While we would like to see better touchpad support for Windows 8 gestures, it's a small complaint on such a potent gaming system. In terms of performance alone, the MSI GT70 2PC Dominator is well ahead of the Asus G75VW-DH72, and easily replaces it as our Editors' Choice for midrange gaming laptops. If you want even more performance horsepower, you'll need to pay for it, leaving midrange gaming rigs behind and opting for premium systems like the Origin EON17-SLX (2014), which put up better benchmark scores but costs $1,300 more.

Those are issues that aren't always tackled by the MSI's rivals, though, and the GT70 is faster and cheaper – the top specification versions of both Alienware machines is several hundred pounds higher. That makes the GT70 one of the best value gaming notebooks on the market.

None of the MSI's rivals address all of the minor issues that affect the GT70, and all of them are slower. If you need a brutish gaming machine and you're more concerned with benchmarks than batteries, then this is the best gaming notebook on the market.

EN→IT Archive.org versionThe MSI GT70 is a traditional gaming laptop, so it’s got the usual range of strengths and weaknesses: incredible gaming power, a strong processor, and loud design that’s designed to attract attention. The screen and speakers are good, and the keyboard is also impressive, but the MSI is hampered by its sheer size, loud fan and poor battery life. Neither of the MSI’s rivals solved all of these problems, though, and the GT70 stands tall over the Alienware 14 and Asus G750JX in two key areas: it’s much quicker in games, and it’s better value than both, with the Alienware’s top models proving more expensive and the Asus costing a similar amount for poorer performance.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
