It’s neither a true mid-range, nor a true flagship, and that’s because it doesn’t need to be either. If you want a premium midrange phone, the X50 Pro is a nice half-step upgrade without going too deeply into the territory of flagship prices. If you’re looking at it as a budget flagship option, it’s not too far away from flagship-tier benchmarks, making it an easy half-step down from increasingly expensive higher-end mobiles. Combine that with its 5G readiness, the Vivo X50 Pro is a viable option for both mid-range and flagship users who want a phone that can last long enough to see and try 5G, without having to spend too much money, or having to compromise excessively on photography and phone performance.

The Vivo X50 Pro is a bang for a buck. From a stunning display to the best camera this device has everything you want. It could have been better if it had the Snapdragon 865 processor however the 765G does the job well too. If you are someone who is mainly looking for a smartphone with an amazing camera and a stunning display for watching videos and more then the Vivo X50 Pro is the perfect choice for you.

The Vivo X50 Pro will live and die by its camera. Elsewhere, this is a decent upper-mid-range phone with solid specs, slick design, and so-so software. But if you want in-camera gimbal stabilisation for videos or low light photography, this is the only game in town. Throw in the 5x optical zoom periscope, the portrait lens, and wide-angle and it’s easy to see the appeal. Still, for many this camera oomph will be overkill, so decide carefully. If you’re unlikely to make the most of it then there are plenty of other Snapdragon 765G phones that offer similar specs for less outside of photography.

Yes, we get it! Vivo X50 Pro is the first device to feature a gimbal and most of the costs are invested here. Opting Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform could have added extra punch to the device at this price point since there are not many options available in this segment. However, at a flagship price, this device offers a mid-range device performance.

The Vivo X50 Pro is one of the surprise packages of the year, providing cutting edge camera technology and a highly desirable design for a mid-market price. Clunky software and availability quirks keep it from being an outright elite contender, but anyone looking for a stylish and great-value all-rounder with a distinctive flavour should add it to their shortlist.

This is a question that I think I have to rephrase and ask you again from a different perspective. Do you take a lot of videos using your phone? Do you actually want to take some smooth, epic B-rolls using your phone? Then buy the Vivo X50 Pro.

The Vivo X50 Pro is a midrange phone on the higher end of that spectrum and has many of the trappings of an enticing flagship. Starting at approximately $670, you get a crystalline screen, 5G, a powerful battery, a speedy display and fast charging. But the phone also has a camera feature that undeniably distinguishes it from its rivals. The X50 Pro is the world's first mass-produced phone with a built-in gimbal camera system that allows you to capture smooth, fast-action video with the click of a button. Out of Vivo's trio of X50 handsets -- which the Chinese phone-maker is marketing as a professional photography flagship -- the X50 Pro is the only one to boast this futuristic feature. But Vivo did make a few compromises. For instance, it lacks stereo speakers (a big drawback for music lovers like myself) and it isn't water resistant, which many phones of this class are. It also has a midrange processor (Snapdragon 765G) instead of the most advanced chipset available.

vivo’s done a great job with their X50 Pro, and is easily one of the best flagships I’ve tested so far this year. The phone’s exterior is incredibly well built and certainly contains flagship pedigree. The gimbals on the main camera might be gimmicky at first glance, but it certainly delivers the goods.

vivo is offering pre-order freebies for the devices. The X50 comes with a powerbank and 6 months extended warranty. The X50 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a JBL Go 2 speaker and 6 months extended warranty as well.

It is refreshing to see Vivo make a serious attempt to break away from gimmicks and offer real value to the smartphone users. The Vivo X50 Pro’s Gimbal Camera System works for us and to be very honest, we neither recommend nor diss it. Available for INR 49,990 in India or $660, which slightly high-end for the region. Global pricing and availability are awaited.

The Vivo X50 Pro makes a very interesting proposition. It is overall a pretty good phone, with its specs and performance to match. It’s also 5G ready, so there’s some future-proofing going on, if you intend to keep it for a very long time.

The Vivo X50 Pro is the first smartphone to feature built-in gimbal stabilisation. While this is a first-gen product, it does the job quite well. Video stabilisation was quite good and the gimbal system does make it super easy to take shots with Night mode. Hopefully, this feature will become more common in the future.

Priced at Rs 49,000, the Vivo X50 Pro is a premium smartphone with great cameras, dazzling display, decent performance and good on-battery time. It is a complete package, if you can live with its underwhelming user interface which is the only thing that let down this otherwise impressive smartphone. Moreover, it has 5G network support, so you are covered for future, too.

Chinese phone-maker Vivo recently unveiled its X50 series, marking the launch of its first global flagship this year. Vivo, which is one of the top 10 phone manufacturers by market share despite being relatively unknown in the West, advertises its latest phone as a "professional photography flagship." It introduces an internal gimbal camera system to the series, which it's selling outside China for the first time.

Now, let’s sum this up and see if the X50 Pro should be a hit or a miss. Despite being a “pro” the X50 Pro does not use the top-notch processor. However, does a pretty decent job when used for day to day activities and also while multitasking. With the first of its kind Gimble Stabilization system and fancy camera setup, you can consider buying this phone if you’re a photography enthusiast but if not, then you can afford to give this a miss and consider an OnePlus 8 Pro, Moto Edge, or the Iqoo 3.

We’ve come to a point in smartphone history where smartphone makers have to apply some sort of gimmick to stand out from the crowd. Vivo is definitely no stranger to that, with the Vivo NEX S’ pop-up camera and the Vivo APEX 2020’s seamless body.

The Vivo X50 Pro impressed me because of its remarkable gimbal camera technology. For content creators and vloggers, the X50 Pro can prove to be a sound investment. But the phone is not for everyone, especially those who will never use the X50 Pro’s advanced video capturing features. If you remove the gimbal camera tech from the X50 Pro, the device is just like any other smartphone. At Rs 49,990, the X50 P5o is certainly an expensive smartphone. But if you are someone who is interested in advanced video capturing a smartphone, go ahead and buy the X50 Pro.

Yet, Vivo's decision to not equip the phone with a flagship chipset from the Snapdragon 800 series may eventually see the X50 Pro lose the fight to flagships from Xiaomi, OnePlus and Realme. But then again, Indian buyers in the past have shown the propensity to rise above spec sheets and benchmark results, and invest on refinement in design and camera technologies. If that ends up being the case again, then Vivo might just have a major hit on its hand.

There are cheaper or faster phones that offer the rest of the features that vivo is offering. Yet, none of the competitors can match the vivo X50 Pro feature set. If the complete package is what works for you best, you should go for it. The X50 Pro is worth every penny and won't disappoint one bit those who appreciate the whole package.

As Vivo's first push into wider markets, we think the X50 Pro is a bit of a revelation. It delivers a first-of-its-kind gimbal stabilisation system, a decent overall camera setup, and solid build. Some software foibles hold it back at this stage, plus we don't know the pricing information, but as such adaptations get ironed out in the future it should spell success.

If the gimbal system works as advertised, the X50 Pro has a unique advantage in the crowded Android marketplace, but it’ll really come down to carrier support and how well priced the device is.

Qualcomm Adreno 620:
Scheda grafica integrata (negli Snapdragon 765 e 765G) basata sull'architettura Adreno 600. Supporta DirectX11_1, Vulkan 1.0, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.2.
