Non è sorprendente che Sony abbia definito questo Xperia XZ Premium il "meglio di Sony". Finora Sony non aveva avuto molto da dire nel mondo della VR ma con l'Xperia XZ Premium sarà predestinato a farlo.

There's no denying that Sony was chasing headlines with the Xperia Z5 Premium. We should all applaud Sony for what is has achieved in putting a 4K display in a smartphone, but feels like this hasn't been done with the right intentions. Battery issues were inevitable, and I'd really hoped that Sony had a plan to improve the battery life in the Xperia Z5 Premium. Instead, Sony has just hoped its battery would be sufficient and run with it.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a fine phone. But one vital detail that holds me back from recommending it: in every key area, other than screen size, it’s no better than the Sony Xperia Z5. Which costs over $400 less. If you want a big screen and all of the Sony features – great camera, water resistance, looks – then go for it. Just don’t be hoodwinked by the 4K marketing.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium does have many things going for it, but these are all shared with the smaller 5in 1080p Z5 which doesn’t have any of the disadvantages associated with the needless 4K screen. You’re really better off with a Z5. If you can live without water resistance, then the lure of the Nexus 6P and iPhone 6s beckon.

Easily Sony’s best phone of the year, the Z5 Premium may make it into the list for the best phone of the year, offering a solid version of Android, a ton of features, and one of the most lovely screens you’ll ever see. Simply put, this phone is a return to excellence for Sony, offering a truly high-end experience. If an iPhone isn’t on the cards and you’re after the best Android around, it would be hard to go past Sony’s beautiful and upgradeable Xperia Z5 Premium. Highly recommended.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is an interesting smartphone. It's launched with fanfare, but only really puts a higher resolution display on the front of the experience you'll get from the regular model. If you're after the Xperia experience in a larger format, if the 5.2-inch model isn't as big as you want, then the Z5 Premium might be perfect for you.

As far as flagship smartphones go, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is definitely up there with the best. Whether it’s worth it or not depends on why you want to buy the Z5 Premium. If you are doing it purely for the 4K display, I would honestly say you should not… or at least give it more thought. After all, it is running at 1080p around 90% of the time. You are probably better off getting a QHD screen that is running a higher definition at all times. However, if you are in the market for other features, such as waterproofing, a good battery life and a great build quality, this is a phone that ticks all the boxes. That said, pretty much all other current Sony devices do, as well. The real winner in the Xperia Z5 premium specs is the larger display, which some of you may prefer. Just make sure you understand the compromises that the 4K display has to make. Not to mention the fact that you are paying a much higher price for it. We’ll leave you with this – innovation spurs further innovation. While the 4K screen on the Xperia Z5 Premium is first-generation technology, the world of Ultra HD and beyond on your smartphone is certainly looming, and Sony can safely say it was the first.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a fine phone that you’ll be very happy with. It’s hard to avoid giving it a wholehearted endorsement, except for one vital detail: substantially, it’s no better than the Sony Xperia Z5. The specifications, the performance, the camera: anything the Z5 Premium can do, the Z5 can also do, except for the 4K selling point, which is really only for those with magic eyes, and offers no real practical advantage. There will be people who tell you they can tell the difference between this and a 1080p 5.5in screen. I think they’re kidding themselves, and even if they’re not, the difference still isn’t worth £130.

On the good side, battery life is excellent, call quality is great, and the interface is mostly snappy and clean, not to mention that the handset is water-resistant. And the camera as a whole gets the job done if you are just a casual photographer. In fact, if Sony managed to remedy the small user experience issues that are littered throughout the interface with the promised Marshmallow update, the Xperia Z5 Premium might stand a better chance against its rivals. At the moment, if you are not a devout Sony fan, we'd recommend you take a look at Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 or LG's V10 and see if they would suit your phablet needs better.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium isn’t for everyone. We wouldn’t recommend getting it for the 4K screen alone, as chances are you will not see a difference between the Z5P and a similar-sized QuadHD phone. If, however, you wanted a larger Xperia, the Z5 Premium won’t disappoint. If you only want an Xperia smartphone, but don’t care about 4K or the extra size, the Xperia Z5 would be a better (and cheaper) option, not to mention that the Z3+/Z4 offers the same internals, sans the fingerprint scanner. Those upgrading from an Xperia Z3 or older device should definitely check out the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium, but, if you’re currently rocking an Xperia Z3+/Z4, you’re not missing anything if you sit this one out.

