Ultimo aspetto che resta da scoprire è il prezzo. Acer Predator Triton 300 SE arriva sul mercato a 1499€, che sono più che onesti per un dispositivo del genere. Traendo le conclusioni, questo notebook da gaming targato Acer si adatta perfettamente a qualsiasi tipologia di utente ed è particolarmente indicato per chi cerca un dispositivo molto potente, elegante e facile da trasportare. Un vero peccato la poca attenzione riservata al comparto audio, che fa perdere qualche punto sulla valutazione finale.

Una cosa che non amo nei notebook sono i software preinstallati come in questo caso Norton antivirus, Photo e PowerDirector, ExpressVPN e addirittura lo sfondo che rimanda al sito Planet9 che è la community di gamer di ACER. L’unico software che ha un senso è PredatorSense che racchiude tutti i setting del notebook e che effettivamente sto usando spesso per controllare le temperature e per personalizzare l’esperienza d’uso. Nel complesso, ACER Predator Triton 300 SE è un buon equilibrio tra potenza e trasportabilità. Ha ingombri che permettono ancora di definirlo "PC portatile" e ha un prezzo che è assolutamente onesto anzi direi addirittura conveniente in relazione a quello che questa macchina riesce ad offrire.

This is a powerful Notebook which at the time of setup you can have as Windows 10 or Windows 11. I choose Windows 10 and after the normal 15 minutes’ worth of questions answered was able to use the machine, as usual there are a number of updates to do to bring it right up to date. So after a few days having done all the updates I expected to be offered the chance to upgrade and as I was not I restored it and this time I choose Windows 11.

Value for money is the Acer Predator Triton 300SE’s strong suit. You really are getting a lot of capability and quality for your money here, including the ability to play serious games on a machine you can easily throw in a backpack and use in the office. I’d have liked to see the option to add another SSD, and the sound system could be improved, but these are more quibbles than serious criticisms. Like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, the Acer Predator Triton 300SE successfully walks the line between dedicated ultrabooks and more games-focused laptops. The advantage the Acer machine holds is that it is £200 cheaper.

The Acer Triton 300 SE is a great gaming laptop for someone who also needs something portable they can realistically carry around most days. Battery life is solid for light work. The 1.7kg weight may not be light as such, but it's much lighter than the gaming laptop norm. The Acer is also a bit cheaper than the Asus Zephyrus G14, which set the standard for this genre of laptop back in 2020. So now there's much more competition to consider. A couple of design elements look ever-so-slightly dated, though, sticking out in an otherwise very '2021' style of laptop. The Triton 300 SE also runs hot and loud when you max-out its gaming performance. But you know what? At this price point it's a bit of a badass, particularly when you can pay a similar amount for a laptop with no real gaming skills, and end up with less SSD storage too.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU: Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip Ampere GA106 con 3072 core. Disponibile in diverse versioni con un TDP da 60 a 115 Watt.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
