AMD E1-2100

L'AMD E1-2100 è un mobile dual-core SoC per subnotebooks e netbooks low-end, presentato a metà 2013. In aggiunta ai due cores CPU con clock base da 1.0 GHz (senza turbo), questo chip da 28-nanometri integra anche una GPu Radeon HD 8210, un controller di memoria single channel DDR3(L)-1333 ed una Southbridge con varie porte I/O-.

Architettura

Sia la Kabini (per notebooks) che la Temash (tablets e subnotebooks compatti) si basano sulla nuova architettura AMD Jaguar, che sostituisce i precedenti modelli Bobcat (i.e. l'E-350). Stando ai nostri benchmarks, le prestazioni per clock sono cresciute di circa il 15%. Inoltre, ora sono supportate anche varie istruzioni recenti come l'SSE fino alla versione 4.2, l'AVX e l'AES. Il processo in 28-nm della TSMC consente voltaggi più bassi e/o valori clock superiori rispetto al Bobcat, oltre al fatto di avere fino a 4 cores CPU cores (Bobcat: 2 cores).

Prestazioni

A causa della bassa velocità clock di appena 1.0 GHz, le prestazioni sono abbastanza modeste e simili alla vecchia AMD C-60. Per seimplici applicazioni da ufficio e multimedia, la E1-2100 ha potenza sufficiente; tuttavia, raggiunge rapidamente il limite con i giochi e le applicazioni più pesanti.

Graphics

Il SoC integra una GPU Radeon HD 8210 con 128 shaders, che si basa sull'architettura GCN. Il core ha un clock da 300 MHz (senza turbo). In media, la HD 8210 equivale ad una Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge); tuttavia, le prestazioni sono spesso limitate dalla CPU. I giochi recenti (del 2013) di conseguenza difficilmente si possono usare. Solo qualche gioco datato e poco pesante gira in modo fluido.

Consumo Energetico

Il consumo energetico dell'intero SoC è di at 9 watts. Pertanto, la E1-2100 è adatta a piccoli ultraportatili e netbooks.
