So, yes—this is pretty high-tech stuff for a midrange phone, which brings me to the end of my review of the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge. Should you buy this phone? Sadly, the answer for me is a no and I have some valid arguments to back it up. While I do appreciate Xiaomi bringing such an amazing charging technology to the masses, in doing so, the price of the product has gone too high. If it had a 67W or even a 33W charger, the overall experience would have remained the same. Exactly what the regular Xiaomi 11i delivers for INR 2,000 less. But, that’s not only the reason why I wouldn’t recommend this phone. What other companies are offering at a similar price range is equally important. You can get the Galaxy A52s instead that offers a better display and cameras—alongside a very similar performance. On the other hand, you can also pick the good old iQOO 7 for INR 29,999 from Amazon India, which comes with a more capable Snapdragon 870 chipset on top of a good display and camera setup.

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge smartphone design is excellent, the matte glass back certainly makes it even more premium. You also get a chipset that will perform close to the flagship phone, 5G support, AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, and plus 120W HyperCharger. If all of these features are something you want in your smartphone, you will love this phone. The camera is not bad at all, but there is a better option at this price range are available in the market. The missing Android 12 OS also disappoints some users. In case you are looking for an alternative option with better camera performance, the Oppo Reno 7 smartphone is a great deal with a top-notch camera.

Xiaomi, India’s largest smartphone brand, kicked off 2022 with the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, a midrange smartphone featuring industry-first 120W fast-charging technology. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is the Mi 10i‘s successor, and it reflects that very well. Aside from the amazing fast-charging technology, the smartphone has a number of other improvements in terms of design, display, performance, and camera department. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge appears to be an all-rounder in the midrange market on paper. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge does not have the most premium feel in this price range. The performance is a little disappointing considering its competition. The gaming experience is somewhat limited by the MediaTek Dimensity processor used here. I’m not sure how many people would buy a phone based on its charging speed, however for those who do, I’ve reviewed the smartphone in detail.

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G has made headlines for its super-fast charging capability, and this is the biggest selling point of this smartphone. It seems unreal that a smartphone's battery, that too one of a relatively high capacity, can be filled completely in just 20 minutes. I reckon this will be extremely handy for people who travel often. The only catch here is that you will need to carry the big 120W charger with you at all times. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G commands a premium for its 120W fast charging technology. It does not have any direct competition yet, so if you are willing to spend some money, go for it. If this one feature doesn't really matter for your usage, you could instead take a look at the regular Xiaomi 11i 5G which costs a fair bit less. It's nearly identical to the HyperCharge model, but supports 67W fast charging instead (which is still quite quick). The OnePlus Nord 2 (Review) and the Poco F3 GT (Review) are worth considering if you want more performance for the price.

What, however, makes the 11i HyperCharge special is its charging speed, and there ironically its biggest headache is its own suffix-less sibling, the Xiaomi 11i, which comes with exactly the same specs as the 11i HyperCharge except for a slightly larger 5160 mAh battery and a ‘slower’ 67W charger. That said, it still gets charged in about half an hour, which makes it a great option for anyone wanting a super-fast charging device with a slightly bigger battery at a lower price – the Xiaomi 11i starts at Rs 24,999. But if you want the fastest charging phone in the market, and one which does everything else pretty well too at mid-segment performance levels, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a no-brainer. This one is for those with a need for speed. Charging speed, that is.

Priced at Rs 28,999 (review unit: 8GB +128GB), the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a solid midrange smartphone; albeit, with a rather dull design and unwieldy ergonomics. If the phone’s design and build is something you can compromise on, this is the phone to consider because there is no other parameter where the phone does not impress.

The Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge sets a new benchmark with its 120W fast charging solution which is capable of topping up the phone’s battery in no time. While Xiaomi claims that it takes 15 minutes to charge the phone fully, in reality, it isn’t a consistent speed and more often than not, it will take more than 15 minutes to fully charge. Having said that, it is still the fastest charging phone you can get your hands on in India at the moment which makes it a great buy for people who demand better battery life and faster-charging speeds.

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is the upgraded version of the Xiaomi 11i that brings astounding features. Besides this, the phone was released in January 2022 in India, while the rough price is around $400 (Rs 29,499 in India) approx. Apart from the 120W fast charging support that fuels a 4500 mAh battery. Following this, you will also receive a 6.67-inches AMOLED panel that renders a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR 10. Besides this, you will also attain a 1200 nits brightness screen with a 32MP selfie camera setup. As for the back panel, you can purchase the phone in Camo Green, Stealth Black, Purple Mist, and Pacific Pearl. Moreover, the phone offers a triple camera setup that includes a 108MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro with 4K video recording. The overall photography is great. As for the performance aspect, MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset grants ample processing and 5G connectivity. On the other hand, the Android 11 OS is based on the MIUI 12.5 E software layering. Apart from this, you wil also attain ample storage and RAM options.

