If the upgradability issue doesn’t bother you, then I can highly recommend the MSI Creator Z17HX for creative workflows. It’s built like a tank, it’s surprisingly fast for its size, and it features one of the best out-of-the-box color-accurate displays and color-management systems we’ve ever tested. For many creative professionals, that covers everything they need from their work laptop. But if upgradability is a priority, if you’re fine with calibrating your own display, and/or the $3,600 price tag is just too rich for your blood, there are at least three excellent alternatives, including MSI’s own Z16HX Studio, that are worth a closer look.

You can either manually enable the battery-saver mode or set it to automatically kick in when your laptop's power reaches a certain percentage (20% by default). Letting you manually enable the battery-saver mode is a great option for extending battery life when a wall outlet isn't available for charging, like on flights to events or on the floor at conventions. By tweaking the power settings, I was able to squeeze about 6 hours out of the battery. All of this power and performance comes at a cost. The MSI Creator Z17 HX Studio will set you back about $3,599. But with premium-grade components and plenty of room for user upgrades later on, it's a worthwhile investment for established content creators and creative professionals looking to upgrade their work rig.

There’s a lot to like about the Creator Z17 HX Studio. It’s well-built, nicely sized for a 17-inch laptop, and it provides solid performance for creators and gamers. But its display is just a bit less colorful than the most demanding creators want to see, and its RTX 4070 GPU can’t keep up with some of the faster machines available. Even so, it’s a competitive laptop at its $3,60o price, and it will satisfy most people with its performance and display quality. I’ll give it a recommendation, but suggest you look closely at the competition before pulling the trigger.

NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU:

Scheda grafica di fascia alta per laptop basata sull'architettura Ada Lovelace. Offre 8 GB GDDR6 (128 Bit) ed è configurabile con un TGP di 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).

Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).
