Samsung Exynos 850

Il Samsung Exynos 850 è un sistema su chip (SoC) per smartphone entry level (basati su Android). È stato annunciato nell'ottobre 2019 e il primo dispositivo con esso è il Samsung Galaxy A21s. Il chip integra un processore con 8 piccoli nuclei ARM Cortex-A55 che effettuano il clock fino a 2 GHz (otta core).

Le prestazioni multi threaded sono abbastanza buone grazie agli 8 core, le prestazioni single threaded soffrono un po' per i piccoli core A55, anche se la frequenza di clock fino a 2 GHz può aiutare un po'.

Inoltre, il SoC integra un modem LTE (Cat.7 2CA fino a 300 MBit/s download, Cat.13 2CA 150 MBit/s upload), un modem Wi-fi 5 (802.11ac), un controller di memoria LPPDDR4x, un controller di memoria flash eMMC 5.1 e un motore video per la codifica e la decodifica FHD 60fps (H.265, H.264, VP9).

Viene prodotto nel moderno processo LPP a 8nm presso Samsung e dovrebbe offrire una buona efficienza energetica e quindi è adatto anche per piccoli smartphone.