The Mi 11i HyperCharge scores high on some aspects, but not so much in others. Yes, the display is gorgeous but the same can be said about the OnePlus Nord 2 (review) as well. Cameras? Again the Nord 2 seems to be a better contender although the Realme X7 Pro (review) is not too far behind. A great software experience is in the offing by the Moto Edge 20 Fusion (review) with its clean stock Android interface. The performance of the Mi 11i HyperCharge is overrun by the likes of the Nord 2, Realme X7 Max and Mi 11X all of which are priced similarly. When it comes to the battery charging speeds though, the Mi 11i HyperCharge is unbeatable. If the camera performance can be improved by way of software updates, the Mi 11i HyperCharge could across as a better all-rounder. As things stand currently though, if you are someone who is always on the go and is lured by the blistering fast charging on the device, the Mi 11i HyperCharge could be the one for you.

The main reason for most of you to buy the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge would be its 120W fast charging. If that’s what you mainly seek, you aren’t going to be disappointed. As of now, this is the fastest charging phone under Rs. 30,000. A full charge in around 20 minutes is the kind of pampering strong enough to stop considering slower charging solutions. We will see how soon Realme and Oppo bring their 120W charging to this space, and how fast their systems will be. But for now, nothing beats the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, as far as charging speeds are concerned. Look beyond the 120W charging and there lies a very pleasant Android mid range phone that does everything you can ask. It has got a nice display, great performance to offer, a superb Android experience courtesy of MIUI 12.5, a decent battery life, and a fancy design. That said, the phone’s Redmi DNA is visible and someone coming from a Redmi Note 10 Pro/Max could struggle to find the upgrade in the overall experience.

For bragging rights, yes! Otherwise? Still yes if you want a big phone with a nice display, solid performance, good media consumption experience, and reliable battery life. Of course, the 120W charging is an added bonus then. The standard Xiaomi 11i is ₹2,000 cheaper and comes with a larger 5,160mAh battery but “slower” 67W charging. If you don’t mind charging your phone for an extra 10-15 minutes, that phone makes more sense since I would pick a larger battery over faster charging any day. That’s subjective though, so if you want the fastest charging phone in India right now and don’t mind compromising a little in the camera department, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is the phone to go for. If you’re looking for a more well-rounded phone, I would say the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is arguably a better pick for a similar price. It’s got a beautiful design, better cameras, a similar display, and solid performance. Yes, you lose out on the ultra-fast 120W charging but that’s the trade-off you’re making for better cameras and usability.

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a classic example of Xiaomi pushing the gauntlet with one feature to create a splash while the rest of the package shows restraint. That said, while the phone might be focused on lightning-fast charging, there’s more to like here. The design is modern and premium, and the performance is satisfactory. While the cameras might not live up to alternatives like the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G (Rs. 35,990/~$483), the primary sensor still manages moments of brilliance and is a marked step above the middling cameras on the OnePlus Nord 2 (Rs. 24,999/~$335). Priced starting at Rs. 26,999, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a safe bet if you want a new mid-range smartphone with all the essential bells and whistles. However, for value-conscious buyers, the surprise winner here might be the standard Xiaomi 11i (Rs. 24,999/~$335) that delivers much of the same experience, longer battery life on paper, and still fast 66W charging, while saving you a pretty penny.

Starting at Rs 22,999, the Xiaomi 11i is quite a dependable smartphone. It’s not a perfect smartphone, but it’s a well-balanced package. With Xiaomi 11i, you get a beautiful display, a reliable processor and great battery life. However, it lags behind the competition and other Xiaomi’s smartphones in the camera department. So, if you are out there in the market looking for a new smartphone, then Xiaomi 11i can be your companion. You can also go with the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge if you really dig in that 120W charger. But if we were, to be honest, then the Xiaomi 11i seems like a much better package compared to the HyperCharge. The 67W isn’t even that slow, and you can find something to do in that extra 15 minutes, and you’d be saving some money as well.

Xiaomi’s ‘i’ series has always tried to offer new technology at a slightly more affordable price. For instance, last year’s Mi 10i had a 108MP camera and started at Rs 20,999. With the Xiaomi 11i, the prices have definitely gone up, as it now starts at Rs 24,999 for the non-Hypercharge version. That one has 67W fast charging. The Hypercharge variant starts at Rs 26,999 for 6GB RAM, while the 8GB RAM option costs Rs 28,999. The Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge has good performance, excellent battery life and of course, that extra fast charging. But the camera felt like a letdown overall. I had higher expectations here. If you are considering this series, the Xiaomi 11i will be good enough for most users. Both phones have similar specifications. Not everybody really needs 120W fast charging. But for those who want to boast that their phone charges in just 15 minutes, this is your main pick right now.

Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge could have easily been the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ in the Indian market as well if not for its price. It’s clear that Xiaomi doesn’t want to launch anything under the Redmi sub-brand at this price. Brand strategy aside, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a capable smartphone at this price. There is a high refresh rate AMOLED panel, camera performance is solid, and the phone should particularly excite those who are always anxious about their phone’s battery level.

At the front, the large 6.67-inch AMOLED display has a small hole-punch cutout and thin bezels on the sides. It has a full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The highlight of the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G is the 120W fast charging support. Xiaomi bundles a 120W charger in the box, and it is one of the biggest ones I've seen bundled with a smartphone. It has a full-sized USB Type-A port, and you also get a Type-A to Type-C cable with this phone. The Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge 5G packs in a 4,500mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can be filled fully in just 15 minutes. I'm looking forward to testing these charging claims in the full review. With prices starting at Rs. 26,999 for the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge 5G, Xiaomi is trying to cash in on the phone's hyper-charging ability to set it apart in a crowded segment.
