Il prezzo della versione con i5 e memorie 8/512 costa 1199 euro, mentre i7 16/1TB e 1499 euro o 1399 euro in questo momento in offerta. Non pochissimi quindi ma nemmeno esagerati per un computer alto di gamma e con display, prestazioni e portabilità davvero niente male!

MateBook 14s è un notebook senza punti deboli. È bravo in tutto: dal lavoro, allo svago vi saprà accompagnare al meglio delle sue possibilità, tanto che l'unica cosa che potreste chiedergli è di costare un po' meno. Sì perché è così buono, che anche con qualche piccola rinuncia qua là sarebbe comunque rimasto un buon portatile. E magari anche più economico.

Huawei MateBook 14s è un notebook destinato a tutti coloro che hanno bisogno di potenza e portabilità. Questo notebook infatti è stato progettato proprio per soddisfare le esigenze di coloro che lavorano in mobilità. Una vocazione testimoniata anche dall’adesivo Intel Evo che troviamo accanto al touchpad. Ci troviamo quindi di fronte ad un portabile dalle dimensioni contenute, robusto, con una buona autonomia e performance sempre all’altezza della situazione. Se poi avete altri dispositivi Huawei, come uno smartphone o un tablet, potrete beneficiare di tutti i vantaggi dell’ecosistema, dallo Share tramite NFC alla multiscreen collaboration.

Siamo quindi al momento di fare i conti e ovviamente non si possono fare i conti senza sapere il prezzo. Il MateBook 14s costa 1199 euro nella versione base con Core i5 e arriva fino a 1499 euro, per la verità già scontato a 1399, per il modello da noi provato, ovvero il top di gamma con Core i7 di 11esima generazione. Non è una soluzione economica e su questo non ci piove, posso però dirvi che a mio modo di vedere è una spesa comunque congrua rispetto a quello che questo notebook offre. Non è infatti raro trovare in commercio soluzioni con prezzi simili ma piattaforme che non possono portare alle stesse prestazioni. Lo comprerei? Probabilmente non subito, ma se dovesse trovarsi intorno ai 1200 euro potrebbe rivelarsi un vero affare. Lo scorso anno avevo definito il MateBook 14 come il miglior notebook che Huawei avesse mai prodotto e questo 14s conferma sostanzialmente quel giudizio, portando con sé alcune importanti migliorie.

The MateBook 14s has not one, not two, but four speakers. Sounds like a lot, but the volume isn't that loud. That's because the speakers are all at the bottom, so the sound is somewhat muffled. If you plan to watch videos or listen to music, we recommend using headphones or earphones. Besides that, the laptop can be connected to other products such as MatePad tablets or Mate series smartphones. This allows you to use the devices as extra screens and interact with them via the laptop. For instance, you could drag and drop to copy files easily. Unfortunately, I don't own a Huawei device, so I didn't get to try that. Overall, the Huawei MateBook 14s is an attractive option for professionals, especially with its compact design and high performance for productivity. Unlike most computers in this price category, the MateBook 14s offers a touch screen that can simplify your daily tasks and comes with a good display.

Huawei may be struggling (outside China) with its smartphones right now thanks to the continuing ban on Google Mobile Services, but the 2021 MateBook 14s shows the company on top form with its laptops. Now that the keyboard-embedded webcam is no longer an issue, there are no deal-breakers, although it would be good to see a privacy cover for the webcam, along with a boost to 1080p resolution. Battery life is good, the keyboard is great to work with, there's plenty of storage and a powerful processor to keep things going, while the touch screen's 90Hz refresh rate makes for smoother working. It's just a shame the Spruce Green chassis isn't available for the higher 1TB specification.
