Intel 2350M

L'Intel Core i3-2350M è un processore dual core per laptops. Si basa sull'architettura Sandy Bridge ed offre l'Hyper-threading per gestire 4 threads contemporaneamente (per un miglior utilizzo della pipeline). Rispetto alla più veloce Core i5, la i3 non offre la tecnica Turbo Boost per la CPU e di conseguenza ha un clock di 2.3 GHz (max). Rispetto alla Core i3-2310M, la 2330M offre 200 MHz in più di core clock rate.

La Sandy Bridge rappresenta l'evoluzione dell'architettura Arrendale. Tra i principali miglioramenti ci sono le istruzioni AVX 256 Bit, il Turbo Boost migliorato 2.0 (non abilitato per il processore della 2350M) e l'integrazione della scheda grafica nel CPU core da 32nm.

La i3-2350M offre una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics 3000) che ha dimostrato di essere nettamente più veloce rispetto alla vecchia Intel HD Graphics delle CPUs Arrendale. Poiché la nuova GPU è integrata nella CPU, anche questa è realizzata in 32nm e condivide la veloce level 3 cache con i cores della CPU (usando un nuovo ring bus). Nella 2350M ha un clock da 650-1150MHz (con Turbo Boost). Le CPUs Sandy Bridge più veloci hanno un clock fino a 1300 MHz (come la i5-2520M).

Inoltre, è incluso un controller di memoria dual-channel DDR3 migliorato sulla base della CPU che è quindi usata da CPU e GPU. Supporta fino a 16GB di DDR3-1333.

Grazie ai miglioramenti dell'architettura, le prestazioni medie del Core i3-2350M sono superiori rispetto ai Core i3 Arrandale senza Turbo Boost. Nei synthetic benchmarks, le prestazioni dovrebbero essere leggermente sopra il Core i3-390M (2.5 GHz) e di conseguenza adeguate per la maggioranza delle applicazioni.

Il valore di 35W di TDP include la GPU integrata ed il controller di memoria.
