Redmi Note 14 Pro+ ha caratteristiche interessanti, insieme ad alcune criticità che ne limitano l'appeal complessivo. Il design curato e la costruzione robusta, con certificazione IP68 e protezione Gorilla Glass Victus 2, sono sicuramente punti a favore che donano al telefono un aspetto premium considerando il suo prezzo di listino. Ottimo lo schermo AMOLED da 6,67 pollici, che si conferma come uno dei punti di forza del dispositivo. Tuttavia, le prestazioni generali non riescono a distinguersi nettamente dalla concorrenza nella stessa fascia di prezzo: la piattaforma Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, pur offrendo una buona stabilità termica, non porta un significativo salto prestazionale rispetto al predecessore.

Redmi Note 14 Pro+ sarà disponibile, come anticipato, in due varianti: la versione 8+256GB costerà 499,90 €, mentre servono 50 € in più per la versione 12+512GB, che quindi costerà 549,90 €, salvo promo dell’ultima ora. No, non ci siamo. Non tanto per il prezzo cinese, sappiamo bene che tra tasse e maggiori costi del post vendita è impossibile avvicinarsi a quelle cifre, quanto per i “tagli” che sono stati fatti rispetto al progetto originario. Una batteria nettamente più piccola, un comparto fotografico inferiore, memorie lente, il tutto ad un prezzo molto alto. Xiaomi ci ha sempre abituati bene, con tutti e tre i brand, offrendo una scheda tecnica importante a prezzi bilanciati, nonostante i tanti aumenti. Redmi Note 14 Pro+ è un prodotto diverso da quello che ci aspettavamo, sicuramente non migliore, ed i 500 euro di listino richiesti sembrano una follia. Urge un ritocco del prezzo ed offerte succose per riconquistare la fiducia degli utenti.

Siamo alle battute finali della recensione di Redmi Note 14 Pro+, proposto a partire da 499 Euro per il taglio di memoria 8/256 GB, si sale a 549 Euro per la variante 12/512 GB. Complessivamente il giudizio è sufficiente, lo smartphone non ha grossi problemi e garantisce un’esperienza di utilizzo di buon livello. Non possiamo però ritenerci veramente soddisfatti: le imperfezioni sono diverse, ma soprattutto sono le stesse già rilevate lo scorso anno, denotando poca cura nella progettazione del telefono. A questo si aggiunge il rammarico per non vedere, nella versione global, le novità di peso introdotte con la variante cinese, tra cui un comparto fotografico finalmente rinnovato e la batteria con anodo al silicio carbonio. Le alternative sono molte, anche in casa Xiaomi con i nuovi Poco X7 e X7 Pro, sicuramente da valutare anche gli altri elementi della famiglia Redmi Note 14, in particolare il 14 Pro, che a 399 Euro impone pochissime rinunce rispetto al modello “plus”.

You do get some AI features, but I doubt they make much of a difference to most users. It’s more powerful than ever, charges rapidly, and one of its three cameras takes a decent enough picture for the price – so why haven’t I rated the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ any higher? Unfortunately the formula just hasn’t evolved enough from the previous generation – which itself wasn’t much of an upgrade over the model before it. We’re really past the point where 8MP ultrawides and 2MP macro cameras deserve a place on mid-range phones (if they ever really did) and the curved-edge glass feels a bit out of step with the rest of the phone world. An outdated version of Android and refusal to cut down on the bloatware just doesn’t cut it in 2025. The brighter shining OLED screen is welcome, but you don’t have to look too far for more a well-rounded alternative: the OnePlus Nord 4 and Nothing Phone 2a Plus can be had for the same money, while a Google Pixel 8a isn’t that much more.
