The Yoga 2 Pro packs a high-resolution display which is simply overkill for those running basic productivity software and is suitable for those using video and photo editing tools. The weight of the Yoga 2 Pro and the size of its screen also mean that its tablet mode is only partially successful.

The Yoga 2 is a great convertible laptop. It features a gorgeous screen, excellent ergonomics, average battery life and great build quality. It's short comings did prevent it from winning our Best Buy, but if it's a laptop you want within Rs.60,000, then this is the one for you.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 13 feels like a big laptop, and not in a bad way -- despite some issues with having to readjust how you type (the right shift key is small) and some snafus with the trackpad (there were some sensitivity issues), the laptop is a solid machine, and is particularly handy because of its various modes, allowing users to prop it up in the best position for any given moment. While it doesn't feel quite as svelte and powerful as some of the other recent machines we've reviewed from Lenovo, the design is very appealing, and the machine holds up well in general usage.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 13, while not as nice as the Pro version, is still an excellent hybrid laptop. Some might still find it a bit clunky to use as a tablet regularly -- and it is. But the flexibility to use it in that position as well as all the others, without sacrificing the feel of a regular clamshell, is great.

All in all, the Lenovo Yoga 2 13 is a solid convertible hybrid laptop with good, but not stellar performance, and it doesn't quite live up to the build quality of past and current Yoga models. The convertible category is hit or miss, so we still haven't nailed down an Editors' Choice, but comparing it against the strongest competitors, namely the Dell XPS 12 and the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, the Lenovo Yoga 2 13 falls a bit short.

The $1,000 Ultrabook space is crowded, and Lenovo is tickling the underbelly with their $100 cheaper Yoga 2 13 inch model. The question is, is that enough of a price difference to make the Yoga 2 13 a slam-dunk? Probably not, but when you narrow it down to Windows 8.1 convertibles that can work both as a tablet and a laptop, it becomes more attractive because convertibles with a Core i5 generally cost more than laptops.

It might be amusing to give the Yoga 2 13 to a friend who wasn't familiar with it and who never opened the lid more than 120 degrees or so—using it as a perfectly fine clamshell laptop, and not realizing the screen can keep going all the way around to tablet mode. Certainly if we didn't know that the Yoga was anything but a very sleek, reasonably fast, eminently portable ultrabook, we'd have no trouble recommending it.

That's the idea behind Lenovo's Yoga line of "convertible" Ultrabook notebooks: the Yoga 2 Pro (with a quad-DH touchscreen geared toward entertainment), the Yoga 2 11 (a compact notebook with an 11-inch touchscreen) and the Yoga 2 13 (with a 13.3-inch touchscreen). Each ultrabook features a pair of trick hinges that allows you to open the lid not just 120 degrees like a traditional laptop, but a full 360 degrees. That puts the back of the screen flush with the underside of the base so you can use the touchscreen as a tablet.

Overall, the Lenovo Yoga 2 13 should be called the Yoga 1.5. While it’s certainly better than its predecessor, the new model feels like an incremental update. That wouldn’t be a problem if the Yoga was frequently updated, but we’ve been waiting well over a year for a new entry-level model, and what a year it has been.

With the $899 IdeaPad Yoga 2 13, Lenovo continues to evolve its winning hybrid. You get a vivid 1080p display and a host of preinstalled apps to enhance and complement each of the notebook's modes. However, below-average performance and somewhat short battery life keep the Yoga 2 13 from earning a higher rating.

The IdeaPad Yoga 2 was a nice surprise for us. Its components make it a versatile, fun and easy-to-use computer that can take on many forms (Tent, Stand, Tablet, Laptop) by simply pivoting the screen. Plus, it has superb picture quality, something that's missing from the Pro model.

Appreciating the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 is all about managing your expectations as it doesn’t offer the screen quality of a dedicated tablet or the battery life of a MacBook Air. But we kind of don't care, because the hinge mechanism makes for a great device to use in multiple situations on the go. And at under £400 the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 successfully fills a niche that its Asus and Acer competitors haven't quite managed.

By making this the least-expensive Yoga to date (not counting the best-forgotten Windows RT version), Lenovo makes a strong case that laptop and hybrid shoppers should expect more from budget PCs. At the very least, a solid build with an IPS display, decent keyboard, and a touch screen.

In the final analysis, the Yoga 2 11 is just a good laptop that’s capable of some cool party tricks. If your primary tablet use-case is movies, business presentations, or other applications that will benefit from its tent and stand modes, it’s a superior alternative to just buying another clamshell laptop. I don’t see it replacing the reading experience a dedicated tablet delivers, though. I’d also recommend you audition the trackpad and keyboard before laying down your cash—they didn't seem up to snuff.

While the Yoga 2 11 is by no means perfect, we think that what you get for $499 provides excellent value. Aside from a somewhat flexy keyboard deck and less-than-optimal keyboard, the convertible is well-crafted and well-designed. Its bright and colorful screen and vivid-sounding speakers make it ideal for streaming video, and its Pentium processor and 4GB of RAM are capable of running most Windows apps efficiently.

If you've been eyeing one of the ultrabook-class Lenovo Yoga laptops, but don't need ultrabook power (and its premium pricing), the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 is a good option. However, for almost $100 less, the HP Pavilion x360 offers the same internals in a flashier body. The HP x360 is also better connected, with a full-size HDMI port and Ethernet. Ultimately, if you want a highly portable hybrid laptop, the Asus Transformer Book T100TA retains the Editors' Choice; it's $100 cheaper, and offers better battery life and performance.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 11-inch is smaller than the 13-inch version, but suffers from many of the same problems. While using the system as a tablet is a bit less awkward, it’s still uncomfortable due to excessive weight and the uncovered keyboard, which always lingers. Battery life is average at best, and build quality is unremarkable, though the 11-inch version’s $499 MSRP partially offsets some of these flaws.

The IdeaPad Yoga 2 strikes a supremely well-judged balance: Lenovo has managed to trim costs without unduly compromising performance or battery life, while retaining all the plus points of the Yoga’s hybrid design. Most impressively, the 11.6in IPS display is leaps and bounds better than any £500 laptop or hybrid we’ve reviewed to date. Those looking for an affordable, portable everyday device should look no further – for £500, the IdeaPad Yoga 2 is quite simply as good as it gets.

The latest Lenovo is another slick hybrid, with a good mechanism that's strong and easy to use. As usual, though, machines of this type involve compromises: it's too cumbersome for tablet use, and the keyboard is too poor to make this a satisfying laptop. Despite this, the Yoga 2 11 is the best cheap hybrid we've seen – but only take the plunge if you really do need a convertible device rather than a dedicated laptop or tablet.

We’ve long been fans of Lenovo’s 360-degree hinge, and it continues to work well: it moves smoothly while retaining the strength to withstand daily use, and it’s easy to switch between the Yoga’s four positions. We love the 360-degree design and the price of the Yoga 2 11, but we're less keen on the sluggish performance, bulkyness and iffy keyboard. It's not a bad hybrid, but it's not our first choice.

Rinascita dell'Atom.

The HP Pavilion x360 and Lenovo Yoga 2. Both are 11-inch convertible Windows PCs with a 360-degree hinge design, meaning that you can fold the keyboard back under the display to use it as a tablet. The Pavilion x360 starts at $400, and the Yoga 2 starts at $489. If you’re in the market for a new laptop, and like the idea of hybrid design, the Lenovo Yoga 2 is a good choice. It’s a little more expensive than the HP Pavilion x360, but you’ll get more for the money.
