The laptop’s price of around $549 reveals its mid-range nature, and while it has its fair share of limitations in terms of performance, I found the MagicBook 14 to be a versatile laptop, and it will be very ideal for students or on-the-go workers who need a relatively affordable computing machine with great battery life, good performance, attractive design, and solid build quality. One could argue that this isn’t a device tailored to provide experiences that users would get with devices from Razer or ASUS’ ROG line – but at the end of the day, it’s a capable machine nevertheless, and users determined to purchase the MagicBook should keep its limitations in mind.

Of course, I would, as long as productivity is your foremost intention for buying the device. If you want a laptop you can play some intensive games on as well, this isn't it. However, if you work from home, or you want a notebook you can easily take on the go with you, then the MagicBook 14 is it. It'll handle most work-related tasks with ease. It has a nice screen. The 2022 version of the 14 is pretty rapid in terms of processing, and you can watch movies and listen to music on it too, making it a fantastic all-rounder. If you've got the 2020 version and it is time for an upgrade, then you'll get that with this nifty little 'puter.

The Honor MagicBook 14 (2022) looks to be a fantastic productivity laptop that not only excels at day-to-day workloads, but can even blitz through entry-level content creation too. It’s an excellent alternative to the MacBook Air for those who want to stick with Windows. It’s a shame that the design is a little bland, while also being noticeably chunkier and heavier than the vast majority of laptops at this price. And while the screen is perfectly fine, it pales in comparison to the OLED models that are only a few hundred quid more expensive. This is a great productivity laptop that should serve you well in your studies or office work, but it simply doesn’t offer any of the flashy features or styling to make it a more tempting option than a MacBook Air or Dell XPS 13 Plus.

So, is this thing worth it? You’ll have to part with €1,099 to get the base model. The variant with the RTX 2050 GPU will cost you €1,299. If you’re planning to use this laptop for video editing, gaming, or some serious work in photoshop, we’d suggest you go for the variant with a dedicated graphics card. Everything else can be handled by this laptop, and considering that alternatives are usually more expensive, this is not a bad deal at all. The display is good as long as you’re not planning to use it outdoors, the camera is decent, the performance is good, and the battery life is excellent. The speakers are also not bad, despite their location, and the fingerprint scanner does the job too. You have all the ports you need, and so on. If you’re in the market for a 14-inch laptop, which is also quite powerful, this is not a bad buy.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile:

Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia media basata sull'architettura Turing con funzioni di raytracing e 2.048 shader (più di una RTX 2060) ma solo un piccolo bus di memoria a 64 bit.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
