Intel 4020Y

L'Intel Core i3-4020Y è un processore ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core per ultrabooks e tablets presentato nel terzo quadrimestre 2013. Si basa sull'architettura Haswell ed è realizzato in 22nm. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, i due cores possono gestire fino a quattro threads in parallelo, con un conseguente miglior utilizzo della CPU. Ogni core offre una velocità base di 1.5 GHz (manca il supporto Turbo Boost).

Haswell è il successore dell'architettura Ivy Bridge con miglioramenti sia sulle prestazioni della GPU che della CPU. Le CPUs sono prodotte in 22nm ed offrono una branch prediction ottimizzata e porte execution aggiuntive, migliorando le prestazioni per clock di quasi il 10 percento. Inoltre le nuove features come AVX2 ed FMA dovrebbero incrementare le prestazioni con le future applicazioni.

Le prestazioni del Core i3-4020Y dovrebbero essere di circa il 10 - 15 percento superiori rispetto al Core i3-3229Y Ivy Bridge based. Quando si utilizzano le nuove istruzioni come le AVX2, le prestazioni possono essere anche migliori. Pertanto, la CPU ha potenza a sufficienza per applicazioni da ufficio e multimedia così come per la maggioranza delle altre applicazioni.

La HD Graphics 4200 integrata offre 20 Execution Units (EUs) con clock da 200 - 850 MHz (con Turbo Boost), il che la rende leggermente più veloce rispetto alla precedente HD Graphics 4000 (con clocks simili). Tuttavia, la HD 4200 è molto più lenta rispetto alla HD 5000 di altri modelli ULV (con TDP superiore).

L'i3-4020Y ha un TDP da 11.5 watts (SDP 6 watts) incluse scheda grafica, controller di memoria, VRMs e chipset integrato. Pertanto, la CPU è adatta per ultrabooks molto piccoli o tablets.
