AMD Phenom II X4 P920

L'AMD Phenom II X4 P920 è una CPU quad-core con clock lento per portatili. Rispetto alla Phenom II desktop, la Phenom II X4 mobile non offre level 3 cache e di conseguenza è paragonabile alla linea desktop Athlon X4. La limitata velocità clock consente consumi contenuti (25 W di TDP) ma può comportare una limitazione nelle prestazioni con le applicazioni single threaded e con i giochi. Ad esempio nel test single threaded CB10, la P920 è stata appena veloce quanto un Core 2 Duo Dual-Core da 1.6 GHz. Nel SuperPi anche un Core 2 Duo da 1.3 GHz è stato più veloce. Se si utilizzano tutti i quattro cores, la CPU riesce ad essere veloce quanto un Core 2 Duo da 2.3-2.4 GHz (es. T4500). Nel CB11.5 anche veloce quanto un Core i3-330M. Il Core i7-720QM Quad-Core gira lo stesso a 1.6 GHz, ma grazie al Turbo Boost ed all'ampia level 3 cache, il 720QM è notevolmente più veloce (ma con consumi superiori).

Come le attuali CPUs Intel Core i3, la P920 offre un controller di memoria integrato DDR3 (fino alla DDR3-1066). Tuttavia è ancora realizzato in 45nm (processo SOI).