Sony has done something impressive here by including the first ever 4K display on a smartphone, but it wasn’t exactly necessary. It may sound exciting and for those early tech adopters it’ll be on the top of a lot of must have lists… but when you consider battery life it’s not really good enough to justify the extra pixels. I really can’t see much of a difference between this and a 2K display so it’s a real shame Sony has decided to go for more rather than a better user experience. When it comes to design I wanted to see more of the 'standard' Xperia Z5 influence but instead Sony's gone for a mirrored finish, and I'm not sure it screams premium in the way the brand wanted it to. You may think you’re picking up a piece of technology history here, but instead you’re getting an unfinished-but-still-decent product. I’d recommend the Xperia Z5 or Xperia Z5 Compact over this because 4K is largely useless right now.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is good smartphone - well-built, well designed, a good camera, good performance, excellent audio, and poor battery backup. Unfortunately, it simply does not justify the price tag of Rs. 58,190. The iPhones, Galaxys and Notes are obvious alternatives to this, and even something like the Nexus 6P, at a much lower price, gives you a good alternative to it. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is good, but just not good enough.

Sony’s Xperia Z5 Premium is the biggest of the new Xperia Z5 family and also a moment in history, thanks to that world-first 4K screen. In truth it’s more of a pub brag than a genuinely useful feature, but the Premium is still a solid media machine that also boasts an excellent camera and strong performance. However, you'll pay a premium price (hohoho) for this phone, and with no real advantages over the standard Xperia Z5, plus poorer battery life and more difficult handling, we'd say go with the original flagship phone instead.

The Xperia Z5 Premium gets most of the feature checklist right - there are the stunning looks, the beasty performance and the high-end camera, which is full of potential. Sony's take on Android and its proprietary apps are great as well, especially with all the visual and functional integration with Sony's PlayStation consoles and BRAVIA TVs. The good news is this way Sony probably saved the Xperia Z5 Premium the headache of some really poor battery life numbers. The even better news is that the upscaling algorithm is so good that you won't even notice it.

What do you need to know about the Xperia Z5 Premium? On first impressions, it’s hella shiny and has an insane screen resolution. We're not entirely sure that any phone needs a 4K display, but we recall a time when 1080p screens were shooed away by those who stated that 720p would forever be enough.

The desire for a smaller phone shouldn't mean you have to compromise on its hardware or specification, and that's something Sony has absolutely nailed with its Xperia Z line-up. Whether you want a small-, medium- or large phone you'll get almost the same deal. With what we expect will be very little difference in performance, your buying choice very much comes down to what size phone you need and how much you have to spend - with the Z3 and Z3 Compact we found with its similar specification but significantly lower price the Compact actually offered the best value.

It’s difficult to get overly excited by the Xperia Z5 Premium. The design hasn’t changed much, and the Xperia Z styling has never been much to look at. The new features look good and it’s great to have a flagship with a microSD slot for easy memory upgrades.

However, for all its potential problems, the Z5 Premium and its 4K display certainly have my interest piqued. Of course, much of its appeal will no doubt rest on how much the phone will eventually cost when it launches in November, but Sony has yet to announce UK pricing at time of writing. Still, if it can get the price right and really show that 4K won't instantly kill your phone's battery life or performance levels, then it may will be on to a winner. I'll bring you my full review as soon as I get hold of a review sample.

Well, if you ever needed confirmation on that statement, it couldn't come in a more unequivocal manner than the launch of the Xperia Z5 family. Introducing a new, custom camera sensor, ticking the fingerprint checkbox, updating the looks and moving into a new large-screen flagship product category - all these moves are signs that Sony is keeping up with the times.

The Xperia Z5 Premium is a 5.5-inch enlarged version of the Xperia Z5, riding the increasingly-hazy line between smartphone and phablet. It’s certainly a hand-filler, and with its long rectangular design it’s tricky to use with just one hand. However, this isn’t a device that’s designed to be pulled out and played with for a few minutes. It’s supposed to be clutched in both hands and stared at for long periods, as you marvel over that mental 4K screen.

It's certainly exciting to see Sony pushing the boundaries with the 4K screen on the Xperia Z5 Premium. However, we can't see any advantage over Quad HD in this area and this tech is likely to fetch a high price. There's also the fact the mirrored finish gets grubby and this phone weighs a hefty 180g. There's little reason to pay extra compared to the regular Xperia Z5 which has the same core specs.

Qualcomm Adreno 430:
