L'HP Pavilion 10-k000ng è un tablet basilare da 10.1" con tastiera dockable. C'è abbastanza potenza per applicazioni da ufficio ed Internet. Lo schermo ha angoli di visuale stabili offre una buona luminosità ed un ottimo contrasto. Il prezzo di 320 Euro (~$395) lo rende interessante anche per gli studenti. Una ricarica della batteria resiste per una giornata a scuola o all'università. Tuttavia la tastiera non è molto adatta a chi scrive parecchio. Chi cerca un portatile compatto per scrivere molto potrebbe preferire un netbook o subnotebooks a nostro parere. I modelli raccomandati per la tastiera sono ad esempio l'Acer Aspire V3-111 ed il Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E145 da 11.6".

Lo schermo high-resolution WUXGA molto luminoso (1920x1200 pixels) rende l'Acer Aspire Switch 10 SW5-012-13DP raccomandabile. L'Asus Transformer Book T100TA-C1-GR offre la migliore autonomia rispetto agli altri dispositivi. Chi cerca un tablet Windows con accesso mobile Internet dovrebbe dare uno sguardo allo Schenker Element o al Wortmann Terra Pad 1060. Entrambi hanno un modem 3G. Un "Volk's Tablet" della Trekstor è stato lanciato come alternativa. Il tablet ha un modem 3G e costa 250 Euro, ~$309 (200 Euro, ~$247, w/o 3G modem). La sua configurazione è virtualmente identica a quella del Pavilion. Solo il processore (Atom Z3735F) è leggermente più lento come velocità Turbo. Se si aggiunge il prezzo della tastiera dock (circa 50 Euro, ~$61), il dispositivo è un affare.
