Sono tanti soldi, ma non una follia, se si guardano configurazioni analoghe di altri produttori. L’ASUS che abbiamo recensito qualche settimana fa, praticamente con la stessa configurazione, costa 800€ in più, e se è vero che riesce a spingersi un pochino più in alto dal punto di vista di clock e temperature il “rapporto prezzo/FPS” è a favore dell’unità di Acer, peraltro con un display assolutamente paragonabile (sospettiamo addirittura che si tratti dello stesso esatto pannello). In ultimo, questo è un laptop molto settoriale e specifico: lo si compra perché si sa esattamente cosa si vuole. E non si rimarrà delusi.

These days, huge gaming laptops can be surprisingly thin and light, yet still offer high-end performance. The 18-inch Acer Predator Helios 18 is no exception, and pushes the limits of how much high-performance hardware it can fit inside. As it suggests in the name, the Helios 18 has a huge 18-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600) mini-LED panel with a fast 250Hz refresh rate, an excellent 3ms GTG refresh rate, but also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut for vibrant, accurate colors. While the Helios 18 does have more affordable variants with lower-performance parts, I got hands on with one of the highest-end models. Key is the mighty Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, plus the equally high-end Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU and up to 64GB of RAM.

You might be disappointed by its battery life and lackluster audio, but if you use it as a stationery machine and invest in a pair of headphones, that shouldn’t be a problem. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop:
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. i9-14900HX: Processore ibrido mobile di fascia alta basato sull'architettura Raptor Lake con 24 core e 32 thread. Il clock è di un massimo di 5,8 GHz (core P).
i9-13900HX: CPU mobile basata sulla serie Raptor Lake che offre 24 core (8 core per le prestazioni, 16 core per l'efficienza) con un core Boost fino a 5,8 GHz per i core P. Simile al Desktop i9-13900K, ma con velocità di clock e TDP ridotti.
Intel Arrow Lake:
Ultra 9 275HX: CPU mobile di fascia alta per notebook da gioco basata sull'architettura Arrow Lake. Offre 24 core composti da 8 core ad alte prestazioni con velocità di clock fino a 5,4 GHz e 16 core di efficienza minore con velocità di clock fino a 4,6 GHz.
