Il Core i9-13900HX e la RTX 4080 di GeForce forniscono prestazioni sufficienti per l'elaborazione video, il rendering e i giochi QHD. La tastiera del portatile offre anche un'illuminazione individuale dei tasti, sei tasti macro e molto spazio per i tasti freccia.

The latest Omen 17 is no different in that regard, as it comes with a powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU and an Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU. The refreshed core components from the new GPU (Ada Lovelace) and CPU generation (Raptor Lake) are the main differences to last year’s Omen 17. The casing remains largely unchanged, however. It also sits in a black chassis with a plastic underside and a lid adorned with the Omen logo and lettering. The angular design gives the impression of pure power. While this laptop has a lot to offer, there are a few unimpressive aspects to it. Fingerprints on the lid and wrist rest are a nuisance after a short time. The lid also wobbles when you change the viewing angle and the case has no ports on the back, making cable management difficult. That said, those are minor quibbles with an otherwise outstanding gaming laptop.

L'Omen 17 mostra in modo impressionante cosa può essere un portatile da gioco da 17 pollici, offrendo prestazioni di fascia media ad un livello stabile ed elevato, mentre il raffreddamento funziona ad un livello di rumore sorprendentemente moderato grazie alla riuscita implementazione del controllo. Solo alcune delle capacità di tuttofare vengono lasciate un po' indietro.

Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i9-13900HX: CPU mobile basata sulla serie Raptor Lake che offre 24 core (8 core per le prestazioni, 16 core per l'efficienza) con un core Boost fino a 5,8 GHz per i core P. Simile al Desktop i9-13900K, ma con velocità di clock e TDP ridotti.
AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c, Ryzen 8040):
R7 8845HS: Un potente chip della famiglia Hawk Point che ha visto la luce nell'H2 2023. Riteniamo che l'8845HS sia un R7 7840HS sotto mentite spoglie. L'8845HS è dotato di 8 core (16 thread grazie al supporto SMT) che funzionano fino a 5,1 GHz; oltre alla piena potenza dell'architettura Zen 4, il chip è dotato della tecnologia Ryzen AI di seconda generazione, destinata a rendere l'AI generativa più onnipresente che mai. Infine, ma non meno importante, la Radeon 780M funge da GPU integrata.
