L'Intel Core i5-12600K è una CPU di fascia media per desktop basata sull'architettura Alder Lake. È stato annunciato per la prima volta nel novembre 2021 e offre 6 core di prestazioni e 4 core di efficienza. I core di performance (P-cores) supportano HyperThreading, portando a 16 threads che possono essere elaborati contemporaneamente. I core ad alte prestazioni possono essere clockati fino a 4,9 GHz, i core ad alta efficienza possono essere clockati fino a 3,6 GHz. Tutti i core possono utilizzare 20 MB di Smart Cache. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta fino a 128 GB DDR5 con 4800 MT/s (doppio canale).

Il Thread Director (in hardware) può supportare il sistema operativo per decidere quale thread utilizzare sui core di performance o di efficienza per le migliori prestazioni.

Per i compiti AI, la CPU integra anche GNA 3.0 e DL Boost. Quick Sync nella versione 8 è lo stesso delle CPU Rocket Lake e supporta la decodifica MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1, JPEG, VP8, VP9, HEVC e AV1 in hardware.

La scheda grafica integrata è basata sull'architettura Xe e chiamata Intel UHD Graphics 770. Il clock è compreso tra 300 e 1,45 GHz.

La CPU è valutata a 125 W di potenza di base e 150 Watt di potenza massima Turbo. È prodotta in 10nm, chiamato Intel 7, processo di Intel.
