model of this laptop goes for RM10999. On another note, it’s not light either, weighing in at 2.3kg. To condense this story into a couple of sentences – Would I recommend that you purchase the M16 2023 to someone looking for a portable powerhouse machine? Yes, I would. Would I recommend it as a machine that balances power and longevity? Not quite and I’d recommend you look elsewhere.

Driven by the huge performance gains from Intel and NVIDIA, the ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023) presents a big leap forward from its predecessor. It crushes through every game there is in 1080p, and in its native 1600p resolution. One of the big things that help it achieve this is the MUX switch. This lets the NVIDIA GPU (in this case the RTX 4090) communicate directly with the fantastic display. Speaking of which, ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023)’s 16:10 screen has a mini LED backlight, WQXGA resolution, and high maximum brightness. It has wide viewing angles, a good contrast ratio, and super fast pixel response time. This bodes really well with the 240Hz refresh rate and the G-Sync support, resulting in a super smooth image. Furthermore, it covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers good color accuracy on top of that. Unfortunately, stuff is a bit weird with PWM. If you are in for the future, you will be happy to hear that the laptop has two SODIMM slots that fit DDR5 memory, working at 4800MHz. Storage-wise, you get two M.2 PCIe x4 slots.

Driven by the huge performance gains from Intel and NVIDIA, the ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023) presents a big leap forward from its predecessor. It crushes through every game there is in 1080p, and in its native 1600p resolution. One of the big things that help it achieve this is the MUX switch. This lets the NVIDIA GPU (in this case the RTX 4090) communicate directly with the fantastic display. Speaking of which, ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604, 2023)’s 16:10 screen has a mini LED backlight, WQXGA resolution, and high maximum brightness. It has wide viewing angles, a good contrast ratio, and super fast pixel response time. This bodes really well with the 240Hz refresh rate and the G-Sync support, resulting in a super smooth image. Furthermore, it covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers good color accuracy on top of that. Unfortunately, stuff is a bit weird with PWM. If you are in for the future, you will be happy to hear that the laptop has two SODIMM slots that fit DDR5 memory, working at 4800MHz. Storage-wise, you get two M.2 PCIe x4 slots.

That said, for my money, I'd rather go with one of the M16's more affordable configs, which starts at $1,950 for an i9 chip and an RTX 4070 card. You still get that brilliant Mini LED screen and AniMe Matrix lid along with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. This way you'll have a system that won't bust your budget or make your back sore if you decide to carry it around, without putting a damper on your ability to game in style either.

It also maintains great build quality despite its size. And assuming the price remains in the $3,499 range it'll probably arrive as one of the most affordable RTX 4090 notebooks.You'll certainly get better performance from the RTX 4090 in pricier, larger laptops, but those are probably targeting a different type of gamer's needs anyway. The AniMe Matrix lid is a cool gimmick that adds weight and little else, and the keyboard is good – but lots of other notebooks are much better. The battery doesn't last very long and it's unnecessarily hard to get inside the M16. As new gaming laptops launch for 2023, the Zephyrus M16 will almost certainly retain its crown as the slimmest, lightest RTX 4090 machine, and that Mini LED display will undoubtedly remain one of the best laptop displays around. While the 2023 Zephyrus M16 does a novel thing with the Zephyrus brand, focusing more on decadent power upgrades than continuing the trend towards a lighter and thinner chassis – this change nevertheless actually makes it one of the best 16-inch options in 2023. For gamers looking for a reasonably light and portable laptop that’ll produce quick frame rates at 2560×1600, it’s very hard to look beyond the M16. What’s more, you can expect to pay a little less than some competitors for the privilege. While a mushy keyboard and more modest styling may be irksome for some gamers, this laptop gets everything mostly right, which is no small feat.

80% ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2023 review: power-packed performance that comes at a price

Compared to last year’s Zephyrus M16, there are some important updates that make the 2023 version a highly recommended gaming laptop. I honestly didn’t have any major complaints with the laptop in terms of user experience and performance. Apart from the new Intel and Nvidia chips, the display is definitely the highlight of this machine. I actually appreciate how ASUS is pushing itself to bring better features for its consumers. Other new features include the addition of the AniMe Matrix LEDs on the lid, which is purely an aesthetic choice and probably a gimmick for certain users. I do like it though as it is a really cool conversation starter. The addition of a third cooling fan is great and necessary to tame the new power-hungry chips, the memory configuration has been updated to both RAM modules accessible to the user, and other smaller changes make for an overall satisfying experience.

Asus made significant improvements in the 2023 ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU604) thin and light gaming premium laptop. The metal clad laptop is less of a fingerprint magnet, it has improve cooling and is quieter. It has an Intel Core i9-13900H CPU and your choice of an NVIDIA RTX 4070, 4080 (our unit) or 4090 GPU. In the US, all but the base model have a striking QHD+ mini LED display with 1,000 local dimming zones and an HDR 1000 rating. The design is low key with little bling, there’s a single zone RGB keyboard, windows Hello 1080p IR camera, and Thunderbolt 4. It competes with (but is considerably less expensive than) the Razer Blade 16. It also competes with the Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 and is a roomier and higher watt alternative to the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14.

i9-13900H: CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 6 core ad alte prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 20 thread che possono essere elaborati. La CPU ha un clock fino a 5,4 GHz. Rispetto all'i9-13900HK, non è supportato l'overclocking facile, ma è invece supportato il set completo di funzioni di gestione vPro.
