Costa 4499 euro di listino, ha l’hardware super spinto e potente ma devo dire anche versatile grazie al secondo display. Non so cosa dirvi, non so se mi è piaciuto o non mi è piaciuto, è secondo me un pc per usi molto specifici, molto verticali, per chi lo utilizza come stazione fissa e non vuole avere più schermi perchè magari ha una scrivania piccola. Per me, che sono spesso in mobilità, forse è una soluzione che non mi soddisfa al 100%. Difficile dare un giudizio netto ad un pc che come prestazioni non ha rivali. L’aspetto che non mi ha fatto impazzire è l’autonomia. Staccato da qualsiasi fonte di alimentazione la durata della batteria si aggira intorno ai 50 minuti con un utilizzo gaming fino a 5 ore se si utilizza la suite Office. Luci e ombre per un mostro, una nuova tipologia di pc, che non è per tutti.

It’s also very expensive and not exactly portable, but if you could live with that and have the dollars to match your pursuit for a top-of-the-line gaming notebook despite these unusual times, then I can't think of a better recommendation. And that's why this notebook deserves our Editor's Choice seal of approval.

I don’t settle for less, and I often pay a heavy premium for owning some of the finest legends that has walked the earth. I don’t compromise, so it’s extremely hard to satisfy my needs when it comes to my portable companion. When I bought my MSI GS65, I told myself that I will be good for at least 5 years and two years into owning it, this is the first time I see the urge of upgrading to this.

In the event we were happy with Armoury Crate and were fairly impressed by the way the laptop switches between Silent, Performance and Turbo Modes on the fly. We think you will agree after watching our video that Silent Mode is not completely accurate and might better be named ‘Quiet’. Performance and Turbo Modes are well named but might perhaps come with a warning notice that you will need headphones to keep the noise at bay.

All this work Asus has put into the ROG Zephyrus Duo would be meaningless if it weren't worth the effort to have a second display. The primary display in our case is a 15.6-inch 60Hz 4K panel. It's factory-calibrated, G-Sync-certified, and can hit 100 percent of Adobe RGB. It's not particularly bright at a measured 300 nits. Asus offers this as a compromise for those who want to do content creation on the laptop. That's fine, but for a gaming laptop, we think the other option might be better: a 300Hz 1080p display.

As for the performance and thermals aspects, sure, those are going to heavily weigh in your decision as well, but I don’t think they’re not going to be unique to this laptop and I expect other OEMs to offer similar hardware in their top-tier models as well throughout this year. I do know Asus will in their ROG Scar models, and I can’t imagine others won’t. Otherwise, though, these Asus notebooks going to be at a great advantage over the competition, as the AMD Ryzen 5000 + Nvidia RTX 3000 hardware is a significant leap over the previous gens, from the little I can tell so far. Can’t wait for the review samples so I can share more with you.

Regardless of its freaky look, and inspiring features, the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE (GX551) is one of the best gaming notebooks on the market right now. Some of this may be because of clever engineering. Not only because of the use of liquid metal for the CPU die, but also because the inclusion of a secondary display, that tilts towards the user, allows for more air to enter the chassis. Of course, for that to happen, the manufacturer has to do their homework. And ASUS definitely did. With the help of the additional grills beneath the ROG ScreenPad Plus, we see a decrease in GPU temperatures, compared to the ROG Strix G17 G713 by 12°C. For pretty much the same configuration, including the RTX 3070 (130W).

Con il marchio Asus, l'azienda produce un'ampia gamma di prodotti, tra cui laptop, desktop, schede madri, schede grafiche, monitor, smartphone e apparecchiature di rete , sistemi completi e componenti PC per utenti finali.
Con il marchio ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS produce laptop da gioco conosciuti dai giocatori per le loro potenti specifiche, schede grafiche dedicate, display ad alta frequenza di aggiornamento e sistemi di raffreddamento avanzati.
Oltre ai giochi, viene offerta un'ampia gamma di notebook per esigenze e budget diversi, dagli ultrabook ultrasottili e leggeri ai versatili convertibili 2 in 1 e alle opzioni economiche. Nel 2023, Asus deteneva una quota di mercato globale del 7% del mercato dei PC.
La soddisfazione del cliente per i notebook ASUS riguarda le prestazioni, le caratteristiche e il buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei notebook ASUS. Tuttavia, come con qualsiasi marca, ci sono segnalazioni occasionali di problemi come surriscaldamento, compatibilità dei driver o problemi di qualità costruttiva.
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip TU104 con 3.072 shader. Funziona a velocità di clock ridotte rispetto a un laptop RTX 2080 Super per ottenere un consumo energetico molto più basso. Il TGP è specificato tra 80 e 90 Watt con diverse velocità di clock.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU: Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip Ampere GA106 con 3072 core. Disponibile in diverse versioni con un TDP da 60 a 115 Watt.
Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

Prodotto in un processo migliorato a 14nm (14nm++). Al momento dell'annuncio, l'i9-10980HK è la più veloce CPU Comet Lake-H e la più veloce CPU per laptop sul mercato. Grazie al moltiplicatore libero, la CPU può anche essere facilmente overcloccata (ma potrebbe non avere molto headroom).
