A parte le discussioni sul display con refresh rate a 60 Hz, difficile trovare punti deboli in questo device che è l’iPhone standard più vicino ai Pro che Apple abbia mai prodotto. Possiede infatti lo stesso potentissimo chipset A18 pronto per accogliere Apple Intelligence, la stessa memoria Ram, le stesse finezze tecniche come tasto azione e camera control presenti sui modelli nobili Pro, dal quale differisce per un display come detto in precedenza meno spinto e più piccolo, materiali meno pregiati e comparto fotocamera più semplice. Tutte specifiche che, all’atto pratico di utilizzo, non verranno quasi prese in seria considerazione dalla maggior parte dell’utenza standard. iPhone 16 è inoltre disponibile in bellissimi colori, accattivanti e moderni, ha un’ergonomia invidiabile e un peso ridotto che gli permette di essere uno degli smartphone più comodo da utilizzare quotidianamente.

E come sempre è giunto il momento di riassumere un pochino quanto detto e di scoprire quanto costa questo nuovo iPhone 16, anzi, partiamo proprio da qui. iPhone 16 nella versione base, ovvero quella con 128 GB di storage, è disponibile ad un prezzo di listino di 979 euro, esattamente lo stesso dello scorso anno. Resta uguale anche il prezzo della versione da 256 GB, ovvero 1109 euro; a mio modo di vedere questa è il vero taglio di memoria da prendere in considerazione come base, specie se non ci si vuole affidare al cloud e se si è soliti tenere molte applicazioni installate. Per intenderci, solo effettuando il ripristino del backup del mio iPhone 15 Pro Max avevo già occupato oltre 100 GB.

Uno smartphone, quello che abbiamo provato, che avrebbe potuto essere perfetto se avesse avuto lo schermo con un refresh più elevato. Comprensibile che una azienda che deve gestire due diversi modelli in segmento premium trovi sempre maggior difficoltà nel cercare il punto di equilibrio, per evitare che i due modelli si disturbino a vicenda, ma crediamo che con tutto quello che ha in più il “Pro” se fossero stati dati i 120 Hz sul modello base non sarebbe cambiato assolutamente nulla.

The iPhone 16 is the best non-Pro iPhone ever made, and the most tempting iPhone in years from an Android perspective. In particular, I can't get over just how comfortable it is in the hand, and how nice the Ultramarine color is. Make sure you're not buying it for the future of iOS 18 — as no-one should buy something for the promise of future updates — but rather for what it is now: an excellent entry into the Apple ecosystem. This impression faded a little after the first few hours with the iPhone 16. This is because the action button and the new camera control significantly change the operation of the basic model. Together with the new iOS 18, this results in a completely new user experience—and I'm really keen to explore it further. Apple A18 GPU: La GPU A18 di Apple integra cinque core, ray-tracing hardware e supporto mesh. Apple afferma che la GPU A18 è fino al 40% più veloce rispetto alla GPU A16 dell'iPhone 15. Nei nostri benchmark, l'unità grafica è posizionata tra la vecchia GPU A16 e la GPU A17 Pro con 6 core.
