Intel 3110M

L'Intel Core i3-3110M è un processore dual-core per laptops basato sull'architettura Ivy Bridge. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, i due cores possono gestire fino a quattro threads in parallelo consentendo un miglior utilizzo della CPU. Ogni core offre una velocità base di 2.4 GHz, il Turbo Boost non è supportato. Come i suoi predecessori Sandy-Bridge-based, offre 3 MB di L3-Cache.

Ivy Bridge comporta un miglioramento nella riduzione della scheda rispetto all'architettura Sandy Bridge con miglioramenti sia per le prestazioni della GPU che della CPU. Le CPUs sono prodotte in 22nm (contro i 32nm delle CPUs Sandy Bridge) e sono le prime ad introdurre transistors 3D per un incremento dell'efficienza energetica rispetto ai processori Sandy Bridge con clock simile. Altre nuove features sono il PCI Express 3.0 integrato ed il supporto DDR3(L)-1600.

Le prestazioni del Core i3-3110M dovrebbero essere leggermente superiori ai processori Sandy Bridge con clock simile a causa dei leggeri miglioramenti dell'architettura. Pertanto, le prestazioni complessive dovrebbero essere superiori di circa il 5% più veloce rispetto alla vecchia i3-2370M. Grazie al loro Turbo Boost, i modelli Core-i5 come l'i5-3210M sono significativamente più veloci (10 - 30 %).

Come la maggioranza degli altri dual-cores Ivy Bridge, l'i5-3210M ha un TDP da 35 W. Di conseguenza, anche i piccoli laptops possono usare il Core i3.
