Intel i7-7567U

L'Intel Core i7-7567U è un veloce SoC dual-core per notebooks basato sull'architettura Kaby Lake ed è stato annunciato a Gennaio 2017. La CPU ha due processor cores con clock da 3.5-4 GHz (due cores fino a 3.9 GHz). Il processore può eseguire fino a quattro threads simultaneamente grazie all'Hyper Threading. Monta anche una GPU Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 GPU con 64 MB di eDRAM, un controller di memoria dual-channel (DDR4) oltre alla de-codifica video VP9 ed H.265. Il chip è ancora realizzato in 14nm con transistors FinFET.

Rispetto al Core i7-7560, la 7567U ha un TDP più elevato da 28 vs. 15 Watts e anche clocks superiori.

Architettura

Intel di base utilizza la stessa micro architettura rispetto alla Skylake, quindi le prestazioni per-MHz non differiscono. Il produttore ha solo rielaborato la tecnologia Speed Shift per una regolazione dinamica più veloce dei voltaggi e dei clocks, ed il migliorato processo 14nm consente frequenze maggiori unitamente ad una migliore efficienza rispetto al passato.

Performance

Grazie agli elevati clocks fino a 4 GHz e ai 64 MB di eDRAM (è può essere usata anche come L4 cache dalla CPU), il Core i7-7567U è il più veloce dual-core per notebooks all'inizio del 2017. Compete con i modelli quad-core con clock più basso e convince per le eccellenti prestazioni single-thread. Alcuni giochi possono tuttavia richiedere un vero quad-core e non girare perfettamente con un dual-core, nonostante l'Hyper Threading.

Grafica

L'Intel Iris Plus 650 Graphics è il modello GT3e della GPU Kaby Lake (Intel Gen. 9.5). Ha 48 Execution Units e gira a 300-1100 MHz e le performance sono paragonabili ad una GeForce 920MX grazie alla veloce cache eDRAM. Tuttavia, ci non sono significativi miglioramenti rispetto alla vecchia Iris Pro 550, quindi i giochi moderni spesso non sono fluidi o solo con settings medi o bassi, rispettivamente.

Diversamente dalla Skylake, la Kaby lake ora supporta anche l'H.265/HEVC Main 10 con una profondità del colore da 10-bit oltre al codec Google VP9. I processori dual-core Kaby Lake annunciati a Gennaio dovrebbero supportare anche l'HDCP 2.2.

Consumo Energetico

Il chip è realizzato con un processo in 14nm migliorato e con transistors FinFET, che migliora ulteriormente l'efficienza. Intel specifica un TDP da 28 Watts, che può essere ridotto a 23 Watts (cTDP Down) in base allo scenario di utilizzo. Il TDP è abbastanza elevato rispetto al comune TDP da 15-Watt per i processori dual-cores, ma consente un miglior utilizzo del Turbo CPU e GPU.
