Overall, I really like the MacBook Pro 2020, but the newer MacBook Pro with M1 chip is a generally better option because Apple Silicon delivers faster performance and longer battery life.

Overall, I really like the MacBook Pro 2020, but I wouldn’t pay $1,299 for a pro-level laptop with an 8th gen processor. That's why I highly recommend that you jump up to the $1,799 configuration of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which delivers not only a 10th gen chip but faster RAM and four Thunderbolt 3 ports instead of two.

The MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) brings new Intel processors and improved RAM speeds for better performance, but only if you're willing to pay the price. The entry-level model misses out on some of those new toys, which is a shame.

OK, Apple didn’t make any monumental changes to the MacBook Pro this time around. But it did address a couple of customer concerns that are sure to make the MacBook-loving populace stand up and cheer. Not only did Apple double the maximum storage and RAM, but it also put the final nail in the Butterfly keyboard’s coffin, paving the way for the comfort of the Magic keyboard. Toss in an incredibly fast SSD and you’ve got a winner –– all for $1,799.

The MacBook Pro 2020 is a great machine in many ways. Lovely screen, sleek design, excellent keyboard and stellar software. It’s highly customisable with large amounts of SSD and memory available, making it very versatile depending on how much you want to spend.

This one’s tough. As a standalone piece of hardware, I think most people should pass on this one and stay in their Windows/Chrome OS lanes. You’re getting an expensive laptop where you can’t use all of the cool features because your phone doesn’t talk to this at all. You can complement Apple’s services with Google and Microsoft’s, but at the end of the day, you need a foot in the door with an iPhone to really enjoy what’s here. If you just love the design, smooth performance, guaranteed updates, and overall cohesion that Apple offers, I totally get it, and it’s still a great laptop. It’s a very slick machine, but it’s arguably not worth the asking price.

The MacBook Pro might not have changed much visually, but the upgraded 10th-gen Intel chipset and accompanying Iris Plus graphics make all the difference when it comes to performance. It’s also great to see a boosted 16GB of RAM, and the welcome changes to the keyboard setup.

They might all be called MacBook Pro but Apple’s six ‘pro’ laptops couldn’t be more different. The one we have reviewed here sits neatly in the middle of quite a wide range or Macs, that alongside the MacBook Air will meet the needs of a large group of people, from home users, office workers, creatives and those who need the power of a workstation.

Apple's 2020 13" MacBook Pro for $1799 have more advantages over the base model than you'd think, especially if you take off the bottom casing like we did.. The new 10th-Gen chips are actually Apple-exclusive, so they perform incredibly well, especially compared to some other i7 Windows laptops. Apple's 10th-Gen chips all come with G7 graphics, so you get great performance, but there's still a major issue with them that I discuss in this review. There's also one more massive complaint about this MacBook Pro that we shouldn't be dealing with in 2020... But as you'll see in this video, there are a few reasons why this $1799 MacBook Pro is so good that it won't even matter for some.

And so in a span of around six months, Apple has updated its entire line of MacBooks, transitioning them from the dreaded butterfly-switch keys to the new Magic Keyboard and given them meaningful processor upgrades and spec bumps along the way. It’s their strongest lineup of notebooks in some time and there’s something for everybody. I think anyone who bought one of these new MacBooks will be very happy with their purchase. Unless you happen to have a Wi-Fi 6 router at home.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro has much stronger competition that its larger sibling – but if your budget is less than two grand and you prefer a Mac to a PC, there’s more performance here than you might expect.

A modest update over the 2019 model, the 2020 Pro does bring a much-needed new keyboard design, but it's not the 14-inch reimagining that many had expected. Still, it's a great workhorse that's the right balance of performance and longevity.

Apple's 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro is a competent, dependable computer. The upgraded model with the 10th Gen Intel processors outperformed my expectations in terms of speed and power even if it didn’t really impress me on battery life. I would like to see a bigger redesign next time, but that doesn’t mean this design is a problem. It’s just familiar in a time when much of the competition is finding ways to slim their bezels.

Lisa Gade review the 13” MacBook Pro with Intel 10th gen Ice Lake CPUs released in 2020. The price for the 10th gen starts at $1,799 with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SD, and the entry level model with Intel 8th gen CPUs starts at $1,299. Both share the same Retina IPS display with wide P3 color gamut and 16:10 aspect ratio, the new Magic Keyboard with scissor keys (RIP Butterfly keyboard) and aluminum unibody casing in silver or space gray. If you’re looking for something with faster performance (particularly for graphics), and a better display and speakers vs. the 2020 MacBook Air, this is worth a look.

Apple users have been waiting for an upgrade to the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The question here is, is there enough in the new laptop to be worth the investment? There’s certainly enough here for professionals to consider, especially if the MacBook Pro you’re using is more than two years old. While the CPU boost is noticeable, you’ll especially like the increase in graphics performance.

All of those people who were hanging on can finally let go. There’s a 13-inch Mac laptop, with a good keyboard, waiting for you. Actually, there are now three of them. One’s the MacBook Air, and the other two are the new 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is the third and last laptop in Apple’s lineup to receive an upgraded keyboard, meaning those much-maligned butterfly keys are now a thing of the past. In addition to a pleasant typing experience, the 13-inch MBP brings improved graphics performance, healthy battery life and the same lovely Retina display as before. It’s mostly a solid choice, save for a few shortcomings (namely, a hot bottom and the ongoing omission of pro-grade ports).

In the end, the worthwhile new 13-inch Macbook Pro configuration is the laptop I really have been waiting for. That said, I can't help but wish Apple lowered its price slightly, reduced the display's bezels and increased the resolution to 4K. The 13-inch MacBook Pro (2020) is available to order now from Apple's website starting at $1,699.

With Apple updating the MacBook Air and releasing the new 16" MacBook Pro with a revised, scissor-style keyboard, we knew it was only a matter of time before the 13" MacBook pro got the same treatment. Here it is, and it's about what we expected. This is still a fantastic small laptop, and the top line model now comes with a new 10th gen quad-core Intel processor and options for more RAM. Pair that with a keyboard that won't drive you nuts, and you have a very compelling machine. Unfortunately, the cheaper models didn't get quite the full set of upgrades, and this new MacBook Pro is launching into a world where it has to compete against some excellent PC laptops (such as the XPS13, Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop 3 and new Galaxy Book Flex).

Apple has updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Major differences from the previous model include new 10th-generation Intel processor options for some models and double the base storage for all, Apple announced Monday. That takes the two lowest-priced models from 128GB of storage to 256GB; the midtier model from 256GB to 512GB and the high-end base configuration from 512GB to 1TB. Prices for the four default configurations remain at $1,299, $1,499, $1,799 and $1,999. They start at £1,299 in the UK and AU$1,999 in Australia.
